The good news, he has no idea what he is saying. He goes out. Here is his line. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to give you the biggest tax increase and the history of our country. It will be 4 trillion they will increase taxes by 4 trillion. Thats his campaign. They will put the money in the green new deal. Which is conceived and plus, thisby aoc is their deal. I dont think they ever took an environmental class. Did they go to college . I dont think they ever took a course on the environment, but biden wants to raise your taxes 4 trillion, massively increase regulation. Regulations may have been more important than even the big tax cuts that you got, the biggest ever. We got the biggest tax cuts ever and you know it. You fill it in a very good place. You know where. It is, in the wallet you felt in your wallet. They want to close down your factories, send your jobs overseas, destroy the suburbs. Women of the suburbs, please. Ok . Regulation that would have destroyed your homes, to put it mildly. It would have destroyed your american dream. Toorrow, we can put an end be president that has divided the nation and failed to fight hate. To arow, we can put an end presidency that has failed to protect this nation. Toies and gentlemen, close 100 million have already voted. We have to finish the vote tomorrow. My message is simple, the power to change this country is in your hands. And in your hands. Ard, theicas he message should be loud and clear it is time for donald trump to pack his bags and go home. Host both the president and former Vice President making final appeals. This report this morning saying that the president will be calling into a fox news morning show, and joe biden will go to pennsylvania for one more round of campaigning. Both of them plan to watch returns at the white house, joe biden and Kamala Harris will be in delaware. And harris will also be in michigan this afternoon. We will start off with carl on the line that supports President Trump. He is in california. You are first up. Caller yes, i support President Trump. I appreciate the way that you showed the latenight rallies, those are fun to watch. I think he is doing a great job. His economy, hat his plans with the military, his education plans are great. And i think that also i thoug ht he was amazing, the way he can talk and you go to all these rallies. He could talk about the economy. Then he will stop and get sidetracked, and then go off on biden and other things, and he will talk for minutes, then go right back to where he left off on the economy. I find that amazing. Host is there a specific reason you are voting for him . Caller i am a republican and i loved him from the beginning, the first day i sent my donation to scott walker. Then i heard President Trump speak, trump at the time, and i changed. He was coming down the escalator. I like him. I think you will do a great job. And for the black americans and hispanics, which we have a law in california. Host ok, lets hear from duke in maine, you supportive joe biden. Caller hello. Good morning. Yes, i support joe biden. Out ofme to get satan the white house. I have told so many people, that is satan reincarnated. He has ruined this country. He has run his mouth about how things got shut down because of this coronavirus, may be we would not be shut down as much as we are going to have to be now had he stepped up to the bat and done what he should have done. Maybe we would be on the road to recovery, and may be a good recovery. Host have you voted for joe biden, or wire you voting for joe biden . President ial, he has compassion and a heart. Donald trump does not have the decency of a gnat. And we need to change and have a decent person who cares about our country into the person who and to the people who live here. Host john and the people who live here. Host john in new mexico. Go ahead. Caller thank you for taking my call. Thank you to cspan and brian lamb for this great institution, especially now when we need it most. Speaking on the subject, i live with the gentleman from maine had to say. He is right on point. As far as a critique on donald trump, just take a look around. That should be critique enough. Through only his financial crimes, that would be enough, but its actually crimes against humanity that he will have to answer for. What he has done at the border, the kidnapping of children essentially, putting them in forprofit prisons that kicked back to his campaign. Ort you are undecided supporting another candidate . Caller i am supporting another candidate. Admiral mcraven in 2024. Host how about 2020 . Caller i voted already. I voted for joe biden because i have a brain in my head. Host the line is for undecided or you are supporting another candidate altogether, so that is the line we dedicated to that. Here is a supporter of President Trump. Melissa, go ahead. Caller four years ago i called , told you there was no way i would ever vote for donald trump. But i am going out this morning to vote for trump. Has done soim he much for america, for so many different people in america. He has done more in four years for the people in our cities, the africanamerican people within the democrats have done in 30 years. I and very thankful for him. And i want to say the reason i changed my mind, the first thing that caused me to start listening to donald trump was the medias bias. When i started watching msnbc and how terribly slanted they are, could not believe half of what they told me. So i had to go back and relisten. I thought, he did not call mexicans racists. He did not do those things. Host why vote today versus early . Caller i love election day. I have always been independent. I have always voted conservative. Im prolife. 40 of africanamerican babies are aborted and it is wrong. Anyway host that was melissa talking about her supporter President Trump. Mail incomes to the ballots, and report this morning saying it was judge sullivan in washington, d. C. Who said that the Postal Service must reaffirm extraordinary measures to expedite delivery and it must use express mail on monday, tuesday and after election day to expedite ballots. Unless there is a Faster Service option. It underscores the heightened security of the usps, given the expansion of vote by mail, which could play a role in pennsylvania and North Carolina. Decision inhts the texas, where a judge turned aside a challenge to throw out more than 100,000 drivethru ballots in paris, county, a democratic stronghold that includes houston. When it comes to the wall street journal, its talking about what is known in election terms as Election Night mirage, saying Election Officials are cautioning americans to be patient and not read too much into early results, as we handle an unprecedented flood of mailin ballots. This year, surveys have shown democrats are more likely to vote early, and republicans are more likely to vote in person on election day. That has led to projections among analysts, that in some states where they are reported first, early results may show a lead for the republican candidates, only for that to give way to democrats as more mailin ballots are counted. Theres a lot going on today and into tonight. We invite you again to tune into cspans coverage starting at 9 00 p. M. , when it comes to the results coming in. You can see that on the main channel, our website and listen to a donor our free cspan radio app. Sean in delaware, a supportive joe biden. Caller good morning supporter of joe biden. Caller good morning. I am supporting joe biden on the fact of donald trump not being president ial. And am not going forth and trying to lock that down. The russian incident. All the lies he tells. I cannot do it anymore, and i am a diehard republican. I just retired from the military. This will be the first year i switch over. Host you voted for President Trump and 2016 . Will compel you then to vote for him . What compel you then to vote for him . Caller because he was not a politician and i knew by the words he said he was going to try to face change the face of the nation, but he has done so many negative things that it is an embarrassment. I am afraid to leave the country because i am an american. I thought for this country and i just feel as though the officials that surround him, and the republicans, are being complicit in his actions, because they couldve stopped it. Host you saw the former Vice President walking in as part of that that will take place throughout the day. A busy day for both campaigns, especially as you heard the reporting that the Biting Campaign is still sending out Kamala Harris, joe biden, all making stops on this final day of the election. Those are the pictures you will see as we go throughout the morning. Karen, a supporter President Trump. Caller good morning. How are you . Host fine, thank you. Caller i am excited, election days finally here. My husband and i are getting ready to go volunteer shortly. I want to point out a couple things. One, a vote for President Trump is a vote for the middle class and lowerclass, he wants us all to be able to make money and have a great living. And all the things he has done for us. He is not a politician, he is a problem solver, that is why he has gotten so many things done. The other thing i want to point out is you will notice that biden supporters will call and bash donald trump, they have nothing positive to say about joe biden. So maybe think about that. Host why vote today and not early vote . Caller i think that this country takes voting for granted. When afghanistan voted for the first time, they walked miles under threat of death. We cannot even drive our own cars and vote down the road. So i thought, this is the way it is designed to work. You go to the polls and you vote. Host arnold is a supporter of joe biden. You are next. Caller good morning, thank you. I wasnt going to use this maine but the caller from that compared donald trump to s atan have you ever heard, the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he does not exist. Do you know what that is from . Host i do not. Theer it is a quote from movie, the usual suspects. I changed it around slightly. I have been using it on facebook for the last four years. Host how does that apply to your supportive joe biden . Caller i support joe biden because he is a man of intelligence, integrity and thought. About has he cares other things, other than the rich and wealthy. Maman. S not serve he is a billionaire. That is what billionaires do. They hoard much more money than they need. Back toh, i will not go my quote. Host a supporter of President Trump. Hello. Caller good morning, america. Uh, i am a policy voter. And that is the reason i decided to vote for trump. Im against raising taxes. The way to solve the problems in this country is by controlling spending, not by raising taxes. That is why i decided to vote for trump. Rhe most famous words eve spoken by anyone has to be john f. Kennedy, ask what you can do for your country. This country has been running under the guys of the catholic country, but in my might is a socialist country. Spend total on gdp and defense. Flawed system. Medicare has been host would you say the Trump Administration has done a better job with spending issues than previous administrations, and how so . Caller they are not doing a good job, but he has worked on the front of the trade war with china, with trade. I still feel like the Trump Administration has missed out. But i am so much against biden for raising taxes. It will not solve problems, it will dig us deeper in a bigger hole. This country spends 25 of gdp i am talking about the 25 , where itpend should be 60 . 16 . The Health Care System is bringing us down. Host that was a supporter of President Trump. On spending issues, you may see this in your own place where you live. In washington, we are seeing this. Plywood is going up on the lead up today, in matters of security, concerns about security. An article talking about retailers that are concerned about what could happen, saying they have already sustained a billion and insurance losses this year from damage and theft. The Insurance Institute saying protests this year were the costliest in u. S. History. Contractors say they have been fielding roundtheclock calls from Business Owners worried about protests. All requests are the same come aboard up everything before election day. Who spoke onnager the condition of anonymity, going on to say if we go downtown, everything is boarded up, regardless if it is a luxury store or not. It has never been like this before. Not only are businesses being boarded up, the white house as well. Extra security measures on the lead up to election day. Here is some of the fencing that has gone up. You can see it in matters of preparation for the event. The New York Times highlights the role of the National Guard. States areting, already on alert. On monday, the governor of massachusetts ordered the National Guard to be on standby in case of turmoil following the election. In oregon, a state of emergency for portland, citing concerns for potential violence. The Oregon State Police and county sheriff will take over management of Public Safety in the city. Governor brown has directed the National Guard to be on standby. Those are some events taking place in the lead up to election day. You have probably seen this where you live. Here is what some of the sites in washington, d. C. Are. Now to another state that will be closely watched today, florida. Findsn from tampa, who himself as an undecided voter. Go ahead. Caller i appreciate your show, because you really let america speak. I think that is what this is all about. I have tried to remove myself from watching two personalities who really do not seem to act very civil in themselves with namecalling, anger, blaming, picking on each others families and it is disgusting to me. I look at this and go, i am not voting for a man. Lets look at the second person behind the bill, theres a harris and mike pence. Says, iinside that have a plan. I do not know what the plan is. But i see attempts to control more power, rather than people. I see people being elected that are getting in, then doing what they want to for the sake of their party. I would like to see america rise up new leaders. I would like to see colleges be balanced in their teachings. This is the result of 30 years of an educational system i am a teacher. I am 61. And i want people to think instead of being moved by media produced campaigns. Lets hear people speak about the plan for the future and an ideology and a constitution again. That is why