Apple steps up the legal pressure on epic games, the maker of the popular game fortnite. Apple is counter suing the company for breach of contract for operating its own inapp system. It is seeking punitive damages. Epic sued apple and google last month after they pulled the fortnite game from their app stores. Apple and google get 30 of inapp purchases. Apple shares in the premarket, trading this way, a dow component, and it is up 3 and three quarters percent. Broad market positive this morning, apple lifting a few boats following yesterdays selloff. Look at the bounceback this morning. The dow industrials fell better than 600 points yesterday and is rebounding this morning, 175. The nasdaq now yo in correction territory with a 465 point decline yesterday, is now bouncing this morning. All six major tech stocks all lost more than a trillion dollars in market value in just the last three days. Joining me right now is Disruptive Tech research founder, chief analyst, lou ba bassineste, Dagen Mcdowell and Mattie Duppler. Lou, let me kick it off with you, ask you about the massive selloff in the nasdaq yesterday which took the whole market down. Was that the correction, is there more to come . You look at some of these names like tesla and apple. They were pretty hardhit yesterday. Perspective matters. Weve had five months of rallies, three days of a sudden selloff. It begs that question, is this just a Natural Healthy pause in the market or the start of something bigger, a bigger downturn. I think the answer is both. I think you have to look at names like tesla and zoom which are up 400, 500 yeartodate, completely divorced from any rational fundamental metrics in terms of valuation. You cannot put a model to tesla and zoom and justify that. Those types of stocks are in jeopardy of correcting a lot more. Tesla had its single day worse drop ever, 21 . You have other names like microsoft and apple, you know, you get into google, theyre not trading at ridiculous valuations yet, theyre trading 28 to 33 times historical earnings. Everyone wants to say this is a dotcom era all over again. Back then, those stocks would have been trading at double those prices. You really cant maria no, please, finish your thought. I was going to say, i think you cant look at tech at a block. We used to be able to trade the fang stocks in a block, no problem, buy every dip. Now you have to be more selective, you cant buy every tech stop for the rally and momentum play. You have to be selective on fundamentals, maybe move down in the market caps where you can get better valuations. Maria tesla suffered its worst decline ever yesterday, the stock was down 21 , because it was let out of the new additions to the s p 500 on friday, lou. This is the kind of situation where as we watched this stock go up there were questions as to whether or not it was equating to the companys actual earnings power or earnings visibility. I said look, you see this, there was tremendous momentum, a lot of speculation they would be included because they had four quarters of profitability. If they were included that would bring in a lot of automatic buying from index funds and etfs. That didnt happen. So it really took out that underlying buying momentum but then you also saw some large investors start selling as well. This is a thing about momentum stocks. When things change direction, they change direction quickly and now weve got negative momentum going the opposite direction. Ive been really bearish on tesla for a long time and ive been wrong, thankfully havent had a personal position in it. I dont think fundamentally the company can justify its valuation, trading bigger than pretty much every car company in the world, yet Still Producing a fraction of the cars. I think about 500,000 cars a year when toyotas doing 10 million a year. Tesla is in for more declines, just like other Companies Trading at stretched valuations. Maria what do you think, then, as far as the rest of the year and investing . There are a few unknowns obviously, the election being the biggest out there, the economy coming back as well. How do you want to allocate capital with these unknowns . Listen, i think theres uncertainty building about the election. This is a question that keeps going up with a lot of clients and among colleagues. I think the best and most prudent course of action right now is to have cash on the sidelines. If we get a nasty selloff because of whoever wins the election, you want to be in a position where you can take advantage of that. Weve seen that time and time again through this bull market that 10 to 15 corrections are followed by strong rallies once the uncertaintys removed from the market. Whether we have a biden or Trump Presidency moving forward, the market will adjust. Right now, its uncertain. Maria i think you make a great point. Dagen mcdowell, i was struck because you look at that selloff in the nasdaq and then you look at the number of stocks that actually you attribute that 460 point selloff. It was like four or of five stocks, dagen. Dagen to lous point, those are the four or five stocks that the kind of new trader, the reckless retail trader, people who maybe were betting on sports before the shutdown who are now in the market, those are the very names that individuals are attracted to, right, lou . They are. Look, these are the household names we all use these products and Services Every day, the pandemic has accelerated the use of apple, amazon and netflix. You invest in what you know and what you use. And i think dagen, youre spot on. These have been brea bred by yow traders coming in, driving them to valuations that move the markets. I think what you need to do as you become more experienced, investors will learn you you learn the hard way, youre either humble by in the markets or humbled by the markets and theyll move to names that are more you affordable. You can buy salesforce at a ridiculous valuation or small or midcap names trading at half the valuation. Maria lou, its great to get your insights this morning. Thank you so much, sir. We will see you soon. Thank you, maria. Maria check out your morning mover of. The stimulus stalemate this morning, Senate Republicans have proposed a 300 billion coronavirus aid package, it provides a 300 a week unemployment boost through december 27th. It also funds state governments, schools and Small Business. It forgives the u. S. Postal services 10 billion loan and it does not provide another round of stimulus checks. Joining us right now is the editor at large at reason, matt welch. Thanks very much for joining us. What do you think, this plan will likely be rejected in the house bees is this a starting point for another stimulus plan . Some stimulus is going to happen. Im struck by the House Democrats criticism of this, using the word emaciated to describe a bill that would spend 300 billion. It shows how much the baseline of our of conversations about washington sort of money printing machine has gone over the past, you know, 10, 15 years. Its crazy. We spent more money on coronavirus related stimulus relief, whatever you want to describe it, than we did the financial crisis of 2008, 2009, by a lot. By a lot. Were going to have more debt this year than the government has ever spent in a year and democrats are saying this is emaciated. This will give you a sense of what the spending pressures would be like under a biden presidency, should he win in november. I think theres going to be a deal, theres going to be some money printing going on from washington. There is not any more, any meaningful break on the appetite for spending in washington. But fiscal conservatives lost and theyre not making a peep much anymore. Maria youre so right. Emaciated is the word they used. Its a sign of the times of where we are. All of that money. Emaci ated. What does this mean for the campaign trail . You have President Trump campaigning in florida and North Carolina yesterday, hes warning of a, quote, economic collapse and certainly more riots if joe biden wins. And biden is heading to michigan to make his pitch, called made in america, to save manufacturing jobs which is of course what President Trump has been doing. He says hes promising to enforce offshoring tax penalties and buy american initiatives. Its interesting how biden has pretty much very similar plans as the president when it comes to onshoring and jobs and manufacturing. Yeah, its a race to the left when it comes to trade protectionism on the two major parties at this point. I think with biden what you might expect, youve seen this on other issues like fracking, when hes talking to michigan auto workers hes going to sound an awful lot like President Trump. When he goes back to raise money in new york or whatever and say wink, wink, nudge, nudge, im not really going to punish you for moving offshore. Thats the way of democratic business. We saw the same thing with Hillary Clinton and others. You get the moderate, the centrist comparatively in the field to win, to make insincere promises and make sure the financfinanceres are happy. I think americans are fed up with insincere poll of ticks. Thats why donald trump won in the first place. Its hard to see the overall impact of kind of stimulus poll of ticks are on the country when ticks ar politics are on the. Yes, people are suffering. I would say the way most people are feeling with the coronavirus this particular month are in schools. If you are a parent of one of the 57 million kids who are in public schools, youre freaking out, trying to figure out what to do. The problem with that in politics is that, is that really a National Issue . No, its handled on the state and local issues. Its hard to see how that plays out in the president ial election. Maria dagen . Dagen matt, i