Big show this morning, joining the conversation fox business dagen mcdowell, moodies capital chief economist john and the brewer ceo, former investment banker and nfl player jack brewer. Dagen good morning. Maria we keep falling the bouncing ball with china story, yesterday when i spoke with wilbur ross played down november 17th when the president will meet with xi jinping to sign the documents and paper it up as they say. Dagen maybe better to set expectations low and theres only one president of the United States. Maria absolutely. Showing progress and hopefully close the deal as soon as possible, i think the market anticipates an end to this particular matter and thats a positive. Maria markets are positive feeling a sense that maybe theres something on the table but markets are fractionally moving. Chinas vice foreign minister and President Trump weighed in on negotiations and talked a bit about potential deal watch. We have a summit in chile or wherever that may be, able to sign a completed document actually things in phase 2 are easier than phase 1. Of course, commerce secretary wilbur ross telling me that the talks in beijing are important and they were earlier in the day but that that november date is really not as important as what gets done. Would like to make a deal but from our point of view has to be the right deal and doesnt have to be in november, its more critical that it be a proper deal than exactly when it occurs. Maria you wouldnt mine doing a signing. We do sign, thats the important element, thats what the president is embedded to. Maria all bigticket items that so far china has been elicit on. Its good to see that they are taking a step back and evaluate and making sure the deal is done right, i love the fact that President Trump is promoting that the deal is done because it takes, you know, for once you can take the pressure off conversations and impeachment and you dont hear anybody on the democratic side talking about china and not voting on anything in congress so it really is good for the country to rally around the president as we negotiate this deal. Maria theyre not talking about anything, exactly, usmca falling by the wayside, it was supposed to be done by the canadian yesterday, Justin Trudeau won, we will talk about that dagen chad has details on the usmca talks slowing down but theyve essentially theres backsliding according to chad reporting with the usmca, lawmakers eyeing the potential vote next month or in december but many issues remain unresolved, one source told chad that takes took a step back last year and they think the deal would be locked in place after 2week congressional recess, thats far from that, the services for the late congressman elijah cummings, expect meeting wednesday between professional negotiators and Robert Lighthizer trade negotiator, that could be big stumbling block for the markets, stocks, bond, oil maria buy everything. Dagen 95, perfection maria what about that . Equities are higher because Interest Rates fell, that was very important. We had the credit market and Federal Reserve get carried away with higher Interest Rates, 10year treasury yields about 3 , home sales sank and thank goodness they came to their senses, by doing so, reinvigorating sensitive spending, we will get a report today existing home sales, maybe down for the month, but the Third Quarter will be the First Quarter since 2018 where we will have a year to year increase by existing home sales, by the way phl indexes, 45 year to date. Wheres the recession . Largely because of Mortgage Rates . That would be it and solid labor market, the lowest Unemployment Rate 3. 5 since the late 1960s. Meanwhile in the middle of earning season, big day today, four dow components coming out before the opening bell actually, the technologies prctor gamble. We are looking at pretty solid season so far, right . You know, what we are seeing is better than expected news on corporate earnings. Exactly. Thats important and we shouldnt lose sight of the fact, analysts are still looking for 4 and a half percent year to year drop on earnings per share, however, the same consensus is convinced that we are going to seek quite a recovery by corporate earnings in 2020. They have earnings growing by nearly 11 annually, believe me, if thats true number 1, again, no recession and, of course, such a gain by equity market would be positive. Maria especially estimates are looking up for 2020 so we will see what happens. Before we get to wework, we have to talk about the bailout, the nba situation really interesting to see china trying to bully the nba, they wanted the general manager of the rockets fired. Ive been disgusted as an american to watch and a sport that so many people watch and particularly kids, the nba has population of the youth that watch it, whenever you put politics and sports, its always good when its convenient for you, convenient social justice that you see the nba to get around, they will talk about a topic that doesnt affect their wallet but the second that something comes in and china stands up against the human rights of all the people, over a million muslims that theyre treating like this, putting in concentration camps, i mean, what person in america wouldnt stand up against that and i think its embarrassing, you know, you really get to see what people are made about when you see lebron james and some of the other folks, remember, flab is different than a lot of leagues, lebron james makes decisions for the nba, this is not like the nfl, in the nfl that doesnt happen, hes speaking loud and clear. Dagen a tire fire that every time it looks like somebody is dying down, somebody is chucking a few white walls on the fire, it keeps blazing and just shows that again looks like the nba and adam silver got very much overconfident in the messaging, it was kumbaya, Everybody Loves the nba, you cant do any wrong, we are social justice warriors all, and they got on the wrong side of what is freedom and american values. At what point do you come out and say, hey, we were wrong, lets stand against it or do you just continue to try to push this narrative, thats what im confused about. Maria push it under the rug. Dagen all they had to do come out and say we people that are our fans and love for basketball, they didnt message ahead of time. A few hundred people at the nets preseason game that were wearing like prohong kong tshirts. Maria yeah. Youre right. Lets talk wework for a second, bailout now, the companys board reported to speak later today which cuts valuation, big comedown, wework is postponing lay offs because it does not have enough cash to pay for severance packages, we talk about valuations coming down to earth. Dagen they are throwing money at businesses and dont know whats going on, i mentioned uber in the past where it took a lawsuit by one remember, lawsuit by one of the vcs to essentially change what was going on at uber when it was before it went public, before they came as ceo, but then this is an instance of where softbank just threw money at the company and had no concept of even the Corporate Governance that was set up or what the ceo was up to, quite frankly, weve talked about this, this is a Business Model that more than 60 years old and the it never, to me it never made much sense. You know, this isnt the only cashburning entity out there so we better be prepared for more developments such as what we see going on with wework. Yeah, and they were talking about not enough money more severance packages, this this ie silliest thing ive ever heard. This was a source of jobs growth for some people and this could be gone. Maria for some reason everybody thought that wework is different and unique, or it wasnt. When we we will take a short break, we are are just getting started. Talking football and the new levis stadium and Philip Morrison, andre on the vaping concerns and how hes disrupting his own company, wait till you hear this one. Former speaker of the house, trump versus china, Newt Gringrich is here talking china trade, member of the House OversightCommittee Mark green talked the impeachment inquiry, plus exclusive interview with texas senator Senate Judicial committee ted cruz, we will find out what it was like on the ground with ted cruz. Maria welcome back, canadian Prime MinisterJustin Trudeau winning. It was close. Cheryl canadian Prime Minister has been elected to a second term but he overcame a series of black and brown face scandals that raised questions about his judgment, now he defeated conservative leader andrew sheer but it was a close race and liberal party will lead now a minority government and thats going to force trudeau to seek support from Opposition Party if he wants to get any legislation passed. President trump did congratulate trudeau, congratulations, canada is well served. Today we will find out if british Prime MinisterBoris Johnson has won over lawmakers for brexit plan to succeed, straight yes or no vote on the deal, a win from johnson would give significant momentum to brexit bargaining last week with eu. Nailbiting continues across the pond. Maria cameras, privacy breaches. In texas theyll be getting shoutout of the air. [laughter] dagen really quickly, it was ubers exceo that got sued, i dont think it was the Actual Company so i wanted to correct that. Maria we will take a break, unrest in the middle east continues, limited u. S. Troops staying in syria to protect the oil fields, that from President Trump, turkey cease fire in syria expires today, we will take a look at what is next, four dow components will report today, check impacting markets, stay with us, will be back in a minute dramatic orchestra performance comes in lots of flavors. Maria welcome back, earnings if focus, markets flat right now, four dow components reporting this good morning, mcdonalds, Proctor Gamble and united technologies. S p is down 1 point, the nasdaq is up about 2 points, joining us right now is optimal capital director of strategy and market analyst francis stacy, francis, thanks for being here. Thank you for having me. Maria how would you characterize the earning season so far . I was terrified that Global Growth was going to be a little bit more contagious around earnings, we peaked in earning cycle, i can see deceleration but i thought it would be much worse, whats the good news is that the markets have been hinging on the fed and china trade deal and when those things get sort of passed and we get partial deal or fed doveish, we get to earnings, this is good news. Yeah, its decent. Im surprised that Global Growth has not pulled our u. S. Economy a little bit more and i think the reason is that we have positive yield, so coming from all over the world and flooding into the states because there you go. Maria best game in town. Dagen so there was a 90 probability as friday that the fed will cut rates at the next meeting but theres a growing possibility and you see the 10year yield, the 10year yield is finally above the fed fund rate should be 1 and 3 quarters percent assuming the fed can manage it and keep it in line, but theres a growing expectation that the fed could signal a pause after this rate cut, so a baked in rate cut at the meeting but thats a real danger going into the meeting and im not sure its reflected in the stock and bond markets. I think that that sorry, ladies, i think that has not been priced in yet, we are expecting rate cuts, i think when the fed stops saying midcycle adjustments and we will keep everything going okay, we are making doveish turn and uptick in the market, thats ultimately not good news, if we cut too aggressively we start chasing the yields around the world, negative yields, the only reason you would have a negative yield because its preferable to default that would be bad news. Also when the fed had their repo emergency, you have to see if thats a blip or cracks in the foundation. I think dagen is right, theres a good chance that will be the last for the time being, if the market tells the fed to cut rates again if breaks under 1. 