i am undecided. I do not like either option, but i do love america. Host in tampa, talking about the second people on the ticket. Philadelphia in yesterday, making part of the Closing Argument for the Biting Campaign. [video clip] in this battle, for the soul of our nation, we have seen what can be unburdened by what has been. And ae seen who we are, willingness to fight for the country we love. And that is why i know that tomorrow we are going to elect o joe biden, the next president of the United States of america. [cheers] [horns beeping] while we are on the subject, tell me, how many have you already voted . [cheers] honk if you voted. [horns] onlinehave no voted, go and find out when and where you can vote tomorrow, because there is still almost 24 hours we have got to get this done. And honk if you have been sending text messages, making calls to get out the vote. [horns honking] because we all know that from the time the polls open, until they close, every minute counts. So we cannot let up, because it aint over until it is over. [horns honking] and everything is at stake. Ourhealth, our economy, childrens future. A womans right to make decisions about her own body. [cheers] Justice System that treats all people with dignity and equally, under the law. Advances court that the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader ginsburg. [cheers] phraseves up to the above its entrance, oval equal justice under law equal justice under law. The kind of country we want to be. Host people are texting about election day. Bradley from North Carolina saying that he supports the other candidate, because he wants medicare for all and legalized weed. This is from virginia, this is from a viewer who says i voted for the rule of law. The president follows the constitution and keeps his promises and puts citizens and america first. Pam saying she voted for joe biden, because i want to live in a democracy, not a dictatorship. And from steve in monterey park, aning i voted on halloween, appropriate day to try to end this nightmare presidency. Texting is available at 2027488003. Twitter and facebook also places you can put your thoughts, or give us a call. This show will be dedicated to you and your thoughts on this election day. 2027488000 if you support Vice President biden. 2027488001 if you support President Trump. An 2027488002 if you are undecided voter or supporting another candidate. Wenting of mike pence, he to pennsylvania yesterday, making a pitch for the Trump Campaign. [video clip] i think you know, standing out here shivering in the cold, this choice has never been more important, the stakes have never been higher. You have a choice in this election. It will not be so much whether america is more republican or democrat, more liberal or conservative, more red than blue i think the choice in this election is whether america remains america. Whether we are going to charge a course for our children chart a course for our children, build on our American Heritage of faith, freedom and patriotism, and all the godgiven liberties enshrined in our constitution. Or whether we are going to let joe biden and the Democratic Party surrender our country to the radical left. And toppleur economy our heritage of freedom. Host lets hear from brenda in st. Louis, a supporter of joe budden. Caller good morning. My first point is donald trump kids that do not know where their parents are. And i get tired of people trying to equate him with barack obama, he did not do that. We have never had National Guards in my lifetime and people boarding up buildings because we are voting. Donald trump is responsible for this atmosphere. For the lady in virginia that wanted to say donald trump has done a lot for blacks, i get tired of white people always talking about what donald trump has done for black people. They are just quoting him. Nothing in my life has changed. Host why are you supporting joe biden . Caller i think he has the character, the morals, and he can bring us into a different era, because what we are in now is turmoil. Ever since he came down the escalator he has been ruining everything. When he got out of the hospital, instead of him being humble, considering he only plays a 750 in taxes, he did not even pay for the care he got. He did not know how to be humble. Everything was about him. Not word of condolence for the 207,000 people we have lost. Not one word of that. When he went out there and left the white house and went across the street, he reminded me of something i saw on tv, like children of the corn. He is nothing but an actor. And everybody is falling for it. Oft ed in ohio, a supporter President Trump. Caller that is a good example of why i am in the republican party. Im 61. I keep. I keep hearing about the kids. They keep showing pictures from years ago. They found almost all of the parents. They are still in their country. The kids are here. They have contacted the parents, and they do not want to their kids. They want to leave them here. Host what are you supporting President Trump . Caller look what he has done and not even four years, fighting the media and everything. Theyie about the man lie about the man. He has done more in four years than biden has done in 40 years. You look at his children. What they have done in china and ukraine. They have never even worked a job. He has lied his whole life. Plagiarism going to colleges. Host what policy would you support the most or what has donald trump accomplished . The borders, the economy is doing great, even in a pandemic, he has stood for the first amendment, free speech, which of the media has sold out completely. Extension ofn an the Democratic Party. Everybody knows it. The Second Amendment, he never touched it. He has not stacked the courts. His Vice President is way better. She is a farleft snake. Host don in michigan, a supporter of joe biden. Good morning. Caller good morning, america. Good morning, cspan. The last caller, wow. Trump eaten all the koolaid. He has all his talking points. I have a lot of people who are out of vote this election. I would like america to go out and vote and lets get this turd out of the white house, and get the country going. Host your support for joe biden, what would you say is . Caller why i support him. I support him because we have a commanderinchief, or we will soon have a commanderinchief that the whole world will not be laughing at. One who cares about getting the coronavirus controlled. While, buthere for a he will get control of it. He is not going to say to insert bleach in your body. He is not going to lie to you. Host when it comes to joe biden himself, what do you think you will do about the coronavirus differently . He will do about the coronavirus differently . Caller i think he will attack it from the white house as a national problem, so we can get all states together and doing the same thing toward the same direction, not one state doing one thing, a red state doing something, a blue state doing something. Lets get together as one country and take care of a problem to help all people. Host what person can bring all those states into that kind of unity . Is he the person . Caller yes, if you have a commanderinchief that is talking to the republican governors, democratic governors, independents and listening to the science, the scientists, not tells you lies and tells you what you want to hear. Host allen in new york, a supporter of President Trump. Caller good morning. I support President Trump because he is religious. Im a jewish guy. Saw it in the bible [indiscernible] host glenn, a supporter of joe biden. Caller good morning. I would love to endorse biden. The plywoodut all and fencing going up, that trump is putting up. He has a 30 foot hole to dig into in the bottom of the white house, and biden has a seven foot basement. Lets get this guy out of the white house. Host can you clarify those references . Caller on what . Host on what you just said. Caller well, donald trump has a bunker down there. All this plywood is going up. He has had four years to straighten this out and get everybody going together, and all he ihas done his terrace apart. Tear us apart. You support joe biden. On,er lets get a mask everybody get behind one guy. Host are you calling for a National Mask mandate, or is there Something Else . After this virus. All we are doing is killing people. Host that is glenn referencing the conditions at the white house, that you will see in washington. As far as extra fencing going up at the white house, the plywood being put on buildings, not only here, but across the u. S. Other Law Enforcement efforts being highlighted in the Washington Post, when it comes to federal use, saying federal enforcement agencies, including the bureau of prisons, agents have been told to be ready if called to assist in duties, such as guarding federal property, responding to public unrest. For of a contingency plan developed among months of protests in the country this year, and that sometimes the atvil Rights Division th they would send personnel to 18 states to monitor for compliance with federal Voting Rights laws, something it regularly does during election, while the fbi will monitor from the Bureau Headquarters as well as field offices across the country. That is in the Washington Post, if you want to read that story. We will hear from chris in maryland. Offer hey, just to start with your first question, i am going to vote today because it is tradition. You usually vote on november 3 and that is what i am going to do. Out of all the commentators, i like you the best, pedro. Host why are you voting for President Trump . Caller because he is not a politician. He didnt start as a politician, he is still not a politician. All these democrats, all they have to say is hate. Its all about hate. Im almost 60 years old. I have never seen plywood upon the retail shops. That is to protect themselves from the peaceful rioters, sorry, peaceful protesters. They are running on hate. As far as what you will do for health care, the only thing i have heard from joe is more masks. You cannot mandate masks. You cannot make people wear masks. They should wear masks. I wear one no matter where i go. I live in maryland, a democrat state. Do not mind protecting myself. And other people as well. But that is all i have heard from joe is mask, i have not heard anything else. Host thats a supporter for President Trump, talking about voting for him for a second term. We will continue on with the calls all throughout the morning, hearing from you on this election day. 2027488000 if you are a supporter of joe biden. 2027488001 if you support President Trump. Perhapsre undecided or supporting another candidate altogether, 2027488002. The course of the morning, we will also be joined by reporters in key battleground states to talk about what is going on on this election day and what expectations might be. Of the Tampa Bay Times is joining us from florida. Thank you for joining us. Guest no problem. Host you said it was prediction time when it comes to today, what is your assessment from what you see going on . Operatives, party insiders, experts, we poll those who are inside of the politics, and the conventional wisdom is most of them give a slight advantage to President Trump in florida, a state where republicans have a lot of muscle memory for victory. Democrats have had a tough time winning statewide elections here, when president obama is not on the ballot, so republicans have an edge in that regard. We have seen democrats going in with a slight advantage in their turnout so far. Host what is the expectation of turnout . Guest that remains to be seen. We have had so much early voting, it is hard to know if people were just shifting how they vote to earlier in the process. Voting by mail is tried and true here, and people are taking advantage because of the pandemic, more so than in years past. It is unclear if they turn out will carry over to election day, where we will see 80 in some of these large counties, the are traditionally democratic strongholds, or if more people just decided to vote early and we will see sort of a steady, but not as energetic rush to the polls today as perhaps in other president ial elections. Host one story you wrote was the focus on Hillsborough County. Tell us where that is and why it is important to look at that part. Guest Hillsborough County is the county around tampa, one of the largest cities in the state. It makes up a big chunk of one of the largest media markets in the country. More so in tampa than anywhere in the country. It has been a bellwether from 1960 to 2012, it shows the president correctly in all but one election. But that streak was broken in 2016, when Hillary Clinton did better here. The question Going Forward is is this a bellwether or a democratic stronghold, a place for the democrats hope to sort of upset what they will see in rural parts of the state. It is growing quickly. It is emblematic of the growth we are seeing across the state, where you have so Many Puerto Ricans moving here, so many middleclass people, many millennials moving into our downtown. And it is also demographically basically a microcosm for not just the state, but the entire country, if you look at the wealth, socioeconomic status, the race and gender breakdowns, it is pretty much identical to the country, so people look to it to see where the president ial overall turnout is going to be. Host in the New York Times, there is a profile of the Biting Campaign, particularly for latino voters. You talked about that population. Talk about the outreach from both sides for this community. Guest Donald Trumps outreach has been focused exclusively on those who come from cuba, venezuela, countries where the message of eight socialist Democratic Party is the most effective. And we have seen President Donald Trump make tremendous gains in the cuban community, especially in south florida. He is outpacing his supported there in 2016, and joe biden is struggling to break into it. However, noncuban hispanics, Puerto Ricans especially, but also those from mexico, honduras, fastgrowing populations, tend to be more democratic. Engaged, andget they tend to register as no Party Affiliation in florida, meaning not a democrat or republican. However, when they do vote they more often vote democrat than not, it is just a question on whether turnout will be. We saw a large push from joe biden in the weeks leading up to the election, trying to get that Community Around orlando, around tampa, to show up for him on election day. Host joe biden is expected to make another couple of appeals in