The Martha s Vineyard Times Oak Bluffs to focus on local search for new town administrator Town enlists UMass Boston for help in search. Oak Bluffs enlisted Umass Collins in its search for a new town administrator at a meeting Tuesday night. Rich Saltzberg With longtime town administrator Robert Whritenour heading to a new post in Yarmouth, Oak Bluffs is enlisting the help of the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston. At a meeting Tuesday evening, selectmen charted their course by voting to conduct a local search for a new town administrator with the assistance of UMass Collins. The town will spend the first month advertising the position locally to seek local candidates. If the local search isn’t fruitful, selectmen will expand their search off-Island. The UMass Collins services will cost the town $9,000. ....
KIDRON Don’t read too much into the disappearance of the big Lehman’s sign outside the store. Yes, store ownership is changing hands. But the sign being down has nothing to do with Monday s announcement that Hartville Hardware owner HRM Enterprises is buying the popular Wayne County store. Consider the temporary removal of the sign to be “some bad timing, said Glenda Lehman Ervin, vice president of marketing for Lehman’s “We had the big sign taken down to be refurbished … We didn’t even think of it,” she said. HRM Enterprises plans to bring Lehman’s into its family of businesses that include Hartville Hardware, Hartville Kitchen, Hartville Marketplace, and Top Advantage Surfaces in Stark County. Internally, Lehman’s is calling the acquisition a “partnership,” according to Ervin. ....

The old Dunkinâ Donuts building next door will be transformed into their first Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, with plans to open in the spring.
