And the idea was this was a temporary ban and the idea was to bar, migrants or immigrants from countries that couldnt vent them. That those governments could not be trusted to verify whether these people were terrorists or criminals or what have you so it was a simple prudential Safety Measures for americans. The resistance was already in full force. They had demonstrations in airports. They got friendly judges to file injunctions against the trump temporary measure. People who describe themselves as progressives at the best they can from a different premise, on the premise where actually born free but a lot of people are not free and are not living up to the potential because they are being oppressed by institutions that impose on them and oppressive status quo. Theres truth to both of these views but which you choose to emphasize runs very deep in your character and your sensible politics is about. I think a free society does need them both but it seems me openly the conservative view offers what Society Needs most which is a sense of how social order can also enable justice. The crisis we know to be a social crisis, its about how we connect with each other, about how we understand ourselves as individuals to be part of a larger whole, a crisis of ammunition, isolation not only Political Polarization but in private lives of many people i kind of desperation that leads people to opioids, that leads to a nose increase in the suicide rate over recent years. I argue a lot of that has to do with the weakening of our institution and particularly with a sense on the part of love people within those institutions that the purpose of the institutions not to form them, is not to mold them but is to serve as a platform for them, to stand on and be seen and build a following or build our own brand or elevate themselves. Theres been this the formation of our core institutions from politics to the professions to the media to the cabin where a lot of people now think of the institutions they are part of as existing as platform for themselves rather than as most of our character and our behavior.