florida today, i suppose that is suggesting what you said about where things stand. Guest harris will be here. She was just here over the weekend. We had dueling rallies with biden in tampa. And lastly, multiple trips from president obama. Florida has had the attention of both campaigns and really showing how close it is and how it will come down to the wire. Host you among many others will be looking at florida, as part of the electoral victory map. Will we have a clearcut view of florida with either candidate winning the state . Guest that is a big question we do not know. Unlike other states that are dealing with a larger flux of early voting and mailin ballots for the first time, florida has had a long practice of counting ballots. After the 20 election, where we had recounts in most of our statewide races, the law was changed to allow county officials to count the ballots before election day. That will eliminate a lot of the backlog and allow the returns to come in sooner than expected. Of course, if it is a razor thin margin, then i think it will come down to a couple of counties, where there is turnout. Even if 90 of the ballots are counted by the first couple hours going into the evening, if we are heading toward a close outcome, regardless of those precautionary measures and steps taken, it will still be tough to know who the winner is by the end of the night. Host what legal forces are in place on either side in the state . Guest guest we have seen discussion from lawyers from both campaigns about what they would do in florida. Theres some already, some issues around felon voting. An amendment in florida was supposed to give a large expansion of the Voting Rights to felons in florida, but it was rolled out slowly and with issues, identifying who the felons are it is possible we will see many ineligible felons cast ballots and there is already discussion about challenging those ballots from republicans. On the other side, democrats are concerned about how the state applies a rule, which is decided county by county. You have places with little training in sort of the forensics of matching signatures and deciding which ballots count. And already we have seen studies that show africanamerican voters and students are being disenfranchised by that, more than any other demographic. If it comes down to a recount, i think the questions and concerns will follow along those lines, less around the early voting and vote by mail procedures, like we are seeing in pennsylvania. Is a Political Editor for the Tampa Bay Times, steve joining us for the conversation on election day. Thank you for your time. Guest thank you. Host for those on the phone, we have a supporter of joe biden. Go ahead. Caller good morning. I think every american should vote for joe biden. Becauseon i say that is it has nothing to do with the economy, foreign trade, nothing to do with tax cuts, nothing to do with any of that. Joe biden can bring the country together. That comes first. Thethey no one mentions, in nazi germany. Isf the country feels it disrespected, you do not have a country. Donald trump has always needed cia, the nfl, fbi, the media. Everyone is always against him. He needs an enemy to thrive. Host what convinces you about joe biden, that he can bring the country together . Caller i was not a supporter of joe biden at all. And what convinced me, believe i was not planning on watching the democratic convention, but i watched it. I had no idea who this man was. He lost his son to cancer. And i saw this man change. Man. Ansformed into a whole i think he was a little arrogant as a young man, like most of us, but i think he humbled himself. Donald trump needs an enemy. Without it, there is no donald trump. Host we will move on to john, a supporter of President Trump in mississippi. Caller i want to speak to africanamericans, americans at large. America was built in the blink of an, off the back of my ancestors. Nobody is talking about what they will do to rectify that. Our 2 trillion, 90 of it, is meant to be spent to prop up the american economy. Owigh wall, you kn [indiscernible] it is their kids and they have to deal with with the influx of international people. The globalists, they want our economy to be built on you ko ake black peoples homes and positions. Host how does that translate to your support for President Trump . Caller because donald trump has secured the borders, he has a plan designed to help africanamericans, he has empowerment zones. And the democrats have not done anything for africanamericans. Come on, black people. The whole world knows that the owe us. We are not supposed to be at the bottom of this list. Host john in mississippi. And pennsylvania, the commonwealth will be a key focus of evens today, as you are watching the returns. We invite you to watch those on cspan, by the way, 9 00 p. M. Eastern is when our coverage will start. You can see that on our main channel, or go to our website at cspan. Org, and listen along to our radio app. Our website has closing speeches from last night, all the major events of the campaign, which you can review as cspan. Org. Areave a line for those who supporting another candidate or undecided. This is paul from pennsylvania, go ahead. Caller right now, i have been registered as an independent, and i have not gone to the polls yet today. Host i want to show people that joe biden is set to dissipate in some of those events here on election day. I apologize. Start over. Caller i am registered as an independent. I have not been to the polls yet today because i am still undecided. Right now, i am leaning toward joe biden, if only because he will surround himself with experts in the fields that need to be addressed. And he will listen to them and not fire them because he disagrees with them. Host did you hold off from voting early, only because you are still undecided and wrestling as far as who you would support . Caller yes. Host what do you expect as far as your polling place, how busy is it typically . Caller i live in a rural area and we do not have the long lines waiting to get in to vote, so it does not matter how long it takes, i will eventually go. Right now, i am still undecided. I am hoping if i keep listening to your callers, that someone will Say Something that will impact me, so i can go cast my vote. Host paul in pennsylvania. Staten michigan, a key that both candidates have been focusing on. A supporter of joe biden in lansing. Caller thank you for taking my call. I appreciate all you are doing to get these words out to people around the country. Im supporting joe biden 100 because i see his layout of very clear plans. I found him talking about the ideas he has, but he is not inflexible. He knows things have to be adjusted. I think that specifically about health care. Im a senior citizen, so for me health care has to be part of whatever i considered for my future. And im still waiting to hear ist the health plan that supposedly coming from the drop and trump and republicans, a s a whole, and i have not seen that yet. But there are other things he has laid out. He is about Climate Change. All these things are important. Was acareer life, i scientist, so when i hear someone disrespecting information that has been found through scientific study, it concerns me because there is a great deal of information in the handling of the pandemic and in Climate Change, that seems to be being ignored. That concerns me. I see biden listening to people. The last caller said something to that effect. Biden is listening to good information, and he is willing to listen. I think that is incredible. Host she mentioned Climate Change as one of her deciding factors. The Washington Post highlighting the fact that it is tomorrow that the United States is said to become the only nation to officially withdraw from the paris claimant accord, aimed at slowing Climate Change. Her the u. S. Whet exit will be briefe will be determined by the election. Trumps administration has made it clear that they would not be part of the accord, joe biden meanwhile has said he will rejoin the accord and make the nation a leader on climate action. We will go to maryland, a supporter of President Trump. Caller thank you for keep callers focused. I am a total supporter of President Trump. Im a black woman. I love the fact President Trump has done so much in the middle east. Oh my goodness, people do not talk about that but it is so important. Our military is coming home. I love the economy. And now, it is coming back. I love the fact he has opportunity zones for blacks. I love is in reform. Im also prolife. This president is the best thing that has happened. He is a patriot. Im black, but i am an american first. And i love the fact he is so onboard of doing so much for everybody, not just blacks or whites. Today i am voting for President Trump. It is tradition, that is why i am going today. I want to thank you for how you are handling it. It makes so much sense. Host why not vote early . Wait until today . Why not vote early . It is tradition. I heard a little bit of both people, i here with the other side is saying. The bottom line is President Trump is proamerica. America first. It is about time someone took care of all of us as a country. You are hearing about nt five and all that stuff, those none of those people are voting for donald trump. Or whatever, ent boarding up these windows supportersantifa and of democrats. I love the fact he is proamerica. He cares about all americans. I love the fact that you are making sure people are staying focused to the facts. Host finishing off our first hour of calls from you, the viewer. We will spend most of the morning hearing from you. We will hear from political reporters along the way about those key states. If you want to put your voice in, 202 7488000 if you support joe biden and Kamala Harris. 202 7488001 if you support President Trump or Vice President pence and Vice President pence, i should say. Undecided or supporting another candidate altogether, 202 7488002. One thing you have seen of course our political ads. When this day comes, it is the final ad both sides are putting out. [video clip] biden i started this campaign saying we were in a battle for the soul of the nation. I believe that even more deeply today. For,e are, what we stand maybe post importantly who we are going to be, is at stake. Character is on the ballot. The character of the country. This is our opportunity to leave the dark policies of the past behind us. Choose hope over fear. Unity over division. Science over fiction. It is time to unite the country and come together as a nation. I cant do it without you. I am asking for your vote. Remember, this is the United States of america. Were has never been anything have been unable to do when we decide to do it together. I am joe biden and i approve this message. [video clip] while americas cities burned, joe biden fanned the flames, refusing to condemn violence, supporting bail bonds that help the rioters out of jail. Joe bidens silence speaks loudly. He does not have our backs. In bidens america, we will be in danger. President trump will keep america safe. If you support police, support donald trump. Host a supporter of President Trump from kentucky, this is clarence. Caller hello . Host go ahead. Caller i support President Trump, i will be honest. The first time he ran, i voted for him. I did not know what kind of president he would make. I voted for him mostly just to vote against hillary. Since he has been president , i where most other politicians when they run for office, they promise this, they promise that, when they get elected they do not to half of it. President trump is trying to do everything he said he was going to do. Biden, are youor serious . You are voting for communism . Are you kidding . And we becomeins a communist nation, we are finished as a free nation. When he orders the military to start kicking in doors to take peoples guns, i pray people in the military will knock on the door and start handing out guns. Host have you voted already . Caller yes, i have voted already. They have it down at the courthouse. You go in and go to the clerks office, you vote, you make sure that is who you want to vote for, put it in the machine and it tells you. Ive got no problem with that. Host did you do that today . Caller i did that week ago. Host what was the experience like as far as was it easy . Are there a lot of people . Were there a lot of people . Caller there were maybe a couple dozen people. It was all right. People wore their masks and all that. Experience ins the virginia area, polling places already opening up. People participating. Here is a sampling of some of the voters we have taken on election day. Maybe not a lot of people, maybe that is your experience going into the polling place. If you have done it already, you can call in and let us know. Clarence voted previously. From hickory hills, illinois, a supporter of joe biden. Caller thanks for taking my call. It amazes me when i listen to your show and i hear these people talking like clarence. I do not see that message from trump. I do not understand why he sees what he sees. Have a have liked to ,etter democratic nomination between thet 2 i could not vote for an independent because that is a waste of my vote. Democrats, i do not see where they are communist. I do not see where they are trying to, like donald trump says, you vote for biden, you vote for anarchy, taking the police i do not see where or why that message is thrown out there or accepted as any kind of truth. Host who was your original candidate of choice . Say, the twoi choices are democrats or republicans. Ofant see four more years what i am going through today. Host which democrat did you initially support . Caller i would have liked harris is ok as far as a Vice President , could i see her as president . No. You know . This was the cream that rose to the top, biden. There are other people like bernie sanders. There was stuff that i liked about them, there is stuff i dont like. Host you have to vote for the candidate on the ticket. Caller right. Here is what we have today, do i want four more years of this . I cant see that. Host rich in illinois. Lets go to new jersey, charles. Caller how are you doing . Host fine. Caller people talking about Climate Change and all of that, this country has the cleanest air it has ever had because of President Trump. Pulling out of this pact, then people as long as the other people in the world keep polluting, it does not matter whether we stop. Why should we throw money at these people and they do not use it . That is one of the reasons im voting for trump. And everything else. , this the pandemic country was coming back. Jobs were coming back. Of these factories in china pollutingff that are and they are all coming back to this country that has the cleanest air there is. As far as solar power, they are not there yet. I do not think solar power can support the whole world. I do not think it has advanced that far that it can do that. Host ok. That is charles in new jersey talking about his support for President Trump. When it comes to election day matters, to the topic of hacking. The New York Times talking about the arm of the government that deals with that, the United States cyber command. They reported that cyber command, which runs the military defensive operations in the online world was largely on the sidelines in 2016. For 2018 midterms, the command took a far more aggressive posture. In addition to sending teams to allied countries, it sent running messages to would be in its firsts offensive operation against moscow. It took at least one of those troll farms offline on election day and the days after. 