His family fled war-torn Sudan, moved to Queensland, before settling in Perth
Bol, 27, originally wanted to be a basketballer and only ran to be quicker on court 
A teacher spotted his natural talent and persuaded him to switch sports at 16 
He ran the second fastest time in the semi final, the fastest ever by an Australian
Bol is also the first Australian male to reach an 800m Olympic final in 53 years
