Bob Dunning: The sort of thing that should go without saying
“Kneeling, raising fist during National Anthem will be allowed at U.S. Olympic trials,” said the headline over Mike Stunson’s recent piece in The Sacramento Bee.
That, of course, suggests that someone was actually considering a ban on kneeling or raising a fist during the National Anthem.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