6 , the fed will resume rate cuts and the fed is keeping a close eye on bond market and whats going on equities and either market, both markets are telling fed to cut again, it will do so pronto. Maria youre not expecting a cut in december . Not at this point in time, im glad i was not expecting in december. Yeah. Dagen article again nick said the wall street journal is the guy, the reporter on the Federal Reserve and it was in the sates paper which i maria youre a geek. [laughter] dagen it says in there if officials conclude they should signal a possible time out for rate cuts, jay powell could disappoint investors who come to expect Additional Bank support, even a balance message that even avoids a clear we are done could still result in a selloff, that was from i tell you the good news, though, the good news is that they started adding money back on the Balance Sheet. I think they were too aggressive when they started taking money off the Balance Sheet. Thats what happened in the repo market. Theyre not calling it quantitative easing but theyre adding money to the Balance Sheet without reducing rates, that is good news because we do have this positive yield in the u. S. , it looks healthier. And the positive yield in the u. S. Compared to the negative yields of other advanced economies should limit the upside for treasury bond yields even if the fed has a monetary policy, the fed decides signal that maybe theyre finished for cutting rates for now. Jon if jay powell will necessarily go that far if the risks imposes to the financial market, treasury bond market and equity market. Why take the risk. So the Balance Sheet slight expansion shouldnt result in actual stimulus according to jay powell and could it help the dollar and that ultimate would help, at least ease some of the strength of the dollar and would that help earnings. Are r what you want to go ahead is further strengthen the u. S. Dollar, thats been problem with corporate earnings as you know of late, i think the fed be careful in a statement that companies that end of october rate cut, dont id kate to indicate to people that rate cuts are necessarily done before the time being, we have to Pay Attention to what the economy is doing, Business Activity and what the Financial Markets are telling us, inflation is low, why not listen to the market. Dow doubled itself almost in 2007, s p almost doubled itself and the nasdaq is up 3x, we have to watch 2. 0 and we have to watch the economic numbers going forward. The other big risk is that everything in the United States sup, we have the bond market up, the stock market up, the dollar is up, gold is up, right, so that tells me that assets have come in from the rest of the world, so we have to watch emerging markets in china because they could easily leave and go into cheaper things if they see any kind of recovery globally. Maria the two date that is weve got on the calendar, october 29th and 30th is fed meeting, francis, good to see you. Thanks, guys. Maria quick break and middle east conflict, iraqi leaders telling u. S. Troops they cannot stay there after leaving syria, general jack keane weighing in on that this morning, football in focus, the patriots crush the jets during monday night game last night, the 49ers present all guido on undefeated season, back in a minute. Ive always been fascinated by whats next. And still going for my best, even though i live with a higher risk of stroke due to afib not caused by a heart valve problem. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. Maria welcome back, good tuesday morning, thank you so much for joining us, good morning to you, im Maria Bartiromo, it is tuesday october 27th, top stories right now 6 32 a. M. On the east coast, earning season strong, four dow components reporting the before the opening bell this morning, united technologies, Proctor Gamble, mcdonalds. Ahead of earnings, futures are searching for direction, take a look, flat morning, dow industrials down 7 points, s p down 1 point but the nasdaq is up 2 points, this on top of a broad rally yesterday which is boosted by some renewed u. S. China trade hopes, dow industrials were up 57 points, quarter of a percent, s p was up 20 and the nasdaq was up 73 points at the close, almost 1 . The s p is now just about 22 points away from its alltime record close hitting a new alltime high, Global Markets this morning look like this, european indices are mixed, ftse up 26 points, cac quarante down 2 points dax index in germany is up 28, british Prime MinisterBoris Johnson pushing to get deal to exit the European Union parliament, vote expected later today, the clock is ticking, 9 days away from the scheduled departure october 31. In asia markets rallied on the u. S. China trade story, the hang seng was up quarter a percent, shanghai composite up half percent. Japan is closed today for a holiday. Winning streak, the patriots remain undefeated after running over the jets last night, the 49ers also have not suffered a lose this season. The teams president is here on the big business of football and the teams latest offerings for loyal fans, plus the nba ready to tip off new season without one of its biggest stars tonight, we will tell you all about it. First top story this half an hour, tensions in syria, turkey 5day cease fire expires today as President Trump plans to keep a limited number of u. S. Troops in syria to protect the oil field, the president weighed in during Cabinet Meeting watch. Keep the oil, same thing here, keep the oil, we want to keep the oil and we will work something out of the kurds so they have some money, cash flow, maybe one of the Big Oil Companies to go in and do it properly. Maria turkish president to drive Kurdish Force asway from turkeys border, joining me right now general jack keane, general, always a pleasure to see you, thank you so much for joining me. Good to see you, maria. Maria its interesting the president keeping troops to protecting the oil, thats exactly what we are talking about, you had iran on its heels, revenue to iran to get back in business with isis, whats your take on the president s most recent commentary about the oil fields in syria and keeping troops there . Well, i think thats absolutely critical, we cannot let those oil fields fall into iranian hands and we will not change what we have been doing, the United States was never using its troops to defend the oil fields, the 60,000 plus Syrian Democratic forces that consist of syrian kurds and forgotten in the last couple of weeks because of the controversy over walking away from the kurds are arab forces by the tens of thousands as part of Syrian Democratic forces. They do two things in the area, one is contain isis and make sure the iranians do not seize the oil fields and i think that mission will largely continue now assisted by a limited number of u. S. Ground troops but the thing that guaranties that protection is that the United States controls the air space, our air power actually is decisive in showing that the iranian proxies do not come across the river and seize those oil fields. Maria and you think that the u. S. Will control the air space, then . Oh, yeah, absolutely, the telling sign for giving up the air space would be to take out all of u. S. Ground forces that are assisting. A limited number of forces there to be sure. Maria yeah, well, i mean, so are you feeling differently now about the president s plan then because initially when the president first said he was going pull out of the troops people like yourself and Lindsey Graham and others were saying this is a base mig take and sunday, Lindsey Graham joined me at sunday morning futures and had complete reversal, so long as we protect the oil fields and leave a limited number of troops, i think this can actually lead to winning in this strategy, do you agree or are you still concerned about the president s pullout . Well, i agree we are moving in much better direction now than where we were. A couple of things are point of view toll here, the meeting with erdogan and putin as you suggested in the introduction, thats crucial, putin has a huge agenda here, hes got a foothold in the middle east, he wants to gain more influence in the middle east than the United States has had since the end of world war ii and hes achieving some of that and clearly what he will work out here will be his interest in syria, so that meaning and the results of it is something that we have to Pay Attention to, we still have to Pay Attention to are we going to move into a permanent cease fire, because today is the end of the temporary cease fire, erdogan has been advertising that i want all the syrian kurds moved immediately in 5 days to the safe zone, 30 miles away from the border, well, thats hundreds of thousands of people that would be a humanitarian crisis if we moved all those people wholesale like that in 5 days, no place for them to go, no shelters, no facilities, et cetera, thats not happening. So hopefully we continue to negotiate, negotiate the establishment of the safe zone, maria, as opposed to going back to military force, possibly what erdogan will do, number 1, he should agree to a perm permanent and today would be pivotal day, one the russia meeting and 2, where erdogan comes out as a result of that on what to do with safe done. Maria whats your stance on what Internal Revenue weak is saying, any troops leaving syria are not allowed in iraq, this statement contradicting mark esper that they will continue to iraq, more than 700 troops being pulled from syria, are they going to iraq and iraq says they cant come there or are they going to saudi arabia or are they coming home . Well, i think sounds to me like thats a negotiation in progress how long they stay in iraq. Those troops that we are talking about are largely the ones that are very northern part of syria that pulled over to iraq and the Iraqi Government im sure had agreeed to that movement or we wouldnt have taken without they are permission. They may have internal political pushback against that and thats reflected in those comments. I think we will negotiate that through, some of the troops will be involved in syria in some way, some of them may move out and move closer to syriairaq border and likely a little bit more in syria than in iraq so that they can respond to what has taken place in eastern syria, so i think thats a working progress, maria. Maria all right, i wondered why iraq would say that, why is iraq saying dont come here. I think thats the