A new, popular miniseries available on AppleTV+, Masters of the Air, follows the US Army Air Forces' 100th Bombardment Group, known as the "Bloody Hundredth", during World War 2. The "Bloody Hundredth" throughout its combat, contained airmen from Alabama, many of whom perished in the line of duty.
