As a teenager (16yo) in high school I started taking night classes for SCUBA DIVING to investigate the underwater world. Just me (I didn't ask any friends to do it with me) in the class that I drove 45 minutes in the darkness to get to the city it was being taught in. I would scuba dive every Saturday and Sunday off the coast of Laguna Beach and Catalina. THAT WAS INVIGORATING...DOING SOMETHING THAT MOST TEENS WOULDN'T DO ON THEIR OWN. I THRIVED. I also was Training and Working at Gold's Gym in Los Alamitos. NO PERSONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATION...NOTHING..JUST SWEAT AND LEARNING HOW TO EAT RIGHT, WORK OUT AND GAIN MUSCLE MASS. I SEVERELY INJURED MY BACK ! DAMN!...SO WHAT IS ONE TO DO? START A BUSINESS..RIGHT?....WHEN YOU CAN'T MAKE MONEY ON YOUR OWN.... TIME TO RECRUIT SOME PEOPLE AND BUILD A BUSINESS ! . . SO "HAVE FAITH" CAME ALIVE ! MY FIRST BUSINESS EMPLOYING OTHERS. IT WAS GREAT. PERSONAL TRAINING, CHINESE MUSCLE WORK AND NUTRITION. I HAD THE BUSINESS ITCH NOW !. . At this same time I was also going to Cal State Long Beach. I was president of the "TOPS" the organization of pre-professional students. Since I wanted to be a cardiologist at the time my counselor suggested I become an EMT so I could work with patients. So I did. As working as an EMT and I realized that the dispatchers made a lot more money. I applied and got the job...the graveyard shift and weekends. I was excited and made it so I could study while working graveyard, maintain my business and go to school during the day. . . I never thought of the "juggle" or even that it was a "struggle".. . It was just pure focus of "getting done what had to be done".. . That honestly makes things much simpler when you are of a mindset of what is "right in front of you" instead of "what might happen".. . Getting back to being at CSULB and being the President of TOPS...my job was to bring in doctors, in all categories of Medical and Holistic Ways. That is where I met a chiropractor. That was it...he adjusted me and I had no low back pain...so I applied to Chiropractic School. I was already accepted if I passed all my classes at CSULB......Then I got a D in Chemistry. (NOT PASSING ) Can I tell you how much I hate Chemistry ??? I couldn't go to chiropractic school because of that grade...it set me back 6 months ! I literally quit my job as an EMT..and focused on Chemistry alone...and passed with a C ! I was in !!!! And At that....I think I got in on my PERSONALITY ALONE.... THEY KNEW I WAS HUNGRY..THEY KNEW I WOULD TAKE THE WORLD BY STORM..THEY KNEW I WOULD PREACH CHIROPRACTIC AND HEAL THE PAINED.. . What a drive and I am wondering if you have that passion behind you yet?. . Back to my story :). . I was always involved with Personal Development...FIRST WITH ANTHONY ROBBINS. I bought so many of his programs and lived it. I even filmed in Malibu for his Get The Edge Program. That guy is a living legion and i took on his ways especially when it came to me starting the city of Manhattan Beach and not know barely any one. I decided to make up flyers about my business and what I could do for people. It was a black and white trifold from Kinkos with a Free Massage Card attached plus an picture of me. It took me 2 hours to fold 500 of those and 2 hours to deliver those 500 flyers DOOR TO DOOR or on car windshields ! . . Then Flyer read : "Are you tired of physical therapy and medicine that just doesn't work for you ??? .I offer you a different solution. My Name Is Dr. Faith Leuschen...." and the rest is history I grew so quickly and had to keep up by always hiring more employees !!! . . During this time in my 20's ...I still worked on other businesses and started developing other people's businesses. More and more people were making money and thriving. THAT WAS THE NICHE I LOVE. LOVING ENOUGH TO CLOSE MY PRACTICE, KEEPING MY DATA BASE..KNOWING I WOULD GO WORLD WIDE...AND JUMPED OFF !. .