want to go back to the stimulus really quickly. Do we really need it at this point or is this just political posturing . I dont know, dagen. I mean, one thing that really strikes me about this is that in the republicans plan, Something Like 47 million or 47 billion, its all illions at this point, 47 billion is being spent on things like testing and specific things having to do with combating the coronavirus. Its always a fraction in these bills which strikes me as kind of bananas. What is the role of the federal government in this thing . One could argue that the biggest problem the federal government had from the beginning, and this is a bureaucratic problem, not a trump problem, is that we put the brakes on testing, weve had a bottleneck of it back in february and march with huge implications. I would have hoped that the reaction from washington would have been fix that, throw money at a problem, throw money at a testing problem more than anything else and vaccines and things of that nature that make sense and that has not been the case and it continues to not be the case. But again, we have now tried to or we devolved into seeing washington as a money printer. Do we need it . I dont know. I dont think so. But theres a ton of people struggling out there right now and theres no meaningful kind of stop on that line of thinking. Maria yeah. Well, certainly we are expecting growth in the second half but its been tough for many people. Matt, real quick before you go, your feeling on the election, is florida up for grabs right now . Sure. Floridas the best state for trump in terms of momentum in his direction. But then on the other side, arizona is up for grabs in ways that people wouldnt have thought. Theres a lot of third party voters in 2016, theyre not going to vote for third parties this time in nearly the same way. They are overwhelmingly going towards biden. Thats a problem for trump. Maria matt, its great to see you this morning of. Thank you so much. Matt welch joining us from reason. When we come back, astrazeneca is pausing Clinical Trials of the Coronavirus Vaccine. Were going to take a look at that. It has the stock down better than 2 right now. Stay with us. Well be right back. i need it so bad dont call it a hobby. Its way more than just a job. Powered by the largest gig Speed Network in america. But is it secure . Sure its secure. And even if the power goes down, your connection doesnt. So how do i do this . You dont do this. We do this, together. Bounce forward, with comcast business. Maria welcome back. Astrazeneca pausing global trials of its Coronavirus Vaccine. A participant suffered an adverse reaction. That was the catalyst and the company is calling the pause routine. It does not know how long it will last, however. The stock right now is down better than 2 . Dagen mcdowell, what do you think . Dagen this news was broken by the health website, its a news site called stat news. I will point to their story. In the story, theres still a lot of unknowns. The nature of the adverse reaction and when it happened not immediately known. Its still unclear how severe and rare the adverse event is. But one thing we do know is the rigorous scientific process to vet and prove these vaccines is working, that the data and safety monitoring board is working. Stat news reports that researchers are running other trials, are now looking for similar cases of Adverse Reactions by combing through database as part of the review by the data and safety monitoring board. I will point to this. There are a lot of completely nonpartisan scientists who are on twitter and you can follow, theyre educators, they work in the vaccine field and they will freely weigh in with some really smart comments. This is from ely murray, an assistant professor at boston university. She said what is the takehome message . Is this bad news for the vaccine . It depends on what the event is and whether there is any way to rule out the vaccine as a cause. Be patient. This is why we do phase three trials. This is the system working. Ill point out that there are total of nine phase three trials happening around the globe, three here in the United States for the vaccine. Theres the pfizer phase three, moderna phase three and Astrazeneca Oxford University Phase three. It appears right now that the pfizer phase three trial is furtherrest along in the United States but more information is going to come out about this, surely in the days ahead. Maria stat news is very reliable typically in this sector, right, dagen . This study, which began last week, was aiming to enroll 30,000 people in it, funded by fefederal agencies. Im glad you said you think this is why you think that this shows that the system is working. Dagen right, that 30 maria thats important information, yeah. Dagen that 30,000 phase three, thats here in the United States. Its not clear where this adverse reaction happened in someone in the trial, but it could be that it happened in the phase two, three trial that is currently underway in the u. K. So it could have happened over in the united kingdom. Nevertheless, this adverse event in the astrazeneca trial, it could have an impact and this is in stat news story, could have an impact on the efficacy data from the u. K. Trial and it being available if astrazeneca is going to try and get emergency authorization to get the vaccine approved here in the United States. So it does even though it might have happened in the u. K. , it would impact what happens here with the fda in the u. S. Maria sure. Mattie duppler, your thoughts . And of course, all of these Companies Already have plans in place for distribution programs with the federal government once in fact the vaccine is ready. Mattie maria, that is an extremely important point. Remember, were only six months into this thing and were already in phase three for a vaccine trial. That is an incredible rate for these companies to have gotten to this point. That is thanks in part to the trump administrations on of presentation warp speed that tried to get rid of some of the regulatory barriers to make sure we can have a vaccine, so we can look forward in the next year to start to return to life as normal. I think that is the environmental factor here that we need to stay focused on. We are light years ahead of where weve been in the past when were trying to come up with a vaccine for a disease that is this confounding and this critical. Maria yeah. All great points. Lets slip in a break. When we come back, jeff bezos marking another milestone, his new fortune when we come back, the stock up another 1 and two thirds percent this morning. Then, pulling the plug, the cashans kardashians going off the air after 20 seasons. What theyre telling fans, straight ahead. Back in a minute. Introducing stocks by the slice from fidelity. Good wednesday morning, everybody. Thanks so much for joining us. Im maria bartiromo. It is wednesday, september 9t september 9th. Lets check markets at 6 32 a. M. On the east comment. We have a rally underway, futures indicating a gain at the start of trading, a rebound after yesterday. The dow industrials up 134 points, the nasdaq up 193 and the s p higher by 24 andahalf. This after the Big Technology selloff fueled another broader selloff in markets yesterday. The nasdaq finished at the days lows, it was down 465 points. It entered correction territory. The six Biggest Technology stocks erased over 1 trillion in value over the last three trading sessions that was tesla, apple and microsoft. Dow industrials yesterday also down better than 600 points. This morning, a bounceback across the world. European indices are also bouncing. Take a look. Fq100 up 48 48 cac up 25, dax up 118 points. In asia overnight the markets took a cue from wall street, a sea of red following the selloff. The u. S. Is preparing orders to block cotton and tomato imports from chinas shin zhang region, the region where the 1 million uyghurs are being held and detained. China is denying the mistreatment of the uyghurs, saying the camps are Vocational Training centers. The shanghai composite was down 2 overnight. The tech stock selloff hitting softbank shares hard. Cheryl softbank lost 15 billion in market value this week after the Japanese Company reportedly made big bets on Tech Companies like tesla, microsoft and apple. Well, the companys ceo, theyre calling him a whale, given the huge size of the bets. 4 billion worth of options. This is all according to the wall street journal this morning. Softbank shares are up 25 this year. But again, definitely another stock to watch today. Michaels is gearing up for the busy holiday season, hiring more than 16,000 Seasonal Workers across the country. The arts and crafts retail giant says its focusing on expanding its buy online and pick up in store. Well, jeff bezos is topping forbes list of richest americans for the Third Straight year. His fortune, 179 billion as of july 2, tha 24, up 57 last yea, helped by 55 increase in amazon shares since midfebruary due to the covid19 pandemic. Taking a look at amazon in the premarket, stock is up a little more than one andahalf percent. Those are your headlines. Back to you. Maria all right. Cheryl, thank you. Gender reveal parties are now in question. One of the many wildfires burning in california generated by a pyr pyro technique device d during a reveal. They are expecting the expecting parents could face severe penalties. The eldorado fire is still burning. Joining me right now is fox news senior judicial analyst, judge an duAndrew Napolitano. What legal trouble could this couple be facing . Well, i mean, they could be indicted for the destruction of all of this property which would obviously bankrupt them and expose them to very serious jail time. Quite frankly, i dont