Natick Mall mass vaccination sites closing COVID-19 Massachusetts


BOSTON The COVID-19 mass vaccination site at the Natick Mall has an official closing date: June 23.
Gov. Charlie Baker announced that all seven of the state s high-volume mass vaccination sites would close by mid-July. Almost 3.7 million people in Massachusetts have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and nearly 4.5 million people have received at least one shot.
The strategy of using mass vaccination sites to deliver shots to residents in the early stages of the state s COVID-19 vaccination was central to the administration s strategy, but was also questioned at times by lawmakers and others over why Baker chose to prioritize limited doses for these sites. ....

Federal support for a COVID-19 mass vaccination site in Boston officially ended this weekend, but officials say the site will finish administering second doses before closing completely.The Federal Emergency Management Agency began supporting the vaccination effort at the Hynes Convention Center on March 31. In addition to personnel and logistical support, the feds also allocated an additional 6,000 doses per day to the site. More than 310,000 doses were administered at the Hynes since March 31. Gov.