reason. We can only speculate. Im confident we got permission to move our troops in there, how long they were going to stay may have been something we were negotiating. Maria meanwhile we are reducing troops in afghanistan, the top american commander there says that the number has dropped by 2,000 over the last year. President trump defended that decision to withdraw troops from both syria and afghanistan. I want to bring the soldiers back home, they were supposed to be there for 30 days, they are there for 10 years. We are in afghanistan for 20 years, reducing the numbers substantially in afghanistan, but they are supposed to be in syria for 30 days. Maria that was the president talking with sean hannity last night at the white house, you know, you to believe that the average person out there is pleased with these moves. I know from a generals perspective and youre looking at some of the issues in terms of the world and the impact of isis perhaps coming back, but when you look at 2020, i think this decision is actually going to help the president in terms of reelection because most people dont want their american troops everywhere in the middle east. We dont educate the American People as to why they are there, why theres a risk people understood the risk was to america, they would i think be willing to leaving a modest amount of troops in afghanistan which now i mean, in syria which is now less than a thousand and certainly in afghanistan which general Scotty Miller has reduced forces on his own initiative with obviously with the defense approval and white house approval, 2,000 from 14,000 to and fully admit that he could reduce a little bit more because the Mission Requirement that is he has has been reduced but still a threat there of alqaeda and isis and i think its reasonable to maintain some troops there to ensure the American People. Cheryl tough for jets fans, maria, quarterback committed 5 of the 6 team turnovers, lost fumble patriots crushed the jet 330, undefeated pats 70 for the third time in franchise history, first since 2015 by the way. All right, the nba season tipping off tonight, number one draft pick is not going to actually be on the court, rooky going to be out for 8 weeks after major knee surgery, pelicans face defending champions raptors, la clippers face the la lakers, now to baseball, not to be outdone, game one of world series is tonight, Washington Nationals trying to win first ever world series, Houston Astros looking to win their second title in past 3 years, fist pitch from Houston Texas 8 08 eastern time and that will be on fox, you can watch it there, back to you. Maria thank you so much, cheryl, patriots are not alone in undefeated column, San Francisco 49ers winning every game to far this season, they had a rough and tumble game this sunday, beating redskins 90, joining us right now president al guido, great to have you. You look like you must be fixing up. Feels really good. [laughter] we left a rainy washington, d. C. Maria terrific, how do you keep this going . Our defense has been championship power, last year losing our quarterback in week 3, we kept him healthy, big home game against christian and caroline panthers sunday, 6 home games left to finish out the year, hopefully we can keep it rolling. Maria even jack brewer is impressed. To see the defense playing the way that they are, its rare to see a team with so much character so early like you mentioned before, so many low games in the season, so just says a lot about your character, what role has Richard Sherman played in leadership in the locker room . Im glad that you brought that up, last year going through a tough time on the field, having quality veteran leadership to go through that i think we gained a lot and now we have 5 first round picks on defensive line, getting from kansas city. Guys who can throw the ball and guy who is can knock those guys down and front line on defensive line has dominated games which has helped Richard Sherman, all the on the back end, we have to keep that going. Now, you i have to ask you these questions, youre in San Francisco and, youre team has not been the most favorite for a lot of patriots in the country, following the colin kaepernick, seems like you have made change, front office, give the team a new look and new feel, how has that been and felt that . I tell you what, we couldnt do it without leadership, theyve been on the front lines and given back to the community, this is our sixth year since we opened levi stadium, we call our fans the faithful, if they can see them show up and put 40,000 fans in the building, we are proud of strong support, highest renewal rates in the nfl, 97 or 98 to have fans renew every year, so its good to see them getting some wins on the field, feeling good about the environment and building and i think we will keep that going, we had a Good Initiative yesterday, we announced unlimited food and beverage, cutting edge in the sports industry. All 70,000 fans, its really frictionless, no longer taking out your wallet to pay for anything, people have done it through Premium Experience and in the nba. With Richard Sherman being a stanford grad, did that help in terms of it brings that young fan base into the stadium for sure. Big time, we have a number of stanford grads on our team, thomas who was a stanford grad, general manager soon to be hopefully nfl hall of famer is stanford grad. Our former coach bill wallace is a stanford guy, a lot between Stanford University and the San Francisco 49ers. Keeping it up north. Thats right. Largest team in the nfl, really powered by our friend bill. Maria he has. Even though we have been sort bad on the field to a to injuries, we have been top 5 due to Customer Experience and we couldnt do it without sport of our fans. Maria i agree with you. How things changed for nfl, i feel like within the last year the perception has changed, you had the kneeling controversy, a lot of people were talking it, focused on concussions and negative sides of the game and recently over the last year things have improved in that regard, have they not . I think they have, you have to keep focus on the hero feature, on the field, thats what everybody shows up for, our game continues to get better, health and safety has gotten better, 24 to 25 shows are football. Maria highest paid for top premium intellectual property of all, live football. Thats exactly right now, cable news and live sports are really whats trending up, we are looking forward to our next collective bargaining agreement, next rights negotiations as we look at local market its really about the evolution of our stadium, 6 years into a brandnew building, what does the next ten years look like for the nfl . Maria what are you expecting in terms of social Media Companies that want to get in and they want to have like amazon, they will be a bidder, right . Sure. Maria whats the expectation, if you look at market cap of those companies compared to traditional linear partners are today, certainly most of our fans still watch on linear broadcast television and we have done something with amazon, i think all of the other partners will come to the table as we get ready for next negotiations . Which team is biggest road block as far as getting to the super bowl . Probably too early to say that lets win the decision, lets beat the la rams, arizona cardinals. Maria youre winning, winning. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. I get it all the time. Have you lost weight . Of course i have ever since i started renting from national. Because national lets me lose the wait at the counter. And choose any car in the aisle. And i dont wait when i return, thanks to drop go. At national, i can lose the wait. And keep it off. Looking good, patrick. I know. vo go national. Go like a pro. So. How are you feeling . On a scale of one to five . One to five . Its more like five million. Theres everything from happy to extremely happy. Theres also angry. Im really angry clive actually, really angry. Thank you. But what if your business could understand what your customers are feeling. And then do something about it. Turn problems into opportunities. Thanks drone. Customers into fanatics change the whole experience. Alright who wants to go again . I do i do i have a really good feeling about this. Maria welcome back. We we have breaking news. We just got results from proctor and gam l bell anprocter gambld technologies. Deirdre bolton looking at those numbers. Very optimistic as far as the futures go. If you look at the two dow member stocks, both actually beating on the top and bottom line and both more importantly raising their earnings for the fiscal year. Let me take you through the numbers. United technologies the estimate was for earnings of 2. 03 a share. United technologies posting 2. 21. So thats about a 7 increase, year on year. And if you look at revenue, the company was expected to post a 19. 3 billion in sales, the company posting 19. 5 billion and that is an increase of about 17 if you compare this quarter to this quarter last year. And as i mentioned as well, outlook is fantastic, raising earnings expectations for this fiscal year. If you look at Procter Gamble, also a dow member, exceeding wall streets expectations, most analysts looking for 1. 24, Procter Gamble posting 1. 37. Thats an increase of about, well, close to 15 , between 13 and 15 . If you look at revenue, you have sales coming in at 17. 8 billion. And the estimates were for 17. 42 billion. That is an increase of about 5 . So maria, we have been talking about this earnings season with a lot of scepticism but we have to say so far, so good, from the financials last week with the exception of goldman perhaps to these two dow members this morning, green on the screen, we should see a little bit later. Back to you. Maria being called better than feared on wall street this morning. Deirdre, thank you. We want to turn to the push for impeachment, House Democrats blocking the vote to sensor congressman adam schiff over the handling of the impeachment inquiry. All 218 House Democrats voted to table the resolution with all 185 republicans voting against tabling the resolution. The next key witness in the inquiry, William Taylor testifies t today. President trump defending his phone call with the ukrainian president yesterday. I think they want to impeach me because its the only way theyre going to win. Theyve got nothing. All they have is a phone call that was per expect. Be expect. Perfect. All they have is a whistleblower who disaspired. Where is he . Hes gone. Then they have the second whistleblower. The second whistleblower, hes got where is he . He disappeared. Oh, they have an informant a. Where is he . Maria joining us root now is member of the House Oversight reform and a Homeland Security committees, mark green. Thank you for joining us. What about all those questions . For a little while there we were hearing from adam schiff that the whistleblower was going to come and testify and that the whistleblower had secondhand knowledge but they had another whistleblower with firsthand knowledge, where does all that stand . Its crazy, maria, that this kind of stuff is going on. I mean, what would we expect from adam schiff. This is the guy who lied multiple