2018 operation was focused mostly on russia, according to what is publicly known. This year, officials have described efforts from iran, china and russia potentially influencing the boat. Cyber command has also widened, adding officials would not identify regions, but not the countries they had operated before 2020 but added Cyber Defense commission malware used by adversarial teams and other host that in the Washington Post this morning. If you want to read it there, we will continue taking your calls about this election day on some of the issues like voting places. You can comment on who you voted for. You can call us, post on social media as well. Also, we will focus on specific states with reporters who have been closely following these events. Pennsylvania, closely watched in this cycle. Thank you for joining us and giving us your time. Guest thank you for having me. Host what you make of the aggressive nature just in the last days or so of candidates going to this state . Guest i think both campaigns think this state is in play. I do not think either campaign feels like they have pennsylvania locked down. I think they are particularly concerned about bluecollar voters. If you remember, democrats onlyht joe biden was the candidate to be able to be donald trump with bluecollar voters. We will see if that comes to pass. I think trump is concerned he has lost a few points with bluecollar workers in the southwest corner. But, he has gained support in the Northeast Corner which is the area where joe biden is from. Ishink they know the state in play and they are trying to do their best to keep those margins down. Biden does not want trump to run up margins and red counties like he did last time. Trump is trying to cut into the margins in the blue counties. Host host we saw in 2016, the president cut 48. 2 of the support their versus Hillary Clinton at 47. 5 . Razor thin margins. Are those margins still at play today . Guest it still feels like a close race. Biden had a lead here for the last year or so, but his lead has been within the margin of error in most polls. At has felt close. I think you need no more proof than how often they have been coming here. They have come here more often than any other battleground state. Host how many people have voted so far in the commonwealth . What is the potential for turnout today . Guest more than 3 million mailin ballots have been requested. It is my understanding that more than 2 million have been returned. I can tell you i went to my polling place this morning, i had to turn around because i never would have made it in time for this interview because the line was so long. I have never seen a line like this at my polling place. It was stretched around several blocks. And then you had full parking lots at the church and nearby communities i was stunned. Host thank you for showing up. If turnout does become a large factor, who does that benefit . Guest it depends who you ask. Mightcampaign thinks it benefit them, the Trump Campaign thinks it benefits them. By and large, the mailin ballots that have been returned so far have been democrat voting. Trumpre expecting all the supporters to show up today, but there are still plenty of democrats who have not voted yet. At all. They are going to go to the pulse today too. We have to wait and see. When the pennsylvania election will be called is a big question mark. Host can you explain that . Guest we have seven counties in pennsylvania who have said they will not start processing mail until tomorrow. They just want to focus on the traditional voting today and they will get to those others tomorrow. Thever, our counties with largest populations like philadelphia, suburban counties, Allegheny County where pittsburgh is, they are all starting to count their mailin ballots today. Lawsuits,a number of also. We will have to see how some of those work out. Mainly, the holdup could potentially be the counting of mailin ballots. The reason why we have so many mailin ballots is the pandemic. Host talk about the legal battles that could end up because of all of these battles. What is your sense of the teams in place there . Is my understanding that trump is having philadelphia and counties out there like micah murray, chester, buck, delaware, he has people on the ground there the processing. I know they are very concerned about the main point seems to be right now, ballots that come in after election day. As you know, the Supreme Court allowed if your ballot is received up to friday that your vote can be counted. Campaign isp fighting that. However, ohio has basically 10 days. You are dealing with a lot of different states with a lot of different rules. The Trump Campaign has lawsuits in several states. There could beat Election Fraud with these ballots coming in later. In his lawsuit during the primary, his campaign failed to produce any example of widespread fraud in the primary. Far during the selection this election, we had one case of fraud in luzern county. It was a republican man trying to vote for his dead mother. With that in mind, talk about areas of the state, even as result filter in over the next few days, what areas of the commonwealth will you be focusing on as far as determining who wins . Guest i am actually interested in the red counties, which you do not hear often. A lot of people will focus on philly and the suburbs. Those areas are important, for sure. Decades, democrats could win pennsylvania just by winning philadelphia and suburban counties. Trump in 2016 turned that strategy on its head. High in redrgins so counties that democrats could not compensate for those margin losses in red counties. Im going to watch. If biden does better than clinton and those red counties, even if he does not do as well as obama did in 2012, but if he does better than Hillary Clinton did four years ago, that is going to turn out to be a good night for him. As we mentioned earlier in the show, trump won by a little more than 44,000 votes. We will be watching those red counties. Who reportswhat all for the york daily report. She and others are going to be closely watching this election day. She still needs to vote, so we will let her on her way. We thank you for giving us for time. Guest thank you. From pawtucket, rhode island, an undecided voter. Hello. Caller hi. Host youre on. Caller thank you for taking time to do this paradigm a code africanamerican. Am an africanamerican and i am independent. I am neither democrat nor republican because i feel like Neither Party has done anything for black people. , out of bidention trump, i feel like he is embarrassing the u. S. Earnerlike as a business a Business Owner that pays taxes and fee into nation came out of his taxes, hibor refusing taxes, it is kind of like a hit in the face to americans that work hard, work multiple jobs and pay taxes. Here you are claiming to be a millionaire, or whatever cama or whatever, and you are avoiding paying taxes. And on the taxes alone having to pay my fair share as a Business Owner, to think our president is doing all he could possibly can to not pay his fair share is very disturbing to me. Host lets go to mary in cambridge, massachusetts. A supporter of joe biden. Caller hello. [indiscernible] [indiscernible] host ok, let me stop you. Your connection is degrading as far as our ability to hear you. If you want to call back and see if you can get a better connection, feel free to do that so we can hear what you have to say. In time, we hear from john and washington, d. C. A supporter of President Trump. Caller good morning. I was thinking that the democrats slogan could be, we will unite this country even if we have to burn your house down. Kiss my mask. Host david in capitol heights, maryland. A supporter of joe biden. Caller good morning. That i amke to say voting for joe biden because donald trump is a con man. Got 100 million out of the 2017 tax break for the rich. Lord knows how much he got out of the stimulus money. She would not reveal how much he got. Thanks for taking my call. Host give me a specific of why your supporting joe biden the test joe biden. Caller joe biden is for the people. He is honest. He has got moral spirit that she has got morals. Everyone in this melting pot. Have a good day. Host columbus, ohio. A supporter of President Trump. Hello. Caller hi. I would like to know what the people think of this commit has been set all over the mainstream democrats basically are doing mail in voting and republicans are voting in person. Mindset, yesterday they started announcing that people who have covid can vote. Who have been exposed covid. Direct hit on what they think is going to be republican in person voters . It sounds fishy. Host have you voted yet . Caller not yet. I intend to. I hope i dont get covid because i have preexisting conditions. Host host why did you wait until today . Caller i have always voted in person. All my life. That is a way i feel comfortable doing it. Of thelly since so many envelopes come up in the trash and different places. Who knows what the story is. I have always voted in person. Host do you expect the place where you vote in columbus to be busy today . How do you prepare for that as far as safety concerns . Caller im going to wear double masks and pray. In columbus, plans to vote today. Some of you may have done that, perhaps you voted early too. Tell us about your experience and the candidate your supporting. 202 7488000 if you support joe biden and Kamala Harris. 202 7488001 if you support President Trump and Vice President pence. If you are undecided, or supporting others, 202 7488002. Today is election day, that is what we are talking about. Sayhave heard our reporters , some results of the next couple of days. At least for those initial results, you can tune in tonight at 9 00 to watch our coverage of the results, take your phone calls on the topic. You can talk about this election day if you want to at 9 00 Eastern Standard Time on cspan, cspan. Org and listen along on the cspan radio app. From casper, wyoming, beverly is next. A supporter of joe biden. Hello pedro caller hello pedro. I want to say that these people not acthey do responsible. They are acting like cowards. Boosting up trumps base. That is wrong. When you have a gun, youre supposed to be responsible. Not act like you are all tough like trump come on. Talk about your candidate joe biden nyu why you are supporting him. Caller i am supporting him because he is a decent man. He is what we need in office. Harrispporting kamala because she is a professional. That is what we need. Host beverly in casper, wyoming. One thing we have talked about a lot, the president ial race, but the senate is also in play. The wall street journal , sayingts that republicans are fighting to hang onto their narrow advantage. Democrats need to gain four seats to take control. A total of 14 seats are now considered competitive as record small dollar donations have enabled democrats to expand the map of closed races from just 11 over the summer. Strategists have zoomed in on a pain, northtates in carolina and georgia as most likely to determine the control of the senate. More of that analysis you can find on the wall street journal. Brett is from new port richey, florida. Go ahead. Caller good morning america. It is a Beautiful Day to vote in florida. Host as far as the candidate you are supporting, who are you supporting . Caller i am thirdparty. I am supporting jo jordgensen. I voted early a couple of weeks ago. I was proud to cast my vote. Host what led you to do that . To call in andd hourhat it was about an drive to work and this is my 83rd try calling and because i felt like i had something to share with everybody. That in the i feel history of america, we have always been led to believe we can only choose between the two main parties. That is a detriment to the media not doing a service to us. Ticketgensen is on the in all 50 states amongst a couple other candidates that are not on all 50, but still we have more options than what we are always given to believe. Feel like with conservative liberals, republicans, if everybody knew about jo jordgensen and she was given her fair share of media attention, we could see there is a lot of common sense to her and a lot of things that i am sure we all agree with. Host why are you supporting her specifically . Caller it has to do with common sense. Reallyve jo jordgensen does care about america. I believe that she seems to care wantsthe constitution and to leave for government out of it. Trump seems to lean on leaving Big Government how it, but i feel like it is not being run the way he says. I believe she wants Big Government out of our lives and we should live as americans. It is a common sense candidate. Host as far as a specific policy matter for her, at least a specific policy position, what do you closely aligned with srs specific policy . As far as specific policy echo caller she can caller caller she is very much for the Second Amendment is also for gay marriage for caller lgbt people serving in the military. She is also for legalizing marijuana. You cane so many things find that you probably would support her on. You probably dont realize she is out there. Host ok. Brett in florida. Haveso you know, we featured candidate jorgensen twice on this very program for long stretches of time. An the last one, she had hour to talk about policy preferences. It did not change your position because you are supporting her. For those of you looking at thirdparty candidates or interested in hearing