know if anybodys been killed. If anyone has died either a homeowner or a person on the property trapped by the fire or even a firefighter, they could be indicted for criminally negligent homicide. Their defense would probably be it wasnt us, it was the pyro technique device and you should indict the company that manufactured it. We dont know how the fire started. We dont know if the device operated properly or if it was designed poorly. We dont know if the homeowners were negligent or if its the fault of the manufacturer of this device. All of those things would be determined after the fires are put out and the governor and the government, the prosecutors have the time to conduct their investigation. As well, Insurance Companies are going to want to go after the manufacturing of the device because theyre on the hook for the billions in property loss that they now have to pay for. Maria yeah. Its some story. I mean, you just obviously, it was a gender reveal. It wasnt their fault but theyre being held liable. Well, you know, people the law presumes that you intend the natural and probable consequences of your behavior. So if they were rational and careful, theyre probably not going to get indicted. But if they were irrational and negligent and careless, theyre going to be held responsible for the consequences of what they did. Whether its a gender reveal or a wedding or a first communion or a bar mitzvah or whatever the reason is for the celebration. How careful were they and how properly did they operate this equipment and did the equipment operate as it was supposed to operate . Those are questions the pros you cue tores want to answer prosecutors want to answer before they decide to file charges. Maria let me switch to this story. Jp morgan in the news today, saying that it has found evidence of employees and clients misusing Coronavirus Relief funds. Your reaction . Well, this could be very serious, maria. Remember, jp morgan is the biggest lender in the United States. The government didnt directly give this money away. It gave it to the banks. So jp morgan is the biggest distributor of the 2. 2 trillion that congress appropriated. The question is, did some jp morgan employees help customers who did not qualify for the program to receive the money . And, did jp morgan employees help customers who did qualify to receive the money, receive it twice. So was there deception and was there fraud here and were the jp morgan employees compensated by the customers for these deceptive and criminal acts . There must be some evidence of this because our mutual friend, jamie dimon himself addressed this yesterday. So we dont know exactly what the evidence is. Quite frankly, im speculating on the basis of the news reports this morning as to what it may be. But there must be a there there or jamie dimon wouldnt have made the statement that he did. Whats happening . Jp morgan is doing the investigation. If they find probable cause of crime theyll turn it over to the federal prosecutors in the area where the events took place. Maria lets not forget when the money was first doled out there were a lot of questions about why certain Big Companies got money of, why Smaller Companies didnt get money and there were lots of questions about who was getting what. Well watch that, judge. Great to see you this morning. Thank you so much. Judge Andrew Napolitano joining us this morning. Quick break and ill be speaking with President Trump advisor, dr. Coronavirus concerns and the return to work, companies are working to come up with plans but a new edelman report finds half of employees polled believe their offices are safe. Joining us right now is the ceo of edelman, richard edelman. What is fueling the fears . How are Companies Responding . I feel like its an ongoing adapting to this new normal. Maria, we have a huge trust issue on the return to the workplace. In short, half the people say i dont feel the workplace is safe. Only 20 said theyre going to go back to work anytime before christmas. And actually 8 say that theyll take the subway or the bus or the train. So in fact, theyre just locked down and its like a kid who has fallen off a bike. They dont want to get back on the bike and go back into the city. And thats a real disconnect for the country. Maria yeah, its a good analogy about getting back on the bike, richard. Your Research Shows that many people are fearing a second wave in the fall of covid, right . Yeah. Well, twothirds of the people think were going to have a second wave. The problem, maria, is they dont feel like they have a credible source of information. Theres an equal number, 20 who trust state and local federal government and Health Authorities and 20 trust their peers at work. And so they just are getting kind of a cacaphony, too many information sources. They read or watch the mainstream media, yet they talk to their doctors who maybe give them different information. So theyre deciding of to not decide. Maria and yet many are feeling like its working for them, right . I mean, theyre not nat working. Theyre not not working, theyre working but from home. I found it striking that the report found that a third of people need to read a headline three to five times before believing it, that theres such distrust on social media. Well, look, i think companies have to show four or five actual changes in the workplace for people to feel as if its different enough to come back. So masks, social distancing, more spacing in the office, temperature checks, fewer people on elevators. And our Research Shows clearly that you need four of those in order to get to belief. And its also critical, maria, that we talk about vaccines, because 42 of americans said to us, we are scared of taking a vaccine. Maybe we dont understand how it works or maybe we think the research has been done too quickly and if we dont get a vaccine, were not really going to end this level of fear. Maria and this is all among the reasons that the uncertainty is pretty stark for corporations. How do you have a model and expectations about your Earnings Growth story when youre not sure where your customers will be, youre not sure where your employees will be operating from. Well, i find it fascinating that its women, 50 of women say they wont take a vaccine. Also that its people who are in communities of color and i think we have to do a much better job of explaining how and why the research is proceeding in the way it is. It cant be just sort of like a greek play where the hero comes down at the end and saves the day. We have to step by step, inch by inch people get back to the office. Jpm said we want our bankers to come back to the office because we want them to Work Together on deals. I dont think we can force people. They have to want to come back. Threequarters of people say were for sure happy to be at home of working and were productive. There is a benefit to being together. Im in manhattan. I was in a pretty empty office yesterday. I get it. Women who have kids at home, etcetera, schools are uncertain. I get all that. We have to be sure that people feel safe when they come back. Maria yeah, you make so many great points, richard. On th vaccine issue, its the se that applies to the flu. How many people dont get a flu shot, they dont want to get a flu shot. They never get a flu shot. I rarely get flu shots. This flu shot is being talked about as being much more serious. Well get into that later on in the show. Richard, great to see you this morning. Thank you. Maria coming up, the morning stock mover on deck, well take another hot stock investors are eyeing before the opening bell this morning, coming up. New standards for oscar, check out this, the academy of Motion Pictures announcing diversity rules for best picture hopefuls starting in 2024, they include one lead actor being a person of color and internship opportunities. Dagen. Dagen convoluted rules proving once again that the Academy Awards are completely irrelevant. This is already happening on Movie Productions and you dont need to even be nominated for an oscar anymore for it to mean anything to the films box office a or the career of the actor or o actress. Maria youre right. It is already happening and putting regulations in place or rules in place is something. President Trump Doubles down on his law and order message at a rally in North Carolina, warning if biden wins the economy will collapse and the rioters, anarchists and looters will take over. If biden wins, the violent mobs, you see these mobs all over the place, theyre biden people, theyre biden states and cities, theyre democrat states. If they win, the mobs win. Nobodys ever seen stuff like this. This is all that ideology. Were not going to let it happen. If biden wins, the rioters, arsonists and anarchists win. Joining the conversation, Dagen Mcdowell and Mattie Duppler. Great to see you guys this morning. Dagen great to see you. Mattie good morning, maria. Maria whats on your mind this morning, dagen . Dagen i am i wanted to pass on a little more information of what were finding out about this the pause in this vaccine trial for astrazeneca really quickly, put on hold. There is a report in the New York Times that says the person it was a volunteer in the u. K. Trial, that was diagnosed with transverse myleitis, an inflammation of the spinal cord generally caused by infections. This was in the New York Times. It remains to be seen of how quickly they could resume this trial. So that story develops. I wanted to pass that on to the viewers. Maria we want to talk about that. The stock is down two and two thirds percent right now. Time for the word on wall street, joining me right now is divine Asset Management ceo, daniel hughes, Washington Crossing advisors, Portfolio Manager kevin kuran and