times. We dont know whats going on because im on oversight. They wont even let me in, they wont let me read the v vo volcr testimony. Maria devin nunes was questioning people like ambassador volcker and ambassador sondland. It sounds like from the leaks or whatever we can find that are coming out of these testimonies the that these testimonies are just knocking down the whole idea of any quid pro quo. Theyre exonerating the president , 100 . You look at sondland, and the questions from taylor and all of those texts that were supposedly transmitted, its almost as if taylor is leading the witness, sotospeak of. And then sondland comes back and said no, there absolutely was no quit pro quo. The president insisted there not be. I heard ron johnson, senator ron johnson say the other day he had a conversation in may with the president where the president specifically said no, absolutely no quid pro quo on this. Thats in may before the conversation absolutely even happened. So this is crazy. This is a manufactured crisis. Even al green, congressman al green said if we dont impeach this guy, theres no way we can win. I think it was the Washington Post actually said on Inauguration Day the calendar to impeach President Trump has begun. I mean, this has been a game for them from the very beginning and thats all this is. The tragedy is, i mean, the real tragedy is the house of representatives cant do anything we cant make a bill. One person cant make a law, a bill a law in the United States. Yet one person has compelled this impeachment process and my people, the people of tennessee dont have a say in it because i dont get to vote. Its insane. Maria a lot of people feel that, look, theyve got to do something because they hate him so much but they cant compete on actual policies because the policies are working. Jack brewer, you wrote a piece on foxbusiness. Com, talking about trumps policies are secretly loved by liberals. Yeah, they clearly are. And congressman green can probably attest to this. Democrats will go against everything they believe in, just to go against President Trump. And its pretty ridiculous. As a normal citizen sitting here, a taxpayer, my question is, what was the president supposed to do when he knew that there was so much corruption going on and they asked about, hey, its unsubstantiated, well, it doesnt need to be substantiated when youre the Vice President and a your son is getting paid all this money. At what point do we stop the pay to play . Democrats seem to sit back and as they investigate, no one is asking the question, what should the president have done . Maria theres even more than that. Why shouldnt the president be able to try to get to the bottom of what happened in the origins of the russia probe. Of course. Maria lets not forget this dossier that had everybody in hysterics for two years and that was basically the idea that the president colluded with russia, all of the dossier information started in ukraine. Why shouldnt he get to the bottom of it . If he didnt have his personal lawyer going there stirring up the pot, he had to send them there you because otherwise the democrats wouldnt allow him to investigate anything. Absolutely, maria. The president has a responsibility to the American People to get to the bottom of this. Everywhere joe biden went, his son followed and got millions of dollars. In the case of ukraine, they routed it through two different countries. If youre routing money through cypress and latvia, you did something wrong or youre trying to evade taxes. This needs to be thoroughly investigated and the president should initiate this. These kinds of investigations will impact the Foreign Policy of the United States. Hes the president. He should have some say in directing this. Maria im proud to say, i called this from the beginning. The president wants the answers and frankly so do our viewers. I want to know why somebody in such a leadership position of the fbi and cia could come up with a narrative that the president colluded with russia just insert him into a story that russia was meddling in the u. S. I want accountability. I really do. Dagen youve got john durham on it and quite frankly the Justice Department was upset at that slipup by Mick Mulvaney last week when he even brought up the issue of the durham investigation in that kind of hell Fire Press Conference that he gave. Maria we know that attorney general william barr is expanding the scope of the investigation. Theyre actually talking about john brennan because we know that a when you look at all of these international diplomats, people like Alexander Downer and stefan helper, all of these people who could only have been brought in from the cia, thats what attorney general william barr is looking at right now. The president is asking him to investigate Hillary Clinton and her ties to ukraine. Listen to this. And then you hear about ukraine and a youve been hearing about it. I heard clintons was involved. I heard they got somebody who wrote the fake dossier, was it out of ukraine . All of the things that happened and i assume that the attorney general i would like the attorney general to find out whats going on. Because you know what . Were investigating corruption. Maria dagen, i imagine right now john brennan is lawyering up. Dagen you would think so. I wanted to turn this on is head to the congressman. The republicanses have it good because you have democrats proceeding with impeachment without a full vote and doing it in secret. That does not resonate with the American People. You have a Mueller Investigation and a russian collusion narrative that never came to fruition. You have a white house that cooperated with the Mueller Investigation, what, 500 seizure warrants, mueller to talk to virtually anybody in the white house. The republicans have it good. You have democrats that are likely going to push this impeachment inquiry into an election year. What does that look like for the democrats and the eventual nominee . I think it actually hurts them. But its their only chance. Thats really why theyre grasping at all of this because had they have no chance to defeat a president who created an economy thats one of the best in the history of america. All the unemployment, i mean, you guys report on this stuff all the time. You know the statistics. Theres no way they beat him unless they go down this path. So they dont care about an agenda. They dont care about usmca is ready to go and we cant get a vote on that. Ive got a bill that would help rural hospitals in america with a democrat cosponsor and we cant get it heard in committee because all the committees are investigating the president. This is their only hope. This is it. This is their best shot. Dagen by the way, to correct you, there was an article in vanity fair on the website, it was a matter of days after the election in 2016 about impeachment. They were going to the idea was they were going to impeach President Trump for trump university, if they could pin anything on him for that. Im not joking. I read the article. Maria again, they have their guy. Theyve got their guy. Now they just have to find a crime. Thats how theyre going to do it. Yeah, thats right. Its an insult to the founding principles of this country. Maria exactly right. Anybody on both sides of the aisle should be upset by that, that theyve got their guy already, now theyre fishing for a crime. I mentioned earlier that u. S. Attorney william barr is significantly expanding the he review into the origins of the russia collusion hoax investigation and that is what nbc is even reporting this morning, nbc news is reporting that. So there you go. A shocker, right . You know what they say. Democracy dies in darkness and thats why we need transparency. Dagen we should point out, Katherine Herridge reported this, the probe by durham was expanding and they asked for additional resources, including a timeframe that runs into the spring of 2017, i think. Maria after the inauguration. Dagen fox news was ahead on that a while ago. Maria we know that it even started theyre looking at before the fbi said that it started which was july 16. We know it started way earlier than that. Congressman, its good to see you. Well be following this. We will see you soon, sir. Fox business aalert, under armors ceo kevin plank stepping down next year. He will stay at the company he founded as executive chairman. He will be preceded by proceeded by patrick fritz. Also breaking news on results in the Third Quarter, ups and jetblue reported while we were speaking with mark green. Lets get to deirdre with the details. Starting with ups, a slight miss on revenue but im really being picky here because the estimate was for 18. 35 billion. And jetblue or rather, ups, posting a slight mix at 18. 32 billion, so a fine line but well call it a miss. If you look at the earnings, though, you do have upside there, 2. 06 a share icalled forr ups. The company posting 2. 07 per share. That is about 13 . Looking at jetblue, you actually have jetblue exceeding earnings expectations, 59th pecents per 5cent 9cents per share, an increase of 21 . If you look at revenue, a slight bump. 2. 09 billion is what the company posted. And that is versus estimates for 2. 08 billion and that is an increase if you look at this quarter versus this quarter last year, better than 3 . I want to highlight another dow member for you, maria as well, travelers which is a very mixed picture. They had a huge earnings miss, if you just look at the numbers in the sense that they had an asbestos charge that they had to write down. The company posting 1. 43, estimates were calling for 2. 35. Highlighting that there. But if you look at revenue, about 5 stronger posting 8. 01 billion versus the estimate for 7. 