what they are advocating for, go to cspan. Org not only for jo jordgensen, but Holly Hawkins as well who represents the green party. All four of those attributes are available at cspan. Org. Crystal in marcus and, texas. A supporter of President Trump. Caller close enough. Because in call in 2016, i voted her hill i voted for hillary because all they knew about trump was his pugilistic style of debating. Heething came out about what said and i could not vote for him. However, during his period in office, i am impressed with the things he has done. Says, but the things he has done which include negotiating historic peace treaties with israel for the first time, they give peace without having to give something up. I am disappointed that was not covered in the media. Over 200 conservative judges he has appointed. Tax law. More trade agreements he has negotiated. The fact that he brought back jobs. The fact that he did Economic Opportunity zones. The fact that before the pandemic hit, he had historic low unemployment rates across pretty much all ethnicities. He has done a very good job. He has earned my vote. We haveu are in texas, seen reporting over the last few days about the closeness of texas. What you think when you hear those stories living there . Caller i find it hard to believe. The excitement for trump in the area i live in i have never seen anything like it. There are huge trump trains where people drive with their trump flags. They are happy. They are waving. Dont get me wrong, i do have friends i work in the medical industry it is very diverse and i have people that support biden. I get into conversations with them and they never tell me why they support biden, it is always because they dont like trump. Not because of something biden will do. Be probably the worst job President Trump has done, which has still been good but i feel like he could have been theer at honing in on masked mandates during the pandemic. That is really close to my heart. I am a nurse that came down with covid. , but i probably did not isolate as best i should. At lunch, i still ate by others. I still ate food prepared by others. He has still done a fabulous job. In texast is crystal talking about her support of President Trump. We have gone about an hour and a half to take your calls. We are going to continue until 10 00. If you want to give us a call, 202 7488000 if you support joe biden. 202 7488001 if you support President Trump and mike pence. If you support another candidate altogether, or perhaps you are undecided, 202 7488002. To the state of georgia by now our focus. One of those states closely watched including by greg bluestein, political reporter. Good morning to you. Guest good morning. Host why georgia . Guest it is weird st. George is a battleground state, but it really is this year. Ill show a net can grace between President Trump and former Vice President joe biden. We also have two senate races up for grabs. That goes a long way in explaining why georgia has so much national attention. The reason why georgia is so close lies in two main factors, the suburbs of atlanta have slowly but surely flipped blue. 2016 when Hillary Clinton flipped two of the three biggest suburban counties. The other reason is the white vote. Polls show joe biden getting about 20 20 9 of the white vote in georgia. Racially polarized state like georgia, that means the state becomes competitive. 2016, hillaryt to clinton got only 21 of the thee vote for host white vote. Host how do you look at those who have already voted and those who expect to turn up . Record 3. 9ave a Million People who have already cast ballots the selection. Our turnout record in georgia is 4. 1 million. We have almost exceeded the entire 2016 turnout in georgia. Includingunties, bigger counties have already exceeded that. What the election day looks like, nobody knows. Figure, and this has historically been true, democrats tend to win the early vote. No one knows how much the surge in early voting has affected that if republicans and democrats are cannibalizing their election. What we do know is one Million People have been added to the role since 2016, making the electorate younger and more racially diverse than ever before. Host we are just seeing this coming over the wires. In spalding county, there are reports by cbs that all of the Voting Machines are down in that county. Talk about election machine security overall in light of this news . This is through one of the biggest issues we will be tracking. All day today. Election related issues. We have a new voting system. In the june primary, it was a disaster. We had hours long lines. People waiting up to 10 hours to vote. Bringing lawn chairs and accessories, which is always a problem. What we have heard so far is scattered issues not only in spalding county, but to cap Fulton County which is democratically leading leaning. What the secretary of state has warned of his long lines, urging people to be patient and stay in line. That is what democrats are saying too. Come with a plan and stay in line. Be patient. As it comes to results, will we find out tonight who wins georgia . Guest i do not think so. I think we will have a replay of 2018 between Stacey Abrams and Governor Kemp or there are still tens of thousands of mailin ballots that need to be tallied. Usually, those are always county counted, but there are an afterthought. As georgia has come closer and closer, no way can project the winners of the races without tallying those votes. We might have hundreds of thousands that remain to be counted. If you look at the margins in georgia in 2012, 2014, republicans won. In 2016, President Trump one by five points. In 2018, Governor Kemp by 1. 5 points. You can see the trendline getting closer and closer. Host lets highlight some of those races. David purdue against jon ossoff. What is important to know . Guest can polls. Youve got a former fortune 500 chief executive david purdue, who won a wideopen race in 20 2018 as an outsider. He wear a jean jacket. Calling himself the disrupter. Himself veryd closely with President Trump since 2016. He has pretrade himself as one of trumps ardent supporters. 2017ssoff gained fame in in the epic u. S. House race where he ended up losing to karen handel by four points, but raised 30 million in the process. Is running as an anticorruption advocate. Someone who will clean up washington and not be loyal to President Trump. With a Third Party Candidate in the race, there is a chance this race goes into a runoff even if hazel gets a point or two. Host a special senate race would be involved . Guest that is even more chaotic. There are 21 candidates to qualify. Was appointed by governor camp, she is a formal Financial Executive whose husband owns the Atlantic Company that runs the new york stock exchange. They have pumped more than 33 million in this campaign another part other republican campaigns since january, which is astonishing. Faces what is basically a republican primary challenger, gressman dog collins congressman doug collins who calls himself conservative. Candidates, or so has established himself as the overall frontrunner because he has been able to avoid attacks from republicans for most of the campaign. High 40s and low 30s and some point. Is greg bluestein, he reports for the atlanta journalconstitution. Ajc. Com is the website if you want to check out his work. Mr. Bluestein, thank you for your time. Guest thanks for having me. Host we will focus on a couple more states before we are done. We will hear from you too when it comes to the selection day. From mike in tucson, arizona. A supporter of joe biden. Caller thank you. I want to make a few observations. I support joe biden, i originally liked amy klobuchar. Highlighter platform and experience. I think joe is getting long in the tooth. That said, i called in this morning because everything i have heard on the opposite side is inaccurate. To military is never going kick indoors and take guns. It is illegal. We do not have the cleanest air and water in our history. As a matter of fact, he spent most of his presidency getting rid of environmental regulations. Communism, joe has never said lets turn this communist. Anythinghear them say actually true. They say he has done every possible thing he promised in his campaign. Build a wall and make mexico pay for it was pretty high on his list. He has not done that. The deal is not done. North korea, not done. Host bacteria support for joe biden for a second, specifically why are you supporting him . Guest caller we only really had two choices, lets be fair. Would have to i supported a Toyota Corolla over President Trump. Joe, i think he is an honorable person, i think he will do a decent job. But int my first choice, am more than happy to vote for him. He is a nice person who wont lie the entire time we hear him on tv. Host donald in port orange, florida. Supporter of President Trump. Caller hello. Host go ahead. Caller i am voting for trump today. The reason i have not voted yet is i want to make sure my vote does not get the reason i am voting for trumps because the last four years, democrats have done nothing but try to impeach trump. If they want to work with him, we would have gotten a lot more done. They fought him every single inch of the way for the last four years. Or than any other president has had to face. Votinghen it comes to today, what motivated you to wait today but not male in early . Caller i did not want to mail it in because i wanted to make sure it does count. I think most trump bands are going to vote today just to make sure that it is in there. I want to make sure that everything i was looking at is going to be sufficient before i threw my vote in. Host a Closing Argument from President Trump last night in grand rapids, michigan. Talking about the end of the campaign and his final words to supporters before the selection day. Heres a portion. [applause] we inherited the legacy of american patriots who gave their blood, sweat and tears to defend our country. We stand on the shoulders of american heroes who crossed the oceans, settled a continent, tema to the wilderness, laid down the railroads, lays the raised up the great skyscrapers, 12 world wars, defeated fascism and communism and made america into the single greatest nation in the history of the world. The best is yet to come. [applause] host this is ron texting is from tennessee, the country is needing a change. Vote for america, not a crazy person. Please vote. Thestephanie in michigan, voices are democracy or autocracy, it is easy. Joe biden will not bring the people together. All of this divisions darted because President Trump supported the american people, not the government. Joe biden in these final days of the campaign, president obama, he [video clip] this is the last chance. This is his last chance to explain why we should give him four more years. What you hear him talking about is his inauguration crowd being smaller than mine. Is whatur years, that he is working at. Let it go. What is his obsession with crowd size . Does he have Nothing Better to worry about . Did nobody come to his Birthday Party when he was a kid . [laughter] that is the difference between Joanne Donald trump right now. That is the difference between joe and donald trump. Joe cares about you, your safety and security. Trump cares about feeding his ego. [applause] i understand the full credit wants to take full credit for the economy he inherited, but zero credit for the pandemic. That it that doesnt work that way. Jeff got to have a plan and put in the work. Along with the experience, joe biden has concrete plans and policies to turn our vision of a better stronger country into reality. He takes this pandemic seriously. He knows how much it hurts for grandparents and grandkids who cant see each other or hug each other. He has not going to scrub tests. He is not going to call scientists idiots. Or, accuse medical professionals of trying to profit from the pandemic. After all they have been through. Ridiculous. Shameful. Come on. Off twitter, my daughter just waited in line for 45 minutes at 6 00 a. M. To vote in connecticut. Supportrida, i President Trump because of his deregulation policies especially concerning covid19. Regulation, the Covid Vaccine would be an idea rather than reality. Tove saying, i did not want wait six to eight hours. Elliott into your, undecided. Hello. Caller how are you . Host i am well. Caller i listened to a gentleman that was talking about the thirdparty candidate. It is very simple, i own a Small Business in manhattan. My name is peter elliott. Of 330 Million People in our country, we need to look in the mirror. We could have done better. A lot better. Bankrupt morally congress, a morally bankrupt government. We need a third party. Party,t should be the cs the common sense party. As far as mr. Biden and mr. Trump, it is a pity this is what we have to choose from. If i do vote, and i am going to, that was a bad if, i will vote for joe biden. Everybody andause his cabinet stupid, when a man is an obvious misogynist, when a man has no morals whatsoever, when his son speaks on tv host because you claimed you decided, i am going to stop it there. Michael in andrews, North Carolina. Caller yes sir. I would like to do a fact check against President Trump. His he said after he he elected in 2016 that elected himself. That means he disavowed everybody that voted for him. I will never vote for somebody that my vote does not count to that person. Host why are you voting for joe biden . Voting for joe biden because he talks like he has got some common sense. He is going to listen to scientists and help us through this pandemic. Should be held for treason against United States people for letting that into this country, knowing how bad it was in china. Host ok. Lets hear from a supporter of President Trump. This is alton in delaware. Caller yes sir. In, thelling to weigh text message with the lady. She was talking about. For some of the things trump talks about, i am not four. Where i am matt is, he is a president that cap put into a situation rat the end you have covid kicking in. He is doing what he is doing, helping out. I understand you have people with no masks going out in public, doing what they want. And then they want to blame President Trump for the spread of the coronavirus. What people do not realize is that in the end, the president is the back ball person. Thes the person that when congress and people in government make different rules, oh, its the president. Host isnt he ultimately responsible . Caller of course. The good thing about the president is even though he has final say so, he doesnt have final say so. Host why are you voting to support the president . Heler the first four years, had to work off whatever the last president had going on, whether he is making that better or worse. Give him another four years. Give him a chance to see what is going on, what he can make better. If he doesnt, he cant be president again. Host dover delaware, sub porter f President Trump. Fromll continue hearing you about election day and talking to reporters too. Brian murphy, who focuses on North Carolina. Hello. Guest how are you doing . Host when it comes to the audience, North Carolina is a battleground state. Why . Dividedt is an evenly state. It has been close in the last few elections. It went to trump in 2016. If you look at a path to victory for President Trump, it has to include North Carolina. President 016, the winning, what is it looking like . Guest [no audio] host i believe we are having Internet Connection problems. Are you there . Guest i apologize. Host go ahead. Guest all of the polling shows a statistical tie. Biden has been ahead by one or two points in nearly every pulled on recently. There has been a heavy early voter turnout in North Carolina. More than 4. 