chief economist lindsey piezza. First up, futures positive this morning following the big selloff yesterday. Take a look at where we stand, the dow industrials up 76 points, the nasdaq up 141 points right now and the s p is up 17. This after the dow fell more than 600 points yesterday and the nasdaq is now in correction territory. But we know that this selloff and this rally has been narrow, six major Technology Stocks lost more than a trillion dollars in market value just over the past three days. Kevin, your reaction to what were seeing in tech over the last month. Yeah, were seeing a pullback due to valuations. But broadly speaking, tech has been a darlings throughout the year and held up very well under pressure. Tech had that in spades with maybe some growth on top of it. And then on the other side, you have the lower credit Quality Companies that have really struggled. This market this year has been two different stories. Tech has been very good because of growth, endurance to covid and the quality of their Balance Sheets. But valuations have gotten stretched and now youre starting to see a little bit of a pullback as valuations normalize. Maria okay. Well, you know what . The valuations should be normalizing after that huge runup, i guess. Next up, look at tesla. I mean, its rebounding this morning but look at this stock in the last year, the electric car maker suffered its worst decline ever yesterday, down 21 . It was left out of the new additions to the s p 500 on friday, danny. Your reaction to this, a 4 and two thirds percent rally this morning after yesterdays 21 selloff. Yeah, maria, tesla lost 82 billion in market cap yesterday. But thats not surprising for a stock thats been extremely volatile. There was a lot of expectation that after the split and because they had four quarters of consecutive profitability, that they would join the s p and thats why there was such a massive runup. Dont forget, its still up 295 qlailt yeartodate, a lot of the other electric car makers traded in kind. One exception was nikola, it was up 40 of 40 yesterday, up almo yeartodate with an 18 billion market cap. Maria yeah. Its true. Were also looking at a market that is waiting or wondering if were going to see any stimulus. Senate republicans proposed a 300 billion coronavirus aid package yesterday. It provides 300 a week of Unemployment Benefits through december 27th. It also funds state governments, schools and a Small Businesses and it forgives the u. S. Postal services 10 billion loan. It does not provide another round of stimulus checks, however. Lindsey, what do you make of this proposal . Its unlikely to pass the house, by the way, but will the economy rebound without government aid going into this period where were expecting growth . Well, we have been seeing improving economic numbers and if we look to fridays jobs numbers, the better than expected pace of hiring as well as drawing down the Unemployment Rate below 8 andahalf percent, this better than expected news should alleviate some pressure on officials in washington to pass something from a timetable standpoint. But as you you said, the economy is still very much under pressure, tens of millions of Americans Still in a position of joblessness, relying on that federal assistance. There is an expectation that a package should be and will be passed. The question is the size and the scope, will this skinny package from Congressional Republicans be enough. Now, as you pointed out, many of the provisions that we were looking for in terms of extending federal assistance, in terms of providing a second round of the ppp program, these were some of the key provisions, the key variables that both sides were looking for but again, its just that light version. Will it be enough to carry the economy . That remains to be seen. Maria yeah. Well see about that. We certainly would expect a bounceback from that sharp contraction in the second quarter, thats for sure. Its great to see you all, danny hughes, kevin and lindsey, thank you so much for the word on wall street. Coming up, senator james lang board. Ryan langford is here. Ill be speaking with President Trump advisor and Coronavirus Task force member dr. Scott atlas as well. Well talk bought the latest on the pandemic and the race for a vaccine. Plus, california congressman devin nunes joining me to talk about the Ongoing Investigation into the origins of the russia probe, spying on the Trump Campaign, who could be held accountable. On kings hawaiian bread yum kings hawaiian. Before money, people tools, cattle, grain, even shells represented value. Then currency came along. They made it out of copper, gold, silver, wampum. Thats why its time for Digital Currency and your investment in the grayscale funds. Go digital. Go grayscale. Maria welcome back. The senate is expected to vote tomorrow on a socalled skinny Coronavirus Relief bill. Majority of leader Mitch Mcconnell unveiled a new 300 billion package. It includes 300 of added weekly Unemployment Benefits. It also includes relief for Small Businesses. It does not include funding for a second round of stimulus checks. Joining me right now is oklahoma senator James Langford. Senator, its great to have you this morning. Thanks very much for joining us. You bet. Good to see you again. Maria so how likely is this bill that Mitch Mcconnell unveiled yesterday . Can you walk us through some of the pushback or some of the sticking points in terms of getting something done . Yeah, the sticking points begin with the dollar amounts. Democrats from the house pushed a 3. 5 trillion package, this is a 300 about 350 of billion dollar 350 billionpackage whichs in size. It lines up with the 3 trillion package we did earlier this year. Thats the beginning point. Im trying to figure out how to be as fiscally responsible as we can. When you walk through the virus right now, the virus is not affecting some people at all. They get it, dont know it. Other people end up in icu. The same thing in our of economy. Right now, there are some businesses that are having their best year theyve ever had and other of businesses are on life support and are struggling to stay alive or have already declared chapter 11. What were trying to do with this package is to be able to target it the way we think it should be targeted, towards the highest need area, but not do blanket dollars everywhere in the economy. Lots of areas of the economy are doing very well right now. So not for profits, we have a focus on not for profits and Small Businesses. We have a focus on those that are hardest hit, Small Businesses, those that have had 35 revenue loss, they wont make it into 2021 if they dont get a second round. We have the same thing, trying to deal with the issue of the virus itself, how to get additional billions of dollars to make sure we have vaccines ready, healthcare ready, money for schools, public, private, char techs all of those elements blended into this in a way thats targeted to the highest need, not just trying to throw dollars out in general. Maria where are the needs specifically . You went through a few of them. What about city and states . We know the localities want money from the federal government. Where does that stand . I dont remember a time the localities havent asked for money from the federal government. What weve done is we took the 150 billion that was given to a lot of localities and extended the time period for their use. Much of that money, that 15 of of billion dollars, has not even been spent by states and localities, theyre trying to figure out what to do with it or where the areas of highest needs are. Theres a deadline for the end of december. We extended it to the end of september so theyve got time to be able to make sure they know what they need. Many of the cities and communities i talk to in oklahoma, they had one of their best tax revenue years theyve ever had for sales tax, a lot of people stayed at home, shopped online. Many cities, most of the needs have been met. The revenue wasnt as bad as what we thought it was in march. Were trying to give them the maximum amount of flexibility we can with time to be able to find their highest needs and apply those dollars there. Maria i wonder how different it would be if this wasnt an election year. Some of your colleagues on the left would like the chaos to continue going into the election, would like to have as weak an economy as possible. President trump hitting key swing states yesterday. He dubbed down on his law and order of message in florida and in North Carolina. And joe biden is taking his made in america message to michigan today, touting millions of new manufacturing jobs in the United States. Senator, your thoughts on where we are here and what truly materializes on the other side of this election. The other side of this election really does matter for us. If joe biden wants to talk about made in america and manufacturing, look at the last three andahalf years and whats happened in manufacturing in america, how much manufacturing has moved back to the United States. The trade deals that have been done that benefit the United States. The acceleration in new jobs in that area. If joe biden wants to say lets do more manufacturing in america, great, i know a way to do that, election President Trump. Hes done that the last three andahalf years. The law and order conversation the president has had, its a real issue. A lot of Democratic Candidates all over the country are saying the individuals that are smashing windows and that are burning buildings, they need to be heard. They do need to be heard. They need to be heard in a peaceful way, not to smash windows and destroy things and to say later we should work to understand. We should work to understand in advance. But we should also