37 billion. Again, 5 up this quarter versus this time last year. The board of the company set to meet today to weigh Financing Options from softbank and jp morgan. Wework is holding off on layoffs because it says it cannot afford severance packages. This has been a story that has just worsened and worsened, jack, in terms of wework and the impact that its had on the funders, like a jp morgan. Yeah. We talked about it earlier. Just to see something thats so overvalued, its disappointing especially to folks who were early stage investors in this company. If you look at the overall Real Estate Market in general in the u. S. , a lot of positive things happening. I know in florida people are moving down and moving around. A company like wework, they dont own any real estate. What is the asset. Maria what was so special about wework that garnered a 40 billion valuation at its peak . To be cut down to billion , thats a big deal. I think its telling and hopefully we dont have too many stories that end up coming up around our markets, just in general. Because its really disappointing. Maria this is one thing that people did see coming in terms of the valuations in the private market, isnt that right . Dagen except softbank. So it owned already had a onethird stake. I want to point this out. Wework, it has enough money to last only a you fe few more weed not many investors lined up besides softbank. They were opening up all these wework space, meanwhile, wherever you go, these different neighborhoods theres a wework sign in front of the building. Those landlords may be facing a headache in the not too taken future. Ipos, have you to be careful. Let somebody else go into the ipo first, buy it, and then see what happens. Maria softbank has been smart about investing but this one was a real black eye. Uber too, uber was way overvalued. Dagen this goes to how did the investor not step yo up and raia red flag about the crazy dealings of the then ceo and the founder, adam newman. Of corks h course, he resigned l weeks ago as the chief executive. Again, it was poor Corporate Governance, partying, devil may care attitude about running a business which had high cost and rising losses. This was a disaster waiting to happen. And again, the door is opened and when the public got a look at what was going on, any investor in their right mind turned their back on this company. They have no no assets. Youre running a Real Estate Company and renting out space and you dont own anything. Maria even steve schwart schw, blackstonies the larger owner of real estate in the company, he has done a lot of work on real estate valuation and he said this doesnt make sense, these valuations are out of whack with wework. He said it on this program. Dagen there are enough people who are still around who remember the gogo days of the first dotcom bubble. We learned a lot of lessons then. We didnt forget them. This harkens back to the recklessness of makes no money, wild valuation and it exploded. Simply underscores how much liquid at this is around, how much liquidity is around, how much money is available for businesses like this to exist. Once you take the money away, theyre finished. Maria earnings season is heating up. We heard positive reports from harley davidson, jetblue of. Ups. We will also hear from Lockheed Martin and mcdonalds. Procter gamble posted better than expected results and raised the guidance. Do you see a trend in this season a that seems to be better than feared. Well, you know what made my eyes open about p g is the revenue growth, 5 . It doesnt sound like much, but for basic consumer products, thats quite an achievement i would statement it tells me the consumer is continuing to spend and if the consumer spends theres relatively low risk of a recession. Maria look at ups. The revenue was a miss, down 3. 5 on ups right now and a you wonder whats going to is that ups . Ups were going to take a look at ups because this is a stock thats obviously going to be active in the china story. Its going to be active in the upcoming holiday season. So the expectations in terms of how its doing is also an economic indicator. Revenue was shy of expectations for the quarter on ups. Ups you also want to look at costs, labor costs are on the rise nationwide. That could create some problems for margins. Id like united technologies, manufacturing, a lot of exposure to manufacturing. That company did very well on the earnings side and on the revenue side again, double digit percentage growth in revenue. Youre telling me theres a manufacturing recession . I dont know. We have breaking news right now. Former president jimmy carters has been hospitalized this morning. A spokesperson for carter says he suffered a minor pelvic fracture after falling in his home. We will bring you any details we get on president carter. Coming up, we are looking at markets this morning. Futures pointing to a higher opening as you can see, earnings have been better than feared so far. Dow industrials up 22 points, s p up 2 and nasdaq up 14 points. Things have turned positive following a broad rally yesterday, boosted by commentary that the china trade deal could see some progress. Were checking in on that this morning as well. The s p was up 20 points, and it is now just about 22 points away from hitting an alltime record close. The dow industrials were up 57, and the nasdaq was up 73 points yesterday at 4 00 on wall street. Global markets look like this. Its a mixed picture in europe. Weve seen a better performance in the last 15 minutes. Prime minister Boris Johnson is pushing to get his deal to exit the European Union through parliament. A vote is expected later today and of course the clock is ticking. Were now nine days away from the scheduled departure. Fq100 is up 30 points right now. In asia overnight markets rallied on u. S. China trade hopes. The shanghai composite was up half a percent, japan is closed for a holiday overnight. Back in the us, it is earnings season for the Third Quarter. Four dow components reported earnings before the bell. It was largely a mixed picture. United technologies and Procter Gamble raised guidance. Those stocks are up. P g up 4. 5 right now. Travelers reported a 44 profit slump on higher Asbestos Claims. Mcdonalds due out in about 30 minutes, well have those numbers as soon as they hit the tape. Ups is certainly a factor this morning, it is down on a revenue miss. Also coming up, the force is still strong with the star wars franchise. The new trailer for the rise of sky walker dropped as the ticket window opens to record sales two months before it hits the big screen. All those stories coming up. The top story this half hour, taxing the wealthy. 2020 hopeful Elizabeth Warren outlining her higher Public Education plan, saying her wealth tax would pay for the 800 billion Education Funding initiative. Warren details her proposal in a blog post on medium. Still, though, she has not addressed how she plans to pay for her medicare for all plan. Joining ologist right now is the now voice ceo and former president ial candidate, herman cain. Thank you for joining us. Thank you. Maria whats your assessment of all of this . These got a medicare for all plan thats going to cost 40 trillion. Shes got this education thats going to cost 800 billion. But every time shes asked are you going to have to raise taxes on the middle class, she dodges the question. The reason she dodges the question is because theres not a logical answer. Medicare for all will bankrupt america. Thats why she dodges the question. Her education, 800 billion is a waste of money. Her biggest flaw is that she is assuming that the American People are stupid. Most of them are not stupid. Some of the people in this country are gullible. Those are the ones that shes playing to. When she talks about raising all this money and another thing. She is assuming that most people dont know about lbjs Great Society. 54 years ago, he intended to do the same thing and our schools are in worse shape today than they were 54 years ago. She is basically sellings class warfare at its highest levelses anlevelsand playing upon the gu. Traceeityof a lot of americans. You make a great point. As you look at her plan, i think 450 billion of the 800 million is going to be put towards kids in inner cities and lower income familiars liss. My question is, are the same people going to be allocating these funds that are actually running the budgets now because when you look at our education system, we rank 30th when it comes to science. I think were 25th or 26th when it comes to math. Our kids are not even on the level of nationse nations that r countries. Those are issues that we have that are deeper in our Public School system. At what point do we p open up more Charter Schools . And what point do we take on the elephant in the room and actually question whats going on with our system as it stands today . That point is now, jack. And you raise a very good point. The same people that are running our School System today without structural change are the same ones that Elizabeth Warren wants to give them more money and they are not going to do anything different and the kids arent going to do any better. When lbj launched his Great Society program, he also stated oh, weve got so much money targeted for the poorer schools in the inner city and its going to help them. It did not. Because you have, as you pointed out, the same people running the schools that were running them for decades. Nothings going to change with the school you cant throw money at the problem and think that the problem is going to go away. Thats what Elizabeth Warren is saying. Dagen it was a takeover by the federal government of College Lending and Student Loans for college that has been a large part of the problem we have with rising tuition costs and the rising cost of college. And they cant admit it. But the more that the federal government gets involved in this, and the wall street journal wrote and editorial about the Elizabeth Warren, the 800 billion in new school spending, that k12 used to be largely a state and local responsibility. But now it wont be under her plan. And the math that she does is laughable. If she thinks that her wealth taxis gointax is going to raid three quarters trillion dollars to pay for this and then universal child care, free college tuition, 640 billion in student debt getting canceled. Maria dont forget the environmental taxes. Dagen this is just the wealth tax. If she thinks rich people move, period. Rich people will move out of state. Youve seen people move out of california and these high tax blue states. Theyre going to go overseas because they dont have to stay in the u. S. And count on Social Security for their retirement. Maria they hire a ton of lawyers and accountants to figure out the tax breaks. Dagen money is mobile. If she thinks its going to raise two and three quarters of a trillion dollars, ive got a lie to sell you. Maria does she not know that . Its not going to happen. Maria does she really believe this . Maria, she knows that. But she also understands that some of the American People are gullible. They dont know the history and about this wealth tax, she also is assuming that a lot of people will not figure out that a wealtwelttax is a new tax. Fallacies in her assumption include the following. They are assuming that rich people got rich without taking risks. All rich people got rich because they took risks and the ageold principle of find a need and fill it, thats how people develop wealth. These trying to use class warfare and people who dont have a lot of money to try to have them angry at people who have acquired a lot of money because they took risks, they found the need that they filled it, or they invested the right way longterm and thats why theyre wealthy. A wealth tax is a brandnew tax and i believe that the American People are going to reject it. Dagen really quickly, its unconstitutional so lets start with that. And number two, kudos to andrew yang who called her out on this. He said europe tried it. France tried it and it didnt work. So they got rid of it. So again shes starting to get pushbacpushback from people also running from the democratic nomination and good on them. I would agree. You dont have to be rich to be hurt by a wealth tax. If a wealth tax drives down the ebbing with at this market, equity market, lets not another get there are millions of people with 401k plans thats going to fund their retirement that will be hurt by the wealth tax. The idea is nonsensical. Heres what a lot of people dont understand. Rich people create jobs. Poor people dont. Taxing people because of their success is insane. I have coined a new phrase, maria. Its called tdi. Trump derangement insanity. Theyve gone past trump