5 million votes have been cast. Absentee, by mail or in person. Those results will be known shortly after polls closed. Host what is the process for counting those polls . Will that be done tonight definitely . Guest the state board of elections says 97 of votes will be counted by the end of the night. North carolina has won a recent case in the Supreme Court that says they can count votes postmarked by election day received all the november 12. Down toversal is 130,000 and expected to shrink today. We may have a result in North Carolina by midnight, or shortly thereafter. Host what is the expectation for people turning out today to vote . Guest that is a big question. Seen the Biden Campaign makes up line that would put todays turn out at about 600,000 per it ive seen estimates that indicate may be 800,000. Biden or the democrats are leading through the early vote, it is going to be early difficult for trump or republican candidates like Tom Tillerson to make that up if the universe of people who vote today is less than one million. Host if to pour looking at it on a map, what particular areas are you focusing on . Are focusing on wade county and mecklenburg county. They want to run up the margins in those two blue counties. That ring them are counties that have voted for donald trump in the past. Can republicans keep their margin over 60 in those counties, or do democrats start to eat at those . New hanoverch county voted for donald trump by about [no audio] will that county swing back to the democrats . The northmentioned Carolina Senate race. One of the things other people are looking at. Talk people through the race, the players involved, and why it is important. Guest senator Tom Tillerson is running for a second term. His challenger is cal cunningham. It is the most expensive race in u. S. History. Over 285 million have been spent by the candidates and outside groups. It may determine which Party Controls the [no audio] a sizable lead, the largest lead in North Carolina. He was hit with an infidelity scandal. A personal scandal about whether or not he had mistresses, sending texts to a woman who was not his wife. We have seen tightening in the polls, although all of the polls still indicate cunningham has maybe two or three point lead. Cunningham has not spoken to the media since october 9. He has gone into Guerrilla Campaign mode where he pops up at events and talks to voters. He has largely shied away from any [no audio] [indiscernible] guest [indiscernible] host its ok. Brian murphy, covering all things North Carolina. Carolina. Ses on north thanks for your time. Guest i appreciate it. Host this finishes up close to two hours we have been taking calls and talking to reporters. We have one more hour to go on the selection day. Are about the candidate you supporting, talk about your voting experience, maybe youre , asing to vote until today some have told us. You can let us know on the lines. If you support joe biden, call us at 202 7488000. If you are supporting President Trump and Vice President pence, 202 7488001. For several of you supporting other candidates, or maybe undecided, 202 7488002. We will go to michael in indiana. A supporter of joe biden. Go ahead. Caller i just wanted to say i do not know why anybody would vote for this president or any republican that supports him because it is just not conservative or family values to vote for someone that has filed for bankruptcy six times. What could possibly go wrong . University. E that is not conservative or family values. He works with russia, according to the Senate Intelligence committee, to undermine our elections. Thats treason. Host we are looking at joe biden get off the plane as he continues campaigning. Tell us why you are supporting joe biden. Caller he has created more jobs in six months than trump has in four years. Hedid not lie 22,000 times, is honest, has credibility. Host when you say he created more jobs, how do you qualify that . Caller the reports of the Washington Post and the New York Times. Trump has created zero jobs, net jobs, and here we are several months away from four years. He has created zero jobs. Host ok. Lets go to claudia in waynesville, North Carolina, a supporter of President Trump. Caller i have voted. I voted early in person. It was safe. I did not have a long wait. I am in a small town, of course. Masks, social distancing, sanitizer, and qtips to hit the a safemachine, so it was experience, a good experience, but i wanted to say why i am supporting trump. I tried to go from fox to see to cnn to msnbc. I have looked at those platforms. Platform and trump what he has done, mainly. He has supported the black colleges with funding, and longterm funding, not your shortterm. He is for Charter Schools for all kids, low income and higher income, which is great for their education. He has made us energy independent, which i feel like is very important, not to give away american interests to other countries or be beholden to them for energy, which supports our lifestyles. The economy is coming back. Americass in the sovereignty. I do not think we should exclude all immigration, but i think immigration needs some reform. And every nation in the world once sovereignty. Wants sovereignty. Host that is claudia listing reasons she supports President Trump. A supporter of joe biden from maryland, this is pamela. Caller thank you. I have seen in my lifetime what the portals of hell look like in the United States in trumps america and i do not like it one bit. That is why i voted for biden. It is a referendum on trump. Biden will protect my Social Security. Trump said he would end the payroll tax. That would bring Social Security to an end in 2023. Work on controlling the virus, like he and obama did with h1n1 and ebola, and like the United States when we were confronted with polio. That was not red states against blue states. They worked towards a cure for the United States. Trump has already killed 230,000 souls and he will kill 200,000 more if he is left in office between now and february. Last but not least, biden will unite this country, as opposed to trump and his deplorables that hate america and everything it stands for. Deplorables that hate america and everything it stands for. Host from tennessee, hello. Caller i voted third party. I voted for jo jordgensen. Research and i liked what she was talking about. With everybodyis today, just get along and vote. No matter who you vote for, vote for someone. Vote for who you believe each who you believe in. Host caller, what was the standout feature for jo jordgensen . Caller im glad you asked. A couple months ago, i think you were talking to her or that other guy. She went into real detail about what she believed in, or values, and i liked her. Reparations and the marijuana issue, reform. Candidate ifor a like. I did vote for the democrats, 2008. In 2012 and jorgenson was my choice. America, lets get along. Host one more question, larry, if i may. If you tell people that you are voting for her, i think you may hear something along the lines of why would you waste your vote . How would you respond . Caller that is an easy answer. Not feel like i wasted my bow and that is all that matters, honestly. Everybody vote. Of the day, it could be a trump supporter or a biden supporter that has a good heart. We all have to get along. Tennesseey in smyrna, talking about his support for jo jorgensen. One thing you have probably been watchingour those are those political ads that have been flooding the airwaves. We will show you two more, one from the Trump Campaign and one from the Biden Campaign. [video clip] you have some smug democrat calling you racist and tried to jam one hand in your face and another in your pocket. Taxes are down, jobs are up, the economy is way up. Landed. E eagle has say hello to president donald j. Trump. He is not just making America Great again. Trump is doing things no president has ever done before. Keeping promises, protecting the border, rebuilding our military, things joe biden did not do. Jobs, drugtion, prices nobody has better numbers. The game has changed and the democrats are officially crazy, so make America Great. Staying with trump in 2020. Stand with trump in 2020. [video clip] scranton, pennsylvania. Here success is not handed down. It is forged with sweat, grit, and determination. This is his hometown. In scranton, good times are not promised, but here, and in towns oss america, towns times are harder than they ought to be. On hold, pause, dreams futures in doubt. He is running to change that, to give working people the shot they deserve and honest pay for honest work and a little peace of mind at the end of the day, because these streets are part of him, this place stays with him. This is more than where he is from. It is who he is for. I am joe biden and i approve this message. Host you may have noticed that last ad narrated by bruce springsteen. A supporter of joe biden, hello. Caller the reason why i support joe biden is simple. Been endorsed by generals and National Security leaders. They signed a letter endorsing him. Also, the 400 89 top brass military called trump unfit for office. John kelly, john matus, general mcmaster have called this a morand, in idiot, and a fifth grader. John bolton has called this president an existential threat to the United States. This has all been further confirmed by trumps very own sister, who is a federal judge, marianne trump. They have her on secret recording saying he is a liar. He is a cheater. Host so is it matters of National Security that are top of your list and that is why you are supporting biden . Caller that and other reasons. The guy is simply unfit for office, you know . He is a liar. He is unworthy of the position and i think the country deserves better. Joe biden was not my first choice, just to let you know. However, i do believe he is a much better choice than donald trump. Donald trump is a con artist. He is a narcissist, textbook narcissist, and i do not understand the trump supporter. How can you discount all of these people who do not even know each other who are saying the same thing about this president . Angelesvid in los giving us his assessment of why he is supporting joe biden. You can do the same for the remainder of this hour we have. A couple more stops along the way featuring reporters in key states we are paying attention to. Iowa being one of those. Joining us for that conversation the chief politics reporter from the des moines register. Thank you for joining us. Guest good morning. Host i suppose some people would say iowa is a battleground state. Tell us why. Guest there is a good reason to question that. Trump carriedd the state by 9. 4 . I think a lot of people going into this election thought it would be another easy victory for him, but it has proven to be much closer. Iowa saw gains for democrats in the 2018 midterms, so now they are building on that into 2020. Joe biden was in the state this week campaigning. A lot of polling has shown this race can net, including at the des moines register. In september, we showed them to be tied. Polls show trump pulling ahead in the final days. Todayl wait and see whether he ends up being able to pull it out, but it was a much closer race than a lot of people expected. Host that base coalescing. What areas of the state are responsible for that . Iowa. some parts of white men in particular. Independents appear to be coalescing. We are also looking to the suburbs, just like everywhere in the country, to see how those voters swing things and whether there is enough support there among women in particular to give joe biden an edge. Host we have been talking all morning about people who voted early versus people who will vote today. Break that down for us. Iowans about 51 of voted prior to election day. That polling showed about what you would expect, that democrats are voting early. They are mailing and their ballots, showing up in person to vote early, and republicans are largely waiting until election day to cast their ballots. So it will be interesting to see, as we get results, how that affects things. Iowa was able to start counting its absentee ballots yesterday and so some of those should be available quite early. I think we will see a democratic edge in those early returns and then throughout the night, as we get results from in person voting, i think republicans are likely to make up a lot of that ground. Host we saw issues with tabulation at the iowa caucuses. Does that come into play in this election . Guest they are a totally different animal. I think it has given iowa a glimpse into what can happen if you are not prepared, and especially if you do not set expectations correctly. I think there have been much better expectations set going into this, saying there is a lot happening we have not done before. Maybe have some patients. Did not doo that that in the iowa caucuses. People were expecting results as soon as they were over and that clearly did not happen. Expectation setting is different and this is a totally different system. The caucuses are run by parties and this is a state run election. The state has a much bigger handedness than it does in the caucuses. I think we are hoping tonight runs much more smoothly. Host when it comes to expectations, what have officials told you about whether we will know tonight who gets iowa . Guest there is a very good chance we know who wins iowa anight assuming it is not very close race that needs to go into a recount. Election officials are telling us that they will be able to process those votes relatively quickly, that we should have the numbers tonight. Host one of the races aside from the president ial race is the senate race featuring the incumbent, joni ernst. Talk about the race for those who may not be following it closely and where those candidates live. Guest this is a key race if democrats are looking to regain a majority. This is the second most expensive race for senate in the country, behind North Carolina. There are people putting resources into this to try to swing it away from republicans. Joni ernst is the republican, elected in 2014, so she is seeking a second term. By is being challenged democrat theresa greenfield, a businesswoman who has never held office before. She has run a campaign challenging joni ernst on health care. She has really targeted senator ernst for voting to repeal the Affordable Care act. She has said i will be an advocate for farmers, an independent voice for iowans. It has been a close race. This is another that has been close throughout. Pulling had shown greenfield up by about 3 through the duration of this election. And the registers recent polling showed the base coalescing around ernst. 