The film follows a Korean-American family that moves from California to an Arkansas farm to grow Korean fruits and vegetables. A foul-mouthed, loving grandmother arrives, changing everything, and the film depicts the resilience of one family determined to make a home in America.
Released in 2020, "Minari" was written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung. It racked up six Academy Awards nominations and one win – Best Supporting Actress for Yuh-jung Youn – as well as a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, and other accolades.