have law and order in the process of when we do that. Safety and security is a big issue in the country, always has been, its one of the prime roles for government and the president s right to talk about it. Maria of course. And its just extraordinary that youre not hearing more pushback on the left in terms of this looting and rioting. I believe there were some in the Biden Campaign who actually paid for the bail of people if they were arrested. So theres that. What does this mean for the senate . I have spoken with a number of ceos who are worried about the republicans losing the senate. Party control will be decided in november. Republicans are currently holding 53 of the 100 seats but are defending 23 of the 35 seats up for grabs. How are you feeling about the senate and holding onto the majority . Yeah, we can definitely do that. We could lose that. Its important that people actually stay engaged in this. The senate is essential if were going to deal with, for instance, Supreme Court judges or additional judges like we are doing this week, were doing District Court judges for federal bench around the country, as well as working on the issue of coronavirus. If youre going to deal with what the direction of the country is, theres only one place that both sides are always heard is the United States senate and it is essential that republicans remain in control of the senate. We have a lot of seats that are tossup seats right now that are very important, montana, iowa, arizona, colorado, maine, North Carolina, you can work your way around the states, around the United States, and you can see a lot of races that are up that are very important that people actually lean in and participate in. Some folks are focused on the president ial race and thats always important, who the president is, its also exceptionally important what the direction of the United States senate and which direction it goes so i do encourage people to get involved and to actually participate, obviously to vote but to get engaged as much as they can in whats happening in the senate, it will determine a lot of the direction of the country. Maria absolute lit it will. Absolutely it will. Good to see you this morning. Thank you, sir. Good to see you as well. Maria stay with us, coming up, astrazeneca pausing Clinical Trials of its Coronavirus Vaccine. We will take a look when we come right back. New york city making changes when it comes to the homeless population. No longer using the almost ucerne hotel as a shelter. They will relocate people housed there during the pandemic. Al sharpton said yesterday proper policing in the big apple is necessary. Dagen, your reaction, getting this reaction a, actually, on what has taken place. Dagen so the lucerne is one of three hotels that Homeless Individuals were moved into at the because of the mayor and ive had long conversations with Cheryl Casone about this very topic. But you literally have people in a residential family neighborhood who were living in the street, even though they were in the hotel, harassing people. There were sex acts being performed in broad daylight. I cant even at 7 30 in the morning describe what was going on. At one point you had more than a handful of convicted sex offenders living in one of these hotels. One of whom raped a 4yearold child right near a park and a public school. So literally bill de blasio may be the worst mayor in the history of, well, the United States of america in terms of what is going on. His initiative, thrive new york, almost not literally, figuratively set fire to a billion dollars, thats how much funding has been wasted on trying to take care of people who are mentally ill. In fact, she has a 2 million staff of 14 amid the budget crisis in new york city. So new york citys an open sewer. Dont come here. Dont come here until we have a new mayor. Over the weekend, we had 28 shot including a child and that was described as peaceful. I dont know what changes here. But i can tell you that the People Living on the upper west side, its kind of a hot bed of liberalism, until they had what was basically an open of sewer out in the street, sex acts being performed in broad daylight. They hired a lawyer who used to work for Rudy Giuliani. Thats the only reason anything got changed is because they had to go out and bring in a legal team. Now theyre acting like a bunch of right wing conservatives, arent they . Maria you and i i think take this personally because we live in new york and weve watched this city decline. But you also look at other democratrun cities, mattie, like san francisco, like los angeles. Look a th at the homeless problm there. Youve got to wonder whether or not this is policy that is creating this massive decline for our biggest cities. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer spent over 1 million on security upgrades for the governors residence, including a new perimeter fence. Whitmer cited a growing number of threats against her Amidst Police brutality protests and the states stringent covid19 lockdown. There wasnt increased security anywhere else. Mattie i would include washington, d. C. In the list of cities that cant get out of its own way. Dagen has done more than anything else to document how challenging is to live in new nw york. Its no surprise, some of the consequences of the policy decisions that have been made here. Giving Homeless Individuals shelter in the hotels doesnt bother me as much as the fact that theres zero policy in place to have Affordable Housing in huge cities. In fact, you have senator Chuck Schumer talking about how his number one priority if he takes hold of the senate is to be able to give a tax cut to higher income earners by repealing the salt deduction, nothing about individuals who need help the most. I think what youre living and experiencing in new york proves otherwise. Dagen i wish i could tell the story of what happened to me over the weekend. It is so disgusting i actually cant tell it on Live Television this early in the morning but suffice it to say, an individual who did something extremely vile in front of me, he didnt even get a ticket. The cops throw their hands up, theyre like he doesnt have an id card, what i am supposed to do . We arrested all the people that were rooting during the riots in june and they were back out on the street to rob and loot and riot again. Maria really a sad state of affairs. Coming up, the cost of the pandemic, the chairman and ceo of chubb is here to talk about the cost and weigh in on covid19 insurance. Plus a luxury lawsuit, why lvmh is backing out of the deal with tiffany. You wont want to miss that. Back in a moment maria welcome back. Good wednesday morning, everybody. Thanks so much for joining us. Im maria bartiromo. It is wednesday, september 9. A look at markets here at 7 32 a. M. On the east coast. Futures pointing to a rebound this morning, take a look. Dow industrials up about 97 points, nasdaq up 164, and the s p up 20 points after a big tech selloff fueled another selloff broadly for the averages yesterday. The dow industrials were down 632 points at the close, the nasdaq finished the day at session lows, entered correction territory with a decline of 465 points, the s p was down 95 at you 4 00 on wall street yesterday. In europe this morning, it is green across the board, rebound of sorts here as well with the fq100 up 47, cac up 25 and the dax index higher by 120. In asia overnight it was a sea of red following the selloff on wall street yesterday. The u. S. Is preparing orders to block cotton and tomato imports from chinas shin zhang region where the uyghurs were put into forced labor camps. China is denying the mistreatment of the population, saying the camps are Vocational Training centers. Tiffanys suing lvmh over the merger agreement. Cheryl tiffany shares are trading sharply lower in the premarket rights now, the company filed a lawsuit against lvmh accusing it of breaching the merger agreement. This is after lvmh said it might walk away from the planned 16 billion takeover due to problems related to closing the deal. Tiffanys says lvmh is dragging its feet to win antitrust approval. Jp morgan has reportedly opened an investigation into the alleged misuse of ppp money by some of its employees and customers. The stimulus money was aimed at helping Small Businesses affected by covid19 shutdowns. Jp morgan is looking into possible misuse of Unemployment Benefits and other Government Programs thats according to an internal memo. Jp morgan processed 28 million in loans through the ppp program. The stock is slightly higher. Marriott shares are down in the premarket more than 1 . The hotel chain just announcing plans to lay off more than 600 workers at its maryland headquarters next month due to a slump in travel amid the coronavirus pandemic. Underarmor also hurting from the pandemic, theyre going to lay off about 600 from their Global Workforce this year as part of the ongoing Restructuring Plan they put in place. Taking a look at the premarket, Stock Performance of underarmor slightly lower. A change in leadership at netflix, the Company Naming bella baharia as the head of tv, in a move to streamline on of presentations under new coceo, ted serandis. Those are your headlines. Back to you. Maria cheryl, thank you. Meanwhile, the cost of the pandemic continues to rise, covid19 taking a massive toll on the entire world, more than 897,000 people have died from the virus across the globe. We are seeing issues ranging from economic to psychological issues. The Congressional Budget Office predicting a loss of nearly 8 trillion to the u. S. Economy over the next decade. Joining me right now you to talk about the cost of covid is the chairman and ceo of chubb group and Chubb Limited chairman ceo, evan