Linda Johnson Bignelli

WOODBURY — Linda Johnson Bignelli, born December 13, 1944, in East Lyme, wife of Stephen Bignelli and daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Johnson of Naugatuck, died on April 8, 2021, after a protracted battle with cancer.
She received a B.A. from North Park College in Chicago, Ill., and an M.S. in education from Western Connecticut State College. She taught in the Region 14 middle school for 37 years. Linda was department chairperson and team leader for many years and taught French, English and reading.
After her retirement she continued to substitute, mostly in the middle school, for 10 more years. Along with her husband she led nine trips to France with Region 14 high school students where, with groups as large as 52, they spent time in Paris, the chateau country, Mont St. Michel and Chartres. Linda loved teaching young people.