4 lead. Hem a 1. 4 lead. Host what are you watching tonight . Guest turnout. If republicans we have seen the early vote surge. That favors democrats. But if republicans are able to make that up tonight, that could really do some good for them. So we will be watching turnout, different parts of the state, the rural areas, the suburbs. We will be waiting to see whether joni ernst is able to pull this out. It will be interesting to see if donald trump wins the state, the republicans hold onto the senate. That is a real possibility. Joining us very early from iowa, the des moines registers chief politics editor. Thank you for your time. Guest thank you. Lake jean is next in twin michigan. Before we go to them, we will show you joe biden again. We told you that he was expecting to visit some states today, particularly pennsylvania. Lets hear a little bit of what he has to say. [video clip] can you hear me . My name is joe biden. Scranton. In by the way, you know, you have we had to move. Things kind of fell apart. Was electedndfather to the state senate and the state of pennsylvania. In the state of pennsylvania from scranton. It is good to be home. I know everybody says, why do you keep going home . Home almost every summer. [indiscernible] again, thats joe biden, live in scranton, pennsylvania. The kid from scranton, as he usually bills himself. A little on this final day, making a pitch. For his part, the president appearing on fox news this morning to talk about his campaign. This story from the fox website saying, the president expressed confidence in securing reelection, saying he has a solid chance of winning another four years, and insisting he will not play games in declaring victory. Said tovery good, he is have said. There is more of that if you want to go to the fox news website and check it out. Apologize apologies to jean. Go ahead. I forget which station it was on, but i am a political junkie. I will give you a little background. At 18, i am listed in the army. Inpent two years overseas something called the Army Security agency. I found out there were more liars in the United States than any other country that i dealt with. You hear everybody saying that President Trump is a liar, liar, liar, and everybody else tells the truth, whatever, but i remember mr. Biden, Vice President biden at the time, when they passed the health care. If you like your doctor, you can keep your dr. If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. Judgeen along comes a that was supposed to be the chief justice of the supreme the policye changed tax, and the Supreme Court has no right to tax. I will get back to what i started with. Trump has done five of his major items that he had on there. Everybody has said he has not done anything. The other things he has personally done are not finished. In twin lake, gene michigan. Texas, ao to jeanie in supporter of joe biden. Hello. Caller good morning. I wanted to comment on my churchgoing friends that will vote provide vote for abortionause of the issue and what is going on now with trump and the virus and all the remarks he has made. Can you please explain to me which is worse, among other things, but that is my comment. Host why are you voting for joe biden . Because of the calmness that it gives me. And i dont know. Host ok. Caller the democrats are just so disheartened with the way the last few years have been, and it is just disheartening. Host ok. President trump, this is paul in allen, oklahoma. Caller yes, thank you for having me on. I am voting for donald trump because he has been a good president that has been treated very unfairly by the press. I told the screener that all the big cities and all the businesses boarding up their windows because they are scared of election day violence. They are not doing that because they are scared of Trump Supporters. Trump supporters will be disappointed, but they will not burn down cities, and that should be enough reason to vote for donald trump. A specificr as policy issue, is there a reason you are supporting trump . Caller standing up to the iranians, moving the embassy to israel, everything he has done. He has been treated unfairly. People say he is a liar. He could say it is going to rain and it didnt and would call him a liar. I have watched joe biden for the last 30, 40 years. He would not have made a good president 20 years ago. I think he is a puppet. I watched his last speech and it was 20 minutes of an old man screaming get off my lawn to kids. I love cspan. Host we will go to lawton, oklahoma, an undecided viewer. This is rick. Hello. Caller hello, sir. Thank you for having me on your show. I appreciate it. Vote fordecided i will trump over biden, mainly because of bidens and harriss policies. I have been through both. Initially, when they published their policies. I went through them again yesterday. Too many changes. To meet swaying, trying wantshey think the public versus what they say they will do. Host rick in oklahoma there. A joe bidenmarie, supporter in district heights, maryland. Hello. Caller good morning. I want to, about Trump Supporters saying i want to make a comment about Trump Supporters saying they are waiting to today to vote. They are aware of all the interference that has happened already on the trump and republican side with voter suppression. The comments about mailin voting is not reliable, early voting, bla, bla. They know that, and they want their votes counted. They know what their candidate is doing to adversely affect the meal in process. Ofond, the army lawyers. Trump has threatened lawsuits after election day. There ought to be an army of opposing lawyers ready to file the rule 11 motion as soon they file any of those lawsuits in a federal court. Host ok, so why are you supporting joe biden . Caller because he is a decent man, a man of character. He is an honest man and does not tell lies. He cares about the people, about all americans. Patriot. He does not do and say the treasonous things mr. Trump does and trump is not trustworthy and i would not want to put my life in his hands. Host that is marie in district heights, maryland talking about her support for joe biden. We have about a half hour left as this programs come as this Program Comes to a close. You can talk about your support for either candidate. Call us on the lines, post on our social media, too. We have been doing short interviews throughout the morning with reporters in various states that a lot of people are keeping an eye on, particularly texas. Political writer for the Dallas Morning News. Thank you for joining us. Guest glad to be here on this election day. Host lets start with why texas . Has long been a republican stronghold. A democratic president ial candidate has not one here 1976,t won here since when carter beat ford, but that could change tonight. Voting has been intense. 9. 8 million have voted early already. That is more than the people who voted in total in 2016. Have tell you democrats about 10. 5 Million People to vote total. It could be 12 Million People who vote when it is all said and done. That, in theory, bodes well for biden. Gives himd electorate a better chance of winning texas even though it has been reliably red. Host as far as pulling polling is concerned, what is the difference between the two . Guest it is margin of error polling. Are some polls that show biden leading. The Dallas Morning News had a poll with biden leading. It is within the margin of error and it has been like that throughout the summer and fall. And a margin of error rates is a race you have to take seriously. Error race is a race you have to take seriously. It will be cringe worthy. Republicans will be up all night worrying about it. We will have to see. There is a chance that democrats can break through. Host how many expected to vote in person today . Guest you know, a few million. That is expected to be largely a vote that favors republicans. As i heard listening to the show, republicans have been waiting until election day for whatever reason. Votetially, the republican statewide here on election day is larger than the democratic vote. The question is how much of a lead did the Democrats Bank with early voting and can they also get voters out on election day . Are there new voters in this process that wove that will wait for election day and vote for biden . Host when it comes to the legal challenges to these votes, we have had a couple leading up today. Talk about the state of the legal challenges. Guest there was one in Harris County where 127,000 ballots were at stake that were cast as socalled drivethru voting locations. A judge held those ballots can be counted, 127,000 of them. So that is positive if you want every vote counted. Also, Harris County officials one decided to only have drivethru location for election day. That is at a place that is building. They do not want to put other ballots at risk because of these legal challenges that are going on, so it was a victory for democrats. Republicans were able to knock down the drivethru locations in Harris County down to one. Host what is the policy for counting ballots . Is it starting today . Guest it has already started. It has not been publicly released. Generally, right after the polls close, at 7 10, we will get a drop, and you will see all the early vote totals there. And that will give you an indication of where the state is going. Of course, election day is also important. But you will have a little preview right after the polls closed today. Host how has the state determined when they will announce a winner . Has there been discussion on that front . Guest that depends it is a big state. It depends on when the votes are counted. Every county is different. Some counties do a better job of counting votes and others. Votes than others. There are smaller counties. There are sometimes glitches on election day that you have to deal with. We are expecting a long night just because it is a big ballot, a lot of races, a lot of interest, so they tend to try to get it right here, so it could be an early night if there is a decisive winner in some of these races, but, then again we could have a long night. I do not expected to go weeks or days. Expect it to go weeks or days, too far beyond election day, but we will be ready for a long night. Host one of those races of interest is the senate race in texas featuring john cornyn and his challenger. Talk to us about that. Guest a lot of that depends on the president ial contest. There is not a lot of straight ticket there is straight ticket voting in texas. There is no straight ticket voting in texas. You have to vote for the candidate. Corn and has been in office since 2003. Senator cornyn has been in office since 2003. It depends on the trump vote. I talked to the senator. He said, hey, with 12 million potential voters, that is uncharted territory in texas. He feels like he is winning. A 4, 5, 6ose race, point race maybe, but you do not know, with all these voters in the process, how they will break. If biden wins texas, then i can challenger also having a strong chance of winning as well. Keep in mind, a democrat has not won a statewide race in texas since 1994. Host why do you think senator cornyn is facing such a challenge this time around . Guest he is not only running he ist the democrat, running against the political climate. There is an antitrump climate in urban areas. He has lost support in suburbs. Push bye is a strong progressive activists to register voters, track those voters, and have a turnout tonight thats big. This turnout you are seeing is empowered in part by antitrump sentiment, but also by democrats that have been working hard for years to try to climb back into contention in texas. Athis is still a strong state that leans republican, so cornyn has a strong base of support, but the unknown is how well did the democrats do in organizing in 2016, how strong is that antitrump sentiment . , isrump is the president that an albatross for john cornyn . We will see. Host when it comes to hagar, what is the message . Guest it is time to have representatives in government that care about the issues that people care about in her view, and that includes health care, democracy issues, standing up to the president or your party, things like that. She is running as someone with an independent voice in texas and a candidate who can appeal to not just the emerging demographic of voters but also the suburban women who may feel disaffected because they typically vote republican but are disgruntled with the president and some of the republicans in power now. Host that race and other things will be watched by Robert Jeffers of the Dallas Morning News. Guest the democrats may take the texas house for the First Time Since 2001. They are nine seats away. In severalood shots counties. Keep an eye on that. Mayy be poor likely be more likely than biden beating trump. The Robert Jeffers is Political Writer for the Dallas Morning News. Thank you. We will go to darlene, who joins us from south dakota in rapid city. Darlene, go ahead. Caller hi. I am so glad i was able to get through. I appreciate your show. I am voting today and the reason why i am voting today is because my whole life it has been on a tuesday. It has nothing to do with being a