greenberg. Nice to be with you. Maria and i know youve written a lot about this in various opeds in the wall street journal, among other places, the solutions to this issue. Lets talk about the cost as you see it. I know that judges are making their decisions as we speak today and i love the fact that theyre calling it Business Interruption insurance. Is the language critical here in terms of these businesses trying to recover lost revenue . Maria, the pandemic as you rightfully say has a tremendous is taking a tremendous toll and cost on society, both health and personal and economic and the Insurance Industry is, as you know, bearing its fair share of that financial burden and rightfully so. We insure many of the risks that are exposed now, health related, credit related, liability related, that people and businesses are exposed to. Business interruption is one of those risks that in some cases businesses bought coverage for. And in other cases, and in most cases, pandemic was not insured and because its an impossible risk for the industry to take on openended. This is a catastrophe that has no geographic bound an it has no time bound and so, therefore, in practical terms, the liability is almost infinite. So we cover Business Interruption when it requires direct physical loss to the property. When it results in that. Say, a fire or an earthquake or a flood, damages your property and therefore your business is interrupted. It is shut down. In that case, Business Interruption responds. But the virus and the pan he demickeys not pandemic is not does not cause direct physical loss to a company. Thats what the judges are opining on in the court where businesses in the trial bar on behalf of business seeks relief, in insurance policies where the contracts simply dont cover it. Maria thats why i mentioned the language. Because i know that in 2006 the language was developed to preclude a pandemic type situation but lawyers are trying to recover losses from these Small Businesses and individuals and theyre looking at the Insurance Companies to pay the bill. What would be your best estimate in terms of the cost of covid . I mean, i think this whole issue has an overhang on certainly the Insurance Industry as a general rule and the stocks. But if we had some clarity, is it going the to cost 50 billion, is it going to cost 100 billion, wouldnt that be a positive for the industry and give people real clarity . Do we have any clarity on the cost of this . No one knows with any certainty. Were in the middle of this catastrophe. And no one has any certainty of what will be the ultimate bill to the Insurance Industry. Remember, this is a global catastrophe. As i said, it has no geographic bound or time limit. But from our best estimate, its going to cost the Insurance Industry on both the liability and the asset side of the Balance Sheet somewhere north of 100 billion. Which will make it the largest catastrophe that the industry has shouldered in its history. Maria all right. So tell me what the solutions are. The senate is expected to vote tomorrow on the gops latest skinny Coronavirus Relief bill. Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell revealed the bill, it includes 300 of Unemployment Benefits. It does not include funding for a second round of stimulus checks. As you know, republicans want it to include Liability Insurance as well to protect businesses from getting sued. Your reaction to whats on the table now and what ultimately could materialize. Maria, the solution to this crisis is pretty simple. In words. We have to control the virus and bring it to a level where in all geographies where we feel comfortable and safe to open up the economy. That requires basic health protocols. Wear masks. Test and trace. The balance of wash your hands, social distance, those things are proven to bring down the level of infection so that its safe for people to go back to work, kids to go back to school, and we can open the economy. And short of that, were going to waste trillions of dollars of treasure and value needlessly. The senates bill the senates bill, which makes a lot of sense, we need theres enough uncertainty and theres enough risk to business right now, given the environment were in. Those businesses that open safely, that follow the protocols of health that Health Officials recommend and in areas where it is safe to open, when they open their businesses, why should they needlessly face the uncertain prospect of litigation against them . Maria evan, real quick, we only have a couple seconds here. In the middle of all of this youve got to present a growth story to investors. I know pricing has been very strong. Hitting pause, astrazeneca stopping global trials of its Coronavirus Vaccine, a participant in the u. K. Suffering an adverse reaction which was the catalyst for this pause. The company calling the pause routine but it doesnt know how long it will last. Joining me right now is Family Medicine physician, dr. Mikhail varshavski. Thank you for having me. Maria, im actually reassured by this pause. I know that may seem surprising because we want to get this vaccine through the Development Process as quickly as possible. But we also want to make sure that its done safely. So its true, we have a single participant who has had an unexplained illness and we have to have an independent review committee to find out whether or not this is a true adverse effect of the vaccine, or simply an illness that coincided with the administration of the vaccine. Its a really important finding and only until we figure out whether thats the case well know the impact on this vaccines trial. I will say, this is the leading candidate vaccine. Its also the one furthest in the development. So i really want to see what this independent review Committee Finds before making any judgments. Maria dr. Mike, i want to ask you something thats a little more personal to all of us. A lot of medical professionals say getting a flu shot this year is more important than ever. So you and i had this little dance, what, was it a year ago or two years ago, you told me maria, you better get the flu shot. I didnt and then i got the flu. Do you think we i should get the flu shot this year and tell me if its more important than usual because of covid. Maria, its never been more important to get your flu vaccination this year. Because the last thing we want to have happen is for you to get the flu unnecessarily and get a particularly bad case of the flu, necessitating you going to the hospital. We do not want that. We want to keep you out of hospitals. We want to keep all our Resources Available to help patients if they are to get covid19 or of another illness. The flu you vaccination not only reduces the chance of you getting the flu but it also reduces the complication rate of getting pneumonia, of dying, being hospitalized with the flu. So maria, please, please, lead by example and lets see you get the flu vaccine this year. If you want ill even give it to you. [ laughter ] maria okay. You know remarks you might have a deal there. What about when you get the flu that day, you file like youre sick. Feel like youre sick. Should we ignore the fact that you get the flu and you feel sick that day. We have actual parameters where we do give the vaccine if a patient is experiencing certain symptoms and ones where we dont. If you come into my office and youre experiencing a fever, we will not be giving you a vaccination that day. Because that is not whats advised. Thats not whats been tested through safety trials. If youre having sniffles, even if you had the flu in the beginning of the flu season, there is still benefit getting the flu vaccine because it covers you from more strains than the one you potentially had. Maria i want to switch gears. This is a good question. A new study suggesting that eating processed foods can cause your body to age faster. What do you make of it . Yeah, maria, its common sense that if were eating three or four servings of processed foods its not quote, unquote, healthy. What does it actually mean . The study found that a chromosome structure, which could be used as a marker for bioaging, actually are shorter, those te lemeres are shorter in individuals who are eating three or more servings of processed foods a day. Its an important finding in understanding why processed foods are unhealthy for us. Yes, they make us overeat, eat Unhealthy Foods with high cholesterol and sodium. Having shorter telemeres, thats concerning. I encourage every one of your viewers to rethink how many processed foods that they consume in a day. Maria whats the impact on your body . Your bones are not as strong . Less vitality . Real quick. The true finding is you have more inflammation, more stress, leading to more chronic illness. Maria there you go. Dr. Mike, thank you. Great info from you as always. Well be right back. When their growing family meant growing expenses, our agents helped make saving on insurance easy usaa. What youre made of, were made for. Spring fashions making their way down new york runways this week, the catwalk switching things up this year as the industry struggles amid covid19. Kristina partsinevolos is taking a look at this fashion flip. Good morning to you. Reporter good morning, maria. Although you do have some virtual showcases for new York Fashion Week, its still going ahead and launching on septembe. This comes, the coul spring collection comes at a time when the industry is reeling. You have people that arent buying goods, International Travel is down and constant store closures. What to expect from new York Fashion Week. Youll have 30 minute virtual runway shows that will allow brands to connect with customers. Theres going to be one on one meetings too. But the average joe like you