derangement syndrome. They have now gone into trump derangement insanity. They arent using any of their brain in some of these ideas. Elizabeth warren is right there. Maria its absolutely insane. How about Bernie Sanders saying that no billionaires in the u. S. There should be no billionaires. So i guess we should just have all the billionaires go to china. Let the billionaires be in china. Already, china has more millionaires theyre competing with the u. S. In terms of the super rich. Theyve got 250 million rich people. I dont know if thats billionaire or millionaire. Theyve got 250 million rich people and of course weve got 350 million 300 million plus people in the u. S. So theyre competing with us pretty hard on millionaires and billionaires but Bernie Sanders says its just not right. No billionaires in the u. S. All you have to do is look at what the millionaires and the billionaires are doing in new york. Theyre leaving new york. And i could tell you Something Else that shes not telling the people. Billionaires can go to any country in the world that they want to. Thats what they can do. And they will. Its like dagen said. They will take their money and go elsewhere if you impose an unconstitutional tax called a wealth tax. Heres the only good news in this whole madness, and that is, one, she doesnt have the nomination yet. And even if she gets the nomination, shes not president yet. And she would have to be president with a democrat controlled congress, house and the senate, in order to shove this malarky down our throats. Weve got a long way to go. Im glad youre still highlighting it because some people are falling for it just like theyre falling for the false promises of socialism. She is definitely a socialist. Maria theres going to be a whole lot of tdi going on in 2020. Herman, good to see you, sir. Thank you so much. Maria a miss on revenue, also a miss on earnings, this is going to drag down the dow so let me give you the numbers expecting 22 per share in earnings mcdonalds posting 2. 11 miss on earnings you said rightly miss on revenue side as well, looking for 5. 49 billion this is a slighter miss if you want to categoryize, 5. 43 billion dollars, is what mcdonalds posted looking through samestore sales data the u. S. Was a little weak may explain some weakness in the top and bottom line, so as samestore sales in the u. S. 4. 8 growth, and looking for a growth of 5. 17 , by the way, this is the first samestore sales miss maria Something Like 8 quarters, this is a bit of a big deal for domestic Business Global actually on target at price point six mcdonalds has been experimenting like every other kind of business they have had to keep up with technology, so partnered with uber, they have partnered with door bash with grubhub we know that they purchased a company in september announced they would be purchasing this company in september. Called just makes automation one step easier when people go through drive through i am looking at that if that fixing numbers since Just Announced in september i doubt that is part of it as facilitator as menu editions behind burger king that impossible whopper ahead on meatless trend mcdonalds announced it was going to begin testing a meatless burger, partnering up with beyond meat only in a few shops in china still testing out maybe didnt ramp that up faster as fast as they could have to stay ahead so no other way to cut it here mar disappointing quarter for mcdonalds. Maria i think it is going to cut 50 points, off the Dow Jones Industrial average, this morning were looking at decline 167 points on dow that means you definitely have winners, within the industrial average mcdonalds representing 50 points on dow determined ravthank you we are speaking with ceo of Philip Morris coming up disrupting his business and senator ted cruz as well trade optimism in washington apparently is very foreign minister saying a deal likely if both sides republican one another President Trump said a deal could be signed soon commerce secretary wilbur ross told me its okay to wait. Yesterday wilbur ross joined me said yes, we are hoping this gets papered kwoelt unquote november 17 at the chile meeting, of apec nations but if not then not. Wilbur said yesterday that gets right deal intellectual property protection. Joining us right now former speaker of the house Fox News Contributor author of trump versus china facing americas greatest threat Newt Gingrich always a pleasure to see you thanks for joining us congratulations on this book. Thank you. An important topic would i say arguably this is the most important topic of our time. I think it is this topic will define whether or not our grand china speak chinese or whether or not we remain america we should not underestimate how form midble chinese are. Right now trying to become the Worlds Largest power examine economically as well as militarily. Best trump can get is 10 to 20 what we need chinese have gotten away with so much cheating over the years the to wrench them from where they have been where we want to get them i dont think you can do it in one round i think hit them, get something, come back again in two years hit them again, and recognize that this is going to be a long, difficult struggling. What i love about this story is that american businesses are finally waking up to the to competitor we are dealing with in terms of china look the way they are bullying American Companies rounding up muslims putting a million uighurs in prisons not to mention i am obsessed with quote from xi jinping, that i keep mention on this program, he said to the Prime Minister of nepal last month anybody who tries to divide china referring to hong kong protesters anybody who wants to defy china is going to find bodies crushed and their bones smashed. I think xi jinping is sometimes showing you what a dictator he really is. Wow. But the thing to remember here is that the Chinese Communist dick at a time orship that is what it is a leninest to totalitarian system their deeply committed, to replacing us, they are deeply committed to building both an economy a military much what they have done very smart we should not underestimate these people. They are very, very mart. You cant expect an American Company to stand up to china. So we need to build a countervailing system if they put in American Company we hammer 10 Chinese Companies say if you are going to Start Playing this game, we are bigger than you are you need our market more than we need yours we are prepared to protect our companies, but not blame a company which doesnt have ability to stand up to a sovereign dick at a timedorship. President trump changes the conversation on china. How do we get the message across to Middle America you know this is something that every american should be supporting President Trump and Trump Administration for but you really dont see that when you see you know nba, National Basketball association not really backing american i deals theyre standing up for dollar how can we get this to resonate stop putting our want for money over american principals that built this nation. I think that is part what have the argument is going to be about part of what i wrote trump versus china i realized that the old establishment made so much money in china, that they you know, also they are dictatorship also a long term threat but this month i got a lot of money, so the other he mayor bloomberg gave an interview said they are really not a dictatorship you have to be that is inconceivable why bloomberg would have said that they are clearly a dictatorship. In bidens case why would you think i never hold biden accountable for anything he says because i dont think he does why should we who will him more about about about about affabbout comfortable the sonar schumer has been pretty good on one topic, backing up the president. But i think even the president who is doing the right thing the right direction, doesnt realize yet how big a challenge this is going to be, whether huawei, 5g or South China Sea strategy, or it is belt and road initiative. Security issues a quote we would be incredibly uncomfortable living in a world defined by Chinese Communist party senseship sursurveilling systems pattern of jailing anyone who disagrees with government yet we opened up world trade to china we now tiebd yourselves in a long term competition with a system that is antithetical to our own dagen. Dagen i will answer jacks question American People who voted for President Trump that is why they voted for him they know what weve traded to china. For nothing. Because those jobs disappeared case of the giant essentially Corporate Tax break that was hand to do american corporations as they shipped labor overseas, our jobs disappeared throughout hinterlands, because that is how the liberals see mid of the country throughout south textile, even tobacco, furniture manufacturing name it middle class jobs you thought a safety net disappeared what did we get in a bunch of plavk cap plastic crap made in china the tradeoff now work maybe a Health Care Job caregiver maybe work at costco you get cheap made in china, that was the tradeoff people in this country watched it go for 40 years, and technology, skwufz watched this go on for 40 years china wideopen. Investors have been ceos robbed. Dagen our door was wideopen to china they have infill traitdz not only front yards backyards basements infiltrating universities our companies, and in order to get even operate you have a joint venture they turned around stole from Major Technology companies. He has given cover the president has to every company to finally say no more, we are dictating the rules now. Maria you are right they are still doing it we need an enforcement action in any detail to show chinese to make sure that when they sign on dotted line not going to next week come back steals intellectual property, there are consequences for that. China, we did a podcast recently with a professor teaches at hunter chinese, was o has disappeared i mean walking down Street Police pick you up dont tell your family dont tell your lawyer they can hold you did this to the highest paid female remove movie star in the world picked her up six months nobody knew where she was they did it in part to say to everybody if we can disappear her imagine what we can do to you i think that sense if you believe in freedom, if you want america to remain the country independent of chinese domination, then that is why i wrote trump versus china i think the most important single challenge of our lifetime. It is you are right i keep bringing up quote from xi jinping you have to understand who is on the other side of the table president of china threatening people if you get involved in any hong kong tloefrts your bones will be shattered to dust, the president of china said it, go ahead. Dagen mentioned earlier, she was talking about how going forward, we are going to find that United States, is going to increasingly employ economic type weapons, with conflicts Foreign Countries any ideas. I think trump is much help as he should be getting from National Security system is trying to find ways, that dont evolve putting young men and women at risk either being being killed permanently maimed i think a very series sg he campaigned