republican. I am native american. Left Pine Ridge Reservation when he was a young boy with dreams of becoming a veterinarian. He met and married my mom and we were all baptized at the church here in rapid city, saint matthews. He left because there was nothing there. He died young. We did go to a government boarding school. There were obstacles that, as i got older, me and my sister look back and we were each others psychologists, you could say. But my stepdad was not native. We got out of south dakota for a while and got to see the world, the south, and i love the south. Just throughout my life, going to my first job, it was like you need to get up early because you are responsible for getting there. I know why my dad left the reservation. He wanted us to have an education. He knew there was nothing there and the only thing we would have anything is to integrate into the new society. And it is money. You earn money, get your security from there, pay Social Security, and that is just the way america began for us. We have only been a captured people for 140 years. Haday, we never expectations that people would hand us things, that we had to work for them. I am a grandmother now and i love it. I look to the future, and what i am hoping for is a president that does make America Great. Today, i looked at both sides. Listening to biden, he just does not seem to be able to even talk or recite any policies. And, looking out at president and,one so far, i would looking at what President Trump has done so far, i would like to see more things made in america. Host thank you. That is darlene in south or coda in south dakota. Lets go to a supporter of President Trump in tennessee. Hello. Caller i support President Trump for several reasons. Fault. Ing is his he has had four years to clean up obamas mess. He has brought more jobs, better pay. To a a police i talked Police Corporal yesterday who told me he is making more money now than he ever has. He did not make the virus. He has not killed all these people. He cannot make people wear masks, social distancing, and all of that. People are worried about getting their hair done and going to a bar. That is what is killing people. The man needs four more years. Host have you voted for him already or are you voting today . Caller i have not voted yet. I am voting today. I was not able to do the early voting due to my schedule. However, i need to say this. Biden cannot even tell his wife if that was his wife coming up on stage. How in the world is that man going to run a country . Nancy pelosi wants in office. People need to wake up and realize that. Host we will go to bill in texas, a supporter of joe biden. Good morning. Caller i am totally bewildered how Trump Supporters and out party and a party, the republican party, which calls itself the party of family anues, can support such amoral, unethical, sociopathic liar, and it has been proven, empirically proven that this man lies each time he opens his mouth. I cannot really understand. Dr. Frank and when people say these people are part of a cult and what people say these people are part of a cold, i am convinced of that, because they have no critical thinking. Supportingre you biden . Guest he has integrity caller he has integrity and ethics and the countrys best interest. Host how so . Caller he wants the country to be better. Wants toto get you get a green deal going. Host do you think that will affect places like texas that depend on oil for a lot of revenue . Caller that i am not sure of, but they can certainly be affected by the green deal with all of those things that are involved in that. The oil is you know, it needs to be dealt with as well because it is destroying the planet, but we do not necessarily have to stop fracking and take away the whole oil business itself, but i certainly think it needs to be diminished. Host ok. Lets go to kyle in buffalo, new york, a supporter of trump. Good morning. Caller good morning, pedro. I live in new york state, which always goes blue anyway, which is unfortunate. A lot of earlier callers, especially the africanamerican historicaled out policies that affected africanamericans. Some of these policies have pushed us to the bottom and keep us there. But biden has been part of the problem. A lot of these policies that were signed, and im going back to the crime bill with bill clinton. Fortunately, donald trump has issued that new Prison Reform bill. He did not have to. I just looked at the democratic policies over the years, the jim crow, a lot of the different policies that really affected people of color, and it is really hard to me to sit and vote democratic because of those historical issues. I know President Trump is not perfect, but, i mean, he is almost one of the first at least white president s talk more for black issues. Host did you vote for him in 2016 . Caller i did. Host what led you to back then . I was tired of career politicians, apologies. Right or wrong, stand up. Take ownership of what you say. Host that is kyle in buffalo talking about his support for President Trump. We will go to yorktown, virginia, a supporter of joe biden. This is jean. Hello. Caller thank you for taking my call. The bill in 1994, they want to hold biden accountable for that, but they do not realize what transpired, and the fact that trump took an ad out on the central park five. I will stick to my points. The recentation, trailing of the biden bus. Lets talk about the flag. Wantst to criticize, 45 to criticize, those who do not kneel for the flag. I am a soldier. I am a patriot. We do not want to talk about or at hisis riot, speaking events, where he displayed air force one coming out, but people brought in another flag. They are replicating the flag with the blue stripe. I am definitely supportive of Law Enforcement, but it needs to be reformed. And lets talk about host lets talk about support of joe biden. Exactly why are you supporting him . Caller integrity, ethics. Host are you supporting joe biden or not . Caller yes i am. We talk about his ethics, integrity, belief. Lets talk about patriotism. Did trump serve, did his son serve, are they even registered for selective service, as well as his soninlaw . One thing that got me with trump was the bus incident. Grabbing women no respect. Host ok. We go to minnesota, supporter of President Trump. This is john. Caller i would like to leave a couple comments and then tell you i think trump will win tonight. My comments are that i really press being the watchdogs of our country as far as news. I also miss the word dislike versus hate. It seems like truth is hate to those who hate truth, but onto President Trump. You have to figure out why he deserves to be turned out of office as an incumbent, number one, and then you have to vote your pocketbook, two. Host so why are you supporting him exactly . Caller for those two reasons. I do not think he deserves to be turned out as an incumbent and i vote my pocketbook. Eventually, it might not happen right away, but things will hit south with the policies host that is john in minnesota talking about his support of trump. This election day, we will go into the evening if you want to find out place to watch results. A place to watch results. You can watch on our network tonight starting at 9 00,. Org,or on cspan listen on the cspan radio app. Results already coming in. The five votes in that town in New Hampshire cast for joe biden. The last time a candidate got every vote there was 60 years ago when it was Richard Nixon beating john f. Kennedy 90. When it comes to Closing Arguments, we will show you a bit from each president , starting with trump. [video clip] if biden and harris and the radical left game power, they will send our nation into a steep depression. That is what will happen. This is the only man i have ever seen run for office on the fact that he wents to give you that he wants to give you the largest tax increase in the history of our country. He has no idea what the hell he is saying. Here is his line. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to give you the biggest tax increase in the history of our country. Trillion. 4 4 trillion. That is his campaign. And they are going to put the money in the green new deal, which is conceived and designated by aoc plus three, right . This is there deal. I do not think they ever took an environmental course. I do not think they ever took a course on the environment, but wants tots to raise raise taxes, increase regulations. The regulations may have been even more important than the big tax cuts. You got the biggest cuts ever and you know it. You know it. You saw that in a very good place. You know where . Your wallet. You felt in your wallet. They went to close your factories, send your jobs overseas, destroy the suburbs. Women of the suburbs, please. I wiped out a regulation that would have destroyed your homes, to put it mildly. It would have destroyed your american dream. President trump in michigan, grand rapids, finishing up before heading back. He and the Vice President expected to watch results at the white house today. For his part, the biden Campaign Still out campaigning even on election day, making a pitch in pennsylvania yesterday. [video clip] let me tell you something, folks. Tomorrow is the beginning of a new day. Can put an end to a presidency that has left hardworking americans out in the cold. Tomorrow, we can put an and to to a presidency that has fanned the flames of hate, that has failed to protect this nation. Ladies and gentlemen, millions have already voted. Millions more will vote tomorrow. My message to you is simple. The power to change this country is in your hands, in your hands. I do not care how hard donald trump tries. There is nothing, nothing, that will stop the people of this nation from voting. Period. And when america votes, america will be heard. When america is heard, i believe that that should be loud and clear. It is time for donald trump to pack his bags and go home. Full again, both of those speeches are available at cspan. Org if you want to go there and see them for yourself. As we take this next call from pennsylvania, a trump supporter, matt, we will show you headlines from todays newspapers. Matt, go ahead. Caller im calling to say i voted for trump to keep America Great, get our streets clean from these hoodlums on the left side. Host specifically, what do you mean by that . Caller i mean, they destroy their own cities. Come on, dude. You are going to destroy someones property . Some people should be put down in my eyes. Host ok. We are not going to we will stop it there. Sandra in new york. By the way, caller, sentiments like that, you have to be very careful on this network. Just to let you know. Sandra, go ahead. Caller i voted for joe biden because i cannot vote for a president who refuses to condemn whites a white supremacy. Say votingeople who for biden would be communism did not seem to have a problem accepting a stimulus check. I definitely do not think a man who has barely paid a dime in taxes will actively do anything to lower the taxes of those who his wealth is built upon. Host what about biden do you support specifically as far as policy . Caller a policy i really like is making public universities three free for students whose parents have a combined income of 100 when he 5,000 or less. 125,000 or less. A bachelors degree is equivalent to a diploma from high school at this point. Host that is sandra new york. We will go to max in lodi, california. A supporter of trump. Caller good morning, pedro. You are doing a wonderful job. I will get to the point. Nobody is talking about isis and al qaeda. Instead of eight years of bush and eight years of obama, our president in three years cleared out al qaeda and isis. Bringing our boys home. His overseas work has been outstanding. Plus, he calmed down north korea, that was almost on the verge of a war when obama handed it off to trump. I will tell you what he did do. He has also cleaned up the borders and has made it lawful how to get in and out of the country. He did not have the fbi spying on his opposition like the obama and biden administration. Undernter biden is investigation by the fbi right now and nobody is talking about it. Biden is not pure as the driven snow. His son would not be under investigation right now by the fbi they did not do something wrong with china. Also, china is making 90 of our drugs. And showing that that does not work. And trump is showing that that does not work. To charlotte in tuscaloosa, alabama, a supporter of joe biden. Good morning. Caller good morning. Yes, i am supporting biden and harris. I already voted. I am a 70yearold black woman that supports unity, love. Not division and hate. This man, trump, has done that to this United States. We are called americans. I, at the end of american is c, a, n. I can. We can as a people. We need to come together. When i look at the news, i am looking at trump with his rhetoric of hatred with these people that are coming out to stop the voting of black people. He has done that. He has done it to the Postal Service. He has done it with the courts, but we are here. I am an american. Host we will go to becky in massachusetts. Becky, a supporter of President Trump. Hello. Caller yes, good morning. How are you. Host go ahead. Caller caller i am getting ready to go vote. , usually work the elections but not today. Last time i worked the primaries, i got sick afterwards. It was not the covid, which i got tested for, it was inhaling too much disinfectant. Host the first lady making her way as part of the election day activities. We are showing you that now. A will go to jodi in iowa, supporter of biden in marion, hello. Caller i would like to say that please, anybody that can get to the voting polls today, please do. We need everybodys support. To the person talking about isis and north korea and so forth, i think there is more to that than meets the eye. I believe that trump sold out to isis and or somehow north korea. And, you know, maybe even china to a certain degree. Who knows, actually, what is going on . Host what do you base that on . Caller just the fact that didnt trump set up a meeting where he was going to invite isis to one of the military bases . Which did not pan out too well. I am sure there were other back channels that may had gotten to them. And really, totally, they drop off the map. Host i apologize. We will have to let you go to take care of a couple of things. Our Election Night coverage at 9 00. You can watch on cspan, cspan. Org, our radio app. Tune in tomorrow morning, five hours, 7 00 to noon, to talk about.
