They hate war a whole lot worse than politicians do. They are the last people who wanting to to war but if they are called to it they will do it the way they are trained to do it. What donald trump is really saying, guys, we dont want to have a war, if you want to start one, we are not just going to play around, we will finish it. That brings people to the negotiating table in a way that barack obama never understood because they knew he was never going to engage them and they knew that he would put out a very weak first offer and it would only get weaker. What we are seeing in donald trump is the kind of leadership we saw with Ronald Reagan which was he scares the daylights out of them. They think hes a cowboy. Now, how do we do this, how do we do we a regime change, how do we transition power, do the chinese have to come in and just mixthe nuclear capabilities, where do we go from here . Because we are in a stalemate. No, north korea is not going to voluntarily give it up but i think china has the capacity to step in as the big brother and say, you know, youve been horsing around, you put the whole family at a bad spot, we are not going to tolerate it anymore. Ive said for several months, i think the best solution is to sit down with the chinese, consult with the russians and say, look, china, you have north korea, i know this sounds pretty radical but annex north korea. We are not not afraid of nuclear strike. Youve got Nuclear Weapons, take the regime, get rid of this guy, bring stability and as bad as it may sound to some people, a heck a lot better than what they have currently. Rather than saying, no, we are not going to make any movement, they are saying,let take a look at. This hes making it clear. We will not continue in trade agreement that is hurt the american worker, that hurt the American Economy and bravo, its about time that america exerted leadership and thats what we are seeing in asia this week. They are in committee this week and next week trying to markup the bill, the wall street journal has called 45. 6 rate a stealth tax rate, why is it so hard for the republicans to cut taxes . Because they cant get out of the stupid role. I think on halloween they all dressed up as casper the friendly ghost. Maria i guess so. Afraid basically of their own shadow. I dont understand this, maria, you made the point earlier that when you have people who are paying the most tax who is actually get a tax increase, thats not tax reform. Thats counterproductive to growing the economy, the republicans have done a pathetic job of messaging, they always allow themselves to get sucker punched from the democrats and you could double the taxes on the rich people and the democrats would still say the rich arent paying their fair share. Quit playing to the rhetoric of the democrats, do what in truth will stimulate the economy and let the results speak louder than the democrats can counter. Maria thats right. You know what, dagen, i will say it before, they are getting bullied by the left and the shaming calling this tax cuts for rich which is not. Dagen and its not reform either. It complicates the code. It complicates the code on the individual side incredibly and and ideologically i have a problem with living in a nation where about half of people right now pay no federal income tax. That means that nobody is pay those people are not paying a dime maria they are getting tax cutted. Dagen to fund our military and from a personal perspective is wrong and this is only going to get worse with this tax bill, you will likely have a large percentage of people who pay no federal income tax but also get money back from the federal government when they didnt pay in the first place. Maria what is the answer here, governor . The fair tax, the fair tax which is based totally on consumption. I have been saying it for years. Its the only tax that actually builds the economy based on something that is fair and authentic and we punish productivity. When you punish productivity, you get less of it and when you reward, really inattention to effort, then youre going to get more of that. Do we really want an economy that rewards not participating and punishes productivity, i dont think so. Thats not how we raise kids, thats not how we train dogs, its not how we build a great economy. Maria i recognize this stuff is really hard, we all recognize the threat that is we face now. These are new threat that is we have ever seen yet its pulling teeth getting more money for the military, right . I mean, its pulling teeth getting more money because of deficit hawks who are focused on 20 trillion in debt. I understand how difficult it is. You cant cut your way out of the debt. Thats just the reality. The only way out of the longterm situation is growth. Growing the economy and if we fall for this democratic nonsense that says that the pie cant get bigger, its already fixed and carving it up and carving it so people who dont produce get more of the pie, no, we are never going to see any benefit. We are going to have to see that 4 Economic Growth fully funds Social Security and medicare, that is what gets us out of the longterm disastrous situation. Nothing else will do it. We cant