on 2015 and 16 probing with republican orthodoxy raised a question i think very series question if you have been in the longest war in American History in you afghanistan, and after 18 years, your generals have no strategy for victory, basically saying lets do another decade of ropeadope, i think it is legitimate for president of United States to say that isnt good enough. He looks all over the world scattered small units of americans who are at risk, meanwhile, the real threats to us are china, russia, iran and north korea, and he wants to shift our National Security spending to be able to overmatch people who threaten our veexistence who he is trying to do not getting help she from very smart people many argue with him some point should say guy got elected president in part because great number of americans are sick and tired of being told the best we can do is get young men and women were killed not achieving victory. Maria long list of things democrats are completing ignoring what do you think Nancy Pelosi Adam Schiff are doing with the Coalition Details in jordan o you i mean you dont think of adam schiff as a significant serious, wise well educated deeply committed scholar . Seek to go serve america . S somewhere along last two years he kept saying ive got collusion started it caning maybe that is not the case. This is grand irony Democratic Party wrote war party. The republicans saying we want to be very strong internationally but we want to be smart tros to give largest economy on planet you can force people to do lots of things they dont want to do without sending sfloops that is the message into 2020 newt great to see you Newt Gingrich joining us there the conversation weve got ceo of finish ill Morris International in studio on the rising risks of ecigarettes see how he is completely disrupting his business, texas senator Judiciary Committee member ted cruz will join me for first tv interview since returning from hong kong. Montana judge blocking a temporary ban on sale of flagrant ecigarettes vaping shops filed a slaut saying the ban was too rooifbl the committee of Philip Morris international Andre Calantzopoulos great to have you on the program thank you for joining us what i find fascinating about you and what you have been able to do at Philip Morris you have created a new category and you are looking at the dangers of cigarettes trying to come up with a path forward going to talk about that in a moment first lets talk about what is happening in terms of these of theflavored vaping devices that are banned your reaction. Well, i think that is a lot of controversy in some misunderstanding, around this story of evaping products, manufactured from a o closest, vaping products better than cigarettes adadmitedly not through fda process that is not officially validated i would say but certainly there is Many Public Health authorities around the world that recognize better alternatives than cigarettes for people who otherwise continue to smoke, two things, first of all, there is an issue clearly, with use by teenagers of Nicotine Products especially vapor products should be concern for everyone, has to be addressed to come to this to achieve this, yes, the flavors must be regular ladies to certain degree take in consideration we have more than 35 smokers that use products, we should authorize something under fda supervision obviously,. The other side is when age limits, there is clearly to move the age limit to 21 for purchase Nicotine Products no matter when one we need education of schools we told kids dont smoke now we have to tell them dont use Nicotine Products it is not good for you we need Access Control retail obviously, commerce and we need eventual technology that matches the product with identified adult user so we cannot have fail all things have to happen, but the key thing now is to let the fda run its process, it is very thorough process, we went through this with our product it was authorized in the u. S. , the second aspect is the very unfortunate situation we have with illness and Death Associated generically with vaping, of course, fda process is going on the cdc deviations are investigations going on they link much more to people contaminate pering product or taking thc oil putting in vaping machine inhaling, lungs not made to absorb. Not made to absorb oil fat. Okay that is very important there has been contaminate pering with products, this is where the sickness comes. Because people go buy oil i guess and put it in vaping machine inhale it they should not. Let me switch gears what you are doing fascinating to me you have come up with a way to disrupt your vie and your own company with this new product called icos reached an alternative this is a device that the heat stick of tobacco but it is haetsdz up so tell me what ikos is. All alternatives to cigarettes if they have to be better than cigarettes in terms of toxicity and mored by ity must avoid nicotine is addictive wildly recognized not an issue in terms of so the common denominator of products they dont burn some use tobacco haetdz by a device, it is a system and by the fact you heating temperatures that are below 400 degrees, does not generate the amount of toxicology in signature we have 59 reduction in toxins compared to cigarette. That is, i think, very important for people to understand and the taste, and nicotine delivery slightly different but possible to signatures exists in 51 markets in the world today with almost 13 Million People switched out of cigarettes 70 plus of those use one hundred percent new product highest Conversion Rate of any. Launched in japan marble brand in russia under parliament brand in u. S. Just iqos. Under marlboro brand for consumable iqos in markets we have different brands for the consumables we call them in some for reassurance of consumers signature trade marks moving away from them that is not the important part. So i think, we have very Good Progress of this product worldwide the product was recently launched by al tree ae exparent company here atlanta best market very happy made in america, available to 35 million plus people smoking in United States they have another possibility to switch out of cigarettes, and you know it was authorized after a very thorough review i would say by fda. The fda authorized the use of iqos. For Public Health at this stage without any claim about Health Effects to smokers there is another process ongoing in fda called motfied risk tobacco product application eventually you could in a position to communicate to consumers that i dont know that is better alternative than cigarettes, of course, fda has to authorize this as well. Maria it is fascinating to see that the ceo of Philip Morris international is talking about smoke free environment that is what you are going for with heat sticks. And basically what we want to achieve is a World Without signatures, where if people either totally quit that is why we have to continue restrictive measures of signatures or having switch to alternatives. So you can go as far as saying heat sticks nonabout combustible are safer than signatures. In u. S. This has not yet been reviewed authorized by fdaa ooh so we cannot xh being this other markets have life lgs we can tell consumers a better alternative than cigarettes so a. I see growth in revenue earnings a great impact from this thank you. And Andre Calantzopoulos ceo Philip Morris. Adam schiff said he doesnt want whistleblower anymore he might have given the whistleblower the things to say this is a corrupt politician. He should be impeached, nancy pelosi should be impeached they should not allow this. Maria joining us former senator from new york Fox News Contributor good to see you thanks for joining us. Pleasure. You have seen a lot of action in your career with republicans, democrats do you think dems are overplaying their hand. Yes no doubt about it the best thing the president has is adam schiff pm be dont like him he is overstated, he is hidden from American People the fact that his people knew socalled whistleblower, this whistleblower came in and he hid that and it came out staff met with him, i never met him i didnt know him a lot of nonsense and the way doing this in secret, Holding Hearings that is why they are finally said we will make them public with us pressure has been building upon them. Sure is, American People understand, you know when you say you know people dont like him i think his problem with adam schiff the fact that two years, he has been making adamant comments, President Trump colluded with russians i see evidence in plain site a significant evidence of collusion i dont know who whistleblower is we want to meet with whistleblower we find out he did meet with all lies just for the sake of politics what do you think. Dagen and New York Times has a report that they are planning they will eventually do public hearings once they gather all this information but going to run into christmas season. And democrats have to ask themselves, is this guy the best messenger for the impeachment proceedings given the fact he would have trouble selling sweet tea to people working in construction in atlanta middle of summer how unlikable he is cant read a parody let people listening to him know that it is a parody. That was he said trumps words it was a lie another the supply fact of the matter that is one smart thing, that the trump people and president did. They released the entire conversation. And if you look at it where is the collusion . Where is the threat then when you think the president of ukraine he said i did not feel torrentiallied there was no pressure put on me it is unfortunate but the best thing the president has going, is the democrat leading this charge, because he looks so partisan and enough is enough. By the way, this speaker she was right in trying to hold this off, because this is going to backfire. And you know, where is the infrastructure bill that we all said that were going to get together . Where is usmca. Well where all the things. Drug prices legislation a lot of stuff in the balance what do you think jon. I think if you get china detail out of the way people are going to forget about this impeachment issue mooks meaningless he is not most perfect person in the world President Trump but my goodness my wallet keeps getting fatter 401 k moving higher happy with way things are. He has something he hasnt utilized the fact that his Energy Program has made us not dependent on the saudis, on middle east so that when we had this what would have been catastrophe saudi arabia instead of prices going we are selfreliant, number two guess what what . The fact that we have proud so much natural gas, we are the only Major Industrial power in the world that has reduced co2, all right . They. Iran hit saudi arabia like a blip Nothing Happened actually. We could export natural gas, makes United States less of a russian agent you might say okay . We help the washington powerhouse. Every time they said no reason democrats will talk about any policy they cant talk about usmca or any things means trump is winning. Lunemployment novt not touching it. Trump has to speak how he improved environment of United States more than any Major Industrial country in the world. Lot of good points senator