Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - It is not an Autobot or a Decepticon, but the Coast Guard mobile communications vehicle, or MCV, can transform into a community life-saving communications portal.
“This is basically a command center in a box,” Cmdr. Vince Taylor, the commanding officer of Coast Guard Communications Command, said. “This is capable of being able to restore any District or Sector communications capabilities whether it be their network or their line of sight communications (over VHF) or their over the horizons communications (UAF and HF). This can restore all of those capabilities.”