and i wont be able to go to that. But theres some big names that are opting not to showcase any lines, that will be michael kors, provenza, tori burch, they said we wont create a spring collection for 2021 and showcase in new York Fashion Week. Instead, theyre going to wait. And another big name too, marc jacobs said hes not going to be creating a collection for the upcoming new York Fashion Week either. He foreshadowed this to vogue. Listen in. Im not sure there will be a spring, summer 21 collection. I just dont know. This has been a very difficult business to be in for a long time. Reporter the big question is how do you have fashion week when so many people arent dressing up, especially when sweat pant sales are through the roof. Im wondering how many viewers are wearing sweat pants. Even vogue editor anna wintour was wearing sweat pants recently. You have fashion week, an example, coming at a time when so many retailers filed for bankruptcy and when the industry itself is going direct to consumer. That is going to be the latest trend, bypassing the middleman. New York Fashion Week still set to go but it will be a lot different as anna wintour told the New York Times. Maria kristina partsinevolos. Stay with us. Still ahead ill be speaking with dr. Scott atlas about the latest on the pandemic and the race for a vaccine. Dagen mcdowell, matter Mattie Duppler astrazeneca pausing trials of Coronavirus Vaccine, a participant in uk suffering adverse reaction causing stoppage pharmaceutical manufacturer calling this pause in trial routine, but it is unclear how he long it will last, joining me right now adviser to President Trump Coronavirus Task force member directors scott atlas great to have you this morning. Thank you so much for to being here. Your reaction, to this pause, in the o Covid Vaccine, at astrazeneca. Well, you know, this is one of the reasons Clinical Trials are done, this is an indication the trials are being done safely. Things happen during trials, that is part of the reason we cant totally predict exactly when things will be available. I mean this is not not anything really unexpected as they said it is routine, these are investigated why we do trial should be assured by this. You know, what is your take on peoples feelings out there, about actually taking a vaccine . I mean we have debates all day long about whether or not to get a flu shot, that is just a flu shot what about a vaccine and idea that people are skeptical may not want the take this even if it is on the market. That is true there is a lot of skepticism, unfortunately, about vaccines in general, vaccines are super safe, and, you know, it is a mistake not to take a flu vaccine. But speaking of this specific situation i think unconscionable what people in public arenas are saying about undermining the idea a safe vaccine production process going on, we have the safest drug production in the world. This is something that is done with our so many different organizations, inside the government involved in the trial, there is a separate independent board of experts that is nongovernmental, that is data safety monitoring board the president no one in the administration has any input or any knowledge of the data as it goes, i mean really we are in middle of a pandemic here, we have 200,000 people almost have died already. People are inciting fear into people about the vaccine . I think this is really unconscionable frankly i hate to say he they are killing people by doing that, we have people who are high risk they need vaccine when this vaccine is available on track to have it available before end of the year but, again, timing is unpredictable really with accuracy depends on events that occur during Clinical Trial but, you know, this is something people should feel extraordinarily confident about. I am going to take the vaccine, i can tell you that he everybody i know here is going to take the vaccine. Maria well i mean you are making a really important point, and that is that unfortunately, politics is getting involved in a very serious medical issue, for americans. And that is you heard Kamala Harris say i dont trust the vaccine i dont trust donald trump. So that is what you are referring to; correct . Well, i think there is a lot of people who are trying to cast doubt on the safety of the process itself, the process itself, again is completely independent the president has zero input into this zero pressure coming from president about this, none that i know of even if he wanted to he could not influence the trial, this is really off the rails again one of the many failures of people in the Public Sector here, who are instilling fear into public we need commons logic be rationale this is going to be a safe production if we are lucky to have capitalized on incredibly rapid process we are going to be thrilled to have this vaccine. Before i continue on Covid Vaccine you just said a mistake not to get the flu shot, right dr. Atlas . That is right the flu shot is recommended. And if you look at the cdc, recommendation you know flu shot is only taken, by the way, by 50, 60 americans which is a shame not one hundred percent effective not a magic wand no vaccines are the flu shot is safe we known about this for years important to get stop hospitalizations stop people going to die from the flu, tens of thousands every year die from the flu. Maria yeah, in terms of a Covid Vaccine Anthony Fauci said unlikely released before novembers election more likely by the end of the year you said a moment ago you do believe that we will have a vaccine by yearend; is that right . . This well, from what i hear. I am not involved with vaccine trial i hear discussions, and what i hear that is we are on track, to get the vaccine brvr the end of the year. No one nose no one with literally no one i dont know how strongly i can say that knows if it will be october or not you can being predict all you want that it wont be available, i just think, no one knows. You know, it is all about, how many being infections occur all about the data has nothing to do with what somebody thinks is going to happen but what is on track, according to people in the trials is by the end of theier. Maria so as we wrap up here give your status check where we are right now in terms of the coronavirus, obviously, there are worried have a that we are going to see secretary wave in the fall here we are september. Where are we . Weve had a tragic loss of lives no question about that learned a tremendous amount about virus we know who to protect, who is less vulnerable we know we have to do better in the nursing home with elderly and administration is really doubling down on protecting them we also know the harms of the lockdown prolonging lockdown is a terrible thing, destroying families, destroying children, sacrificing Children Education future we need to safely, safely open schools in person do everything we can to do that at least some pathway toward that we need to safely reopen society because the lockdown is very harmful as a Public Policy person, you have to care about impact of a policy, it is not just about stopping covid19. At all costs. Maria yeah, you make a great point dr. Scott atlas great to see you this morning sir thank you very much we will keep watching thank you. Maria welcome back on campaign trail, President Trump hitting key swing states yesterday, doubling down law and order much in florida and North Carolina. Joe biden is now taking his made in america message to michigan touting millions of new manufacturing jobs, in the United States, joining me right now maryland Congressional District candidate kimberly, great to see you acquaint thank you for joining is. How you feeling about your race. Good morning thank you for having me i feel really good about race we saw numbers recently for black americans support for President Trump you are hopefully checking my name comoeth a lot of support from a lot of people i dont think people even realized that we are going to vote republican in the first place, many, many on top of that all the people that are afraid to admit voting for trump, you know ive got people in streets every single day telling me lot of people energized, momentum increasing each day people listening to the message we are talking about career opportunities, talking about School Choice talking about law and order, everything that President Trump is talking about, and i think we are going to fair well. Maria you kimberly you raise important point African American vote is crime for President Trump can you walk us through what you believe are most important issues for that community, whether or not, the president s policies have resonated there. Absolutely, so i think i think first and foremost what we see in headlines all the time that is that whole Defund Police narrative a poll i think by gallup 81 black americans do not want to Defund Police, those that are preyed on most those in dangerous neighborhoods like baltimore, areas that immediate more police on the ground, we are down now so if you talk about law and order, that message is resonating because people want more law and order. Maria kimberly this is such an important point and an issue that we take up on this room a lot. Looking at some of the democratic run cities in this run they are a wreck look at new york look at chicago, san francisco, los angeles. By the way, these are l. A. San fran districts nancy pelosi and adam schiff you walk long streets locally there are tents needles on the floor homelessness et cetera, what is the policy in the tell me about baltimore, because you are seeing a similar situation there, and what policies do you believe are behind this . Yeah, so, you know this is the important piece i think and that is the fact that we just dont have career opportunities, baltimore used to be a manufacturing powerhouse ironic that joe biden talking about in america with him and colleagues that signed over to nafta pushed manufacturing jobs out of this country, when you look at ro he chester that was another manufacturing hub, here youve got a punch of Police Officers now resigning, over retiring early they dont want to deal he will with nonsense we have going on cant afford to have any cops leave in Baltimore City we are down more Police Officers i am saddened the way things are going across the country i think people listening to donald trump saying you know what maybe this is our guy. Former president obama chatting with Kamala Harris, talked about the campaign trail, relationships with joe biden. Kimberly will he obamas involvement be critical for the democratic ticket . S it seems like he is behind a lot of it, people are questioning whether or not he is going to be running the show should joe biden get in. Yeah, i dont think going to sell, just like 2016 we saw Hillary Clinton was running on being president obama 2. 