great to have you joining us there coming up exclusively with its senator ted cruz first televised interview since returning from hong kong how he is holding u. S. Companies accountable for a turning blind eye to censorship. He is next. And do i get my fees back if im not happy . Like a satisfaction guarantee . Ugh. Schwab oh right, im calling schwab. Thanks carl wait, lisa lisa. Are you Getting Commission free trades and a satisfaction guarantee . If not, talk to schwab. A modern approach to wealth management. U. S. China continue talking about a deal, texas senator ted cruz penning a new oped this morning in usa today detailing censorship by Chinese Governments frern off the visit to hong kong ongoing protests nba backlash cruz and oped this morning writes for too long china has been allowed to carry out its tyrannical actions in the dark of night, the Chinese Communist party used coercion blackmail to buy silence not just from nba receives billions from the country but also from industry empires apple Google Nickell joining me right now fox business exclusive live from capitol hill first interview since asia tour concluded senate Judiciary Committee member texas senator tee ted thanks for being here this morning. Good morning good to be with you. I love this oped i love the fact that you began the piece talking about with Jackie Robinson the great Jackie Robinson tell us about it. Well when Jackie Robinson integrated Major League Baseball want simply playing a game was changing Culture Society breaking down barriers, and sports has enabled people to do that our league like nba is a Global League that they have power they have prestige, what happened last couple weeks december maying started from a simply tweet daryl morey said stand with freedom stand for hong kong benign tweet virtually every American Freedom loving people across world agree with china lost their mind they immediately respondeded by banning Houston Rockets from television in china, banning them from intent broadcast stipulating response orships demanding nba take tax it was sad nba responded with groveling apology pulled down outlets from china it isnt right u. S. Companies and in particular a Global Sports league should be able to be dragooned into being censures for you communists too Many Companies are willing is to help them be insulated from free speech. With regard broader complications senator i agree far too long American Companies have been more interested in getting products in front of 1. 4 billion people in china making money on people regardless what is going on facial recognition, they have you know, they are tracking all since coming up with a score at the end of the year if they dont like the way you life maybe you smoke may be you do something that they dont like, then you will get a demerit you wont maybe not be able to get on a train not able to travel so all companies so willing to get products in front of 1. 4 billion people forgot to protect it forgot about human abuses i think you are right the trade with china is important, but one of the big arguments when we opened up that trade to begin with was china said well, if we engage in commerce with china we will export our values we will bring the values of freedom and democracy to china, to maker that we are not i am porting their values the values of censorship to totalitarianism, i understands a whole lot of money i mean that led to the rather sad moment last week where you had lebron james going out defending the Chinese Communists defending and saying well he didnt understand he didnt understand what is going on, look the only thing that nba is understanding right now they want to make a lot of bucks selling a lot of sneakers. But, you know, china routinely tort rz murders shins nearly a million uighur muslims in improved in have consciousnesstration camps china wont allow you to say word i think bet tvrd of people that want freedom so bad the movie dr. Strange they changed ancient one to keltic they didnt want to offend the Chinese Communist government we should not have hollywood acting as the censures for to totalitarian regime you cant Google Tiananmen square get the truth, google has ai lab in beijing walked away from working with pentagon things you mentioned i keep bringing up quote xi jinping made last month when he was in at the Prime Minister nepal he said, any attempt to split china will end in crushed bodies and shattering bones, i mean this is the president of china, telling you who he is. The president has changed the conversation on this situation, you are back from hong kong saw things firsthand, tell us what is going on in hong kong because we had jimmy lay on a number of times from china, and he says that everything changed in hong kong when xi jinping got to power. And it was clear that he was dictator for life what did you see on the ground. Jimmy lai is terrific one that i met with as noted i was on asiapacific tour when i went to japan, i went to taiwan i went to india i went to hong kong. And the entire trip started outgoing to pearl harbor meeting with pacific demand, Pacific Fleet military briefing on military threats by china massive growing they are investing in enormous ants modernizing military in significant part with intellectual property stolen by us, because it is a state policy to steal intellectual property. And in traveling to each country that was envisioned as friends and allies tour he each countries we have Strong Alliance with each dealing directly with chinese increased military aggressiveness economic grevengs what is happening in hong kong knowledgeable over two million came to streets protesting freedom protesting for democracy, and amazing to see them holdings up quotes from the american Founding Fathers the people of hong kong they have enjoyed Economic Prosperity when part of Great Britain and when they returned to china, china entered an International Treat commitment to protect their autonomy protect their Political Rights and right now Chinese Government is trying to stomp them under foot, and i will tell you everyone else in the region is watching carefully what happens in china folks in taiwan nervous about what enhance in hong kong if they can do it there going to keep trying to it does elsewhere as well. Maria that was the whole point of hong kong in this experiment, to you know hong kongers maybe we can convince china that freedom works, that democracy works to become a vibrant place, to do for a long time hong kong has been seen as vibrant for International Business i dont know that i see it that way anymore given chinas authoritarian hand do you i want you to talk to us about when you Want Congress to do you are calling on congress to pass hong kong human rights democracy acting to be signed go law by President Trump. Senator cruise are yz are with us . The congressional moves are going to be so important in terms of what happens next how tough america can be, versus china, in this trade deal so what i want to hear from senator cruz what he would like to see in terms of a potential deal, tell me senator what you Want Congress to do then what you want a keel to look like with President Trump. Well, with regard to trade deal i hope we get apple trade deal i hope good trade deal if you look at trade china has long been very unfair how they treat United States, every year, china exports to the u. S. About 500 billion dollars worth of goods. At the same time every year we export to them about 100 billion dollars of goods so a five to one differential, and the reason for this is they have myriad of nontariff barriers incredibly difficult to sell our goods and services and into china. I will give you example several years ago i met with Senior Leadership of john deere was talking about tractors, they talked about how unbelievably difficult to sell a tractor in china because they have Technical Specifications for what tractor has to do when they go design a tractor to meet specifications, they change the specifications, so wonder of wonders only chinese tractor meet them sort of games they play routinely i applaud President Trump for leaning in hard on china to try to tear down those barriers i think opening up, that market to more goods and services i think that would be a very positive development go ahead. There are reports ceo of apple tim cook is going to serve as chairman of the board chinese Economic School three years reportedlies on the boert in fact past so has facebook ceo zuckerberg companies are trying to do what they can do, to stay in good sfainstead with chinese lone. Tim cook does business in china fine can be good for merck he needs to make sure that apple doesnt obey chimney of chinese dictatorship i was disappointed when apple pulled down why app taiwanese flag in hong kong you couldnt find taiwanese flag they pulled it down because chinese masters demand it also pulled down hong kong protesters, have a whefg using to pull down again presumably at behest of Chinese Government one thing to do business with them, but it is if American Companies are willing to be participants in suppression of human rights suppression of free speech that is a much more troubling line to cross. Maria so you want to see congressional action here, in terms of in terms of the hong kong protesters what do you want to see out of congress in terms of hong kong human rights democracy act. Well i am a cosponsor human rights and democracy act a few weeks ago the Senate ForeignRelations Committee on when i serve unanimously passed bill bipartisan every democrat republican came together passed it i hope the senate takes up soon ideally this week human rights democracy act we pass it pass into it law powerful to stand with the protesters in prong prong say American People support freedom when i was in hong kong i got a chance to sit down, with a number of the protests leaders activists encourage them say eyes of the world are on you one thing i encouraged follow the pattern of dr. Martin luther king follow nonviolence the Chinese Government wants to turn these into violent clashes, because that is how they dewill he get myself you, i hope path they continue. Bullying is just disgusting quick before you go on the way out this impeachment inquiry democrats block diagnose House Republican efforts to censure adam schiff of the handling of investigation, how do you think this plays out in terms of of impeachment, sir. Listen i think the house right now is turned into a partisan circus, i think the House Democrats they dont care about facts simply want to impeach president to intooech00 him since he got elected, watching the house now reminds me of famous line, from alice in wonder land verdict first trial later that is their attitude they con inviting him already if you look at process, they are not allowing minority participation, they are not allowing it pub not allowing minority witnesses called not following the precedence of the house of representatives, to protect basic due process, and i think if we just watch a political show, that have at the end of the day is not good for country. I said earlier they have got their guy. Now they just have to find the crimes, senator great to see you. Thank you so much. Take care, thanks. See you soon senator ted cruz in washington.