raise taxes high enough, we cant cut expenses low enough, but you can grow and thats where we ought to be focusing and unfortunately congress is so afraid that theyre going to be criticized for it. I am solidly behind the bill. I think its great for Middle America and great for every american and more importantly its a jobs bill that will put millions of jobs back to work. Maria congressman tom . , this is devastating for new york and new jersey and other states that huge net donors to the federal government, the elimination of state and local Tax Deduction would wipe out people in my district, over 250,000 people in my district use the state and local Tax Deduction, its patently unfair. Maria let me ask you this, congressman, im with you, im a new yorker, i understand that a lot of new yorkers are going to see higher taxes, you really have to look at the entirety of the plan but if youre looking at elimination of deduction, i understand what youre saying, but is this over time going to pressure your governor, your mayors into basically saying, we cant hide behind the deduction anymore. Over time will they be pressure on them to lower taxes and pull in their spending . I fought for property tax and governor and cuomo put a tax cap. Governor cuomo is work to go reduce tax in the state. The deduction has been in place for a 100 years. Patently unfair. The idea you get paid local and tax government and get taxed double time its completely unfair in new york. New yorkers dont like what the republicans are proposing in federal tax bill, they should vote democratic. Maria vote for mayor de blasio. Maria hes a taxcutter. Im all about driving taxes for every single person. I would be supportive of drop, i think its good for the economy and for america. We have to remember the primary thing we have to do here is provide real relief to the middle class, the folks that are out there working every single day, the folks that are in every state in new york and and georgia that are out there Middle America that will see great benefit from this and the other thing that we have to remember is we have got to create a tax code that allows our job creators to put americans back to work and quit transferring wealth across our shores to other nations, we can do that and we need to use that momentum to address dagen congressman, its wealth transfer, Wealth Redistribution and Income Redistribution to people who already dont pay any income taxes and the top rate for people who earn the most money is 45. 6 and its 49. 4 if you include the obamacare surcharge which ewe as republican didnt get rid of because you cant Pass Health Care reform. Dagen you are raising taxes on highincome americans, youre sitting a new baseline for democrats when they eventually take over the house, so they are only going to go up even further than that. Listen, to joint commission on tax yesterday and hearing said every american gets tax break. Maria thats not true, you know that. Thats not true. Yeah. Maria we are looking at 50 rate from 45. 6 stealth rate and the elimination of deduction, we are looking at 50 rate. Come on. Its not a tax cut for some people. Well, listen maria i get that. Look, i understand it has to be paid for. The money has to come from somewhere, lets not say that everybody gets a tax cut if its not true. I will tell you who is not getting the tax cut, the people of my district. [laughter] i will tell you who is getting a Tax Deduction, the way theyve changed the passthrough rate that everybody gets 25 rate regardless of how much money you make is unfathomable. You can make a Million Dollars, 5 million or 10 million and 20 million and you pay 25 . That doesnt make any sense to americans. Tom, that is youve got to recognize that in the Small Business goes there are safety and guardrails to separate wage income from profit. So im confident that we will have the guardrails in there to make sure that there arent abuses of that provision. Maria congressman, i know that youre worried about people getting a tax increase but if your party were in control it would be even higher taxes so i dont know that im on your team either, give me a break. All of a sudden democrats are worried about the deficit, you doubled the debt under president obama, 10 to 20 trillion and now youre complaining about high tax rates. Well, its pretty interestingly you bring that up because the Republican Party has been talking about deficits for so long, a trillion and a half dollars which makes no sense whatsoever. So we have a lot of unfair things in this tax reform proposal. A lot of them dont have crucial elections, especially not federal elections. They are not necessarily being targeted. The same poll with respect to the tax argument that they largely uninformed the debate going on. As the debate heats up as we will be successful in passing tax reform and the agenda people voted for moves forward, they will move back. While you see this later version is within the margin of error in some of the key counties and as the accomplishments continue to tick upward comment key tax relief measures passed and they see the agenda moving forward they will fall back in line. I dont feel too concerned by that.