0, what dn. Y president obama was elected i think a lot of people wanted that first black president right they put through Hillary Clinton now youve got joe biden, but they dont fit the bill here, you know always talking about, the color of ones skin gender piece, yeah youve got Kamala Harris on ticket i dont think enough to sell joe biden, we see joe deteriorating each day, i cant even imagine what it is going to be like for him to debate President Trump he is very low energy, doesnt seem with it we see now his his Campaign Across the country right now youve got five or six people in front of him at a time where youve got President Trump last night in front of audience of 15,000 begins a i cant see joe biden pulling this off. Maria . Kimberly quick before you go, how are you going to pull this off in baltimore like new york city, it is a 90 plus percent liberal vote, even for mayor de blasio in new york city, the electorate that came out to vote were so small he got in because its democratic led and it is democrat vote. Yeah, so you know a 26 democratic district i am running in i think people starting to see ways going on want a change, we have had democrats in the charge over 50 years are billions of dollars into about Baltimore Area no one seems to know where that money has gone people want a change i am hoping to be that change for those people. All right kimberly we will be watching certainly good for you kimberly joining us this morning, we will be watching, from baltimore, coming up President Trump, being recognized for a mainly accomplishment this year we are going to tell you all about it when we come back a great white shark spotted less than 10 feet from share the Close Encounter coming up mornings with maria live on fox business. Oh, boy you thought people by 2016 election about trump nominated going to make heads spin not only for Peace Agreement but also for role keeping United States out of Foreign Affairs trying to get out of the i will engagement in the middle east an interesting proposition particularly up against joe biden having, has made a career out of his work in Foreign Affairs. Dagen. Dagen this speaks to something that President Trump needs to do on the campaign trail, that i talked about, during his time in office. And that the the wall street journal kind of writes somewhat about today. They have an editorial called a trump comeback question mark. But it says that biden wants to make the campaign a referendum on trump and biden is succeeding with trump help but you need to focus on policy not personality, the media is not going to do that for you. So you need to avoid these voters have heard several years his base firmly in support of President Trump he has to worry suburban voters college educatored voters women left him the focus Campaign Needs to stay on policy make it a joyous as the wall street journal said not between two men but two futures, to policy. Maria i thought it really did a good job pointing out policies would not be more different make sure to spotlight that what your policies are versus bidens policies. Dagen yes hes got to focus on that like the rambling joe biden is stupid gets loss in the casserole. Focus. Do we ne anything about durham and criminal investigation where this goes. We are still waiting on john durham in terms of any visibility, in the time line, are i dont have that i can tell you additional documents that i have been able to review say that a number of the peter strzoks, andy mccabes james comeys, others in administration previously are in real trouble because of their willingness to participate in an unlawful act i use the word unlawful at best broke all kinds of protocols it is a worse people should go to jail as i mentioned previously. Joining me right now california congressman House Intelligence Community Ranking Member house ways and Means Committee member author of the book countdown to socialism congressman devin nunes here lead integrator on russia probe four years going good to see you. Thank you for being here. Great to be with you this morning, thank you. Here we are, what under 60 days away from election, congressman we still havent heard from john durham you heard what mark meadows said do you believe we will see more guilty please in addition to Kevin Clinesmith offered a document that was evidence hard foe we are not involved in the investigation do i think this is a good thing, i have said many times, unlike noourl witch hunt we dont know what with durham is up to, we can make criminal referrals maria which we have done, if you notice there is a lot of people that arent talking or talking writing books coming out talking so that is giving more visibility, into what weve been able to see, the challenges always been who ordered kill shot so to speak who ordered this had clearly a conspiracy here wasnt draement up by gold old fbi agent working hard came across russians maybe trying to do something with Trump Campaign how do we know is that not true . There is no evidence any russians involved this was all about dossier that Clinton Campaign inserted this in 2016. Into the campaign, are and essentially was a bunch of lies. So, we dont know my guess is they are trying to peace all this together there are lot of difficulties weve seen a lot of Text Messages weve seen that is all evidence but i think at the end of the day, it is who ordered this that is the question that durham has to get to the bottom of who who wanted this done . And congressman i think that john durham is looking at some activity we saw before july of 2016 i mentioned that because that is when fbi claims that they launched an investigation, into the Trump Campaign july of 2016. Yet way before then we see former spies, some people might call them issued with a up spies like Stefan Halper getting paid huge sums of money, right before the surveillance on carter page and Trump Campaign began we know Stefan Halper paid 200,000 dollars 2015, 411 thousands in 2016, for doing a report on china sand russia, i am not buying, pays that kind of money i ask you do you believe that john brennan was running a book inside the pentagon, paying money out through office of net assessments to spies is to track trump people . Well to bring up key point that was how were taxpayer dollars going to Defense Department and ending up in what i call the came Cambridge Club former british spies, as you said, supposed american spies hiring people appear when you look at work they did just bogus work that wouldnt have taken that kind of money to do, american taxpayers must have gotten ripped off. We dont know who who organized that. What my guess is is that this is just a guess well, i think will be an educated guess i should say, but there must be times between the fusion gps people who hired the foreign spy supposedly went to you russian sources and Cambridge Club dollar are too many tie theres too many ties between Alexander Downer supposedly australian diplomat happened to run into trump official happened to Say Something about emails nonadded up how does that feel look Hillary Clinton probably really infers about emails being found on her illegal server, they were looking to do both a an end run around that to make it looked like somehow Trump Campaign was involved and at the same time, have an the october surprise trying to tie donald trump to russia it was really the Obama Administration Hillary Clinton had held all ties to russia for gods sake they are the ones had the russia reset. So these are this is why questions you ask are deep there is a lot there. And this is why it is i am sure staking durham so long to get to the bottom of. I wanted to appointed out john brennan i know he had interview with jun durham a couple weeks ago my sources continue to point to him as overall mastermind in terms of massive payouts, to former spies, that ended up, Stefan Halper supposed to do report on china russia meanwhile, in cambridge bumping into carter page george papadopoulup papado clovis as well dont forget papadopoulos and page essentially low Level Campaign people some cases just volunteers that is why so questionable what would all these people with long resumes be doing meeting with these people what appears to be setting them up with lies and deceit. Why paid so much will have a beer ma411,000 one lump jum havent they confessed how come Lindsey Graham keeps saying going to call witnesses halper has not been called Alexander Downer not called all questions, want answers to let me ask you bhurnt biden apparently in hot water again you were the first lawmaker, that brought china up to me, 3 1 2 years ago because you were doing deep dive on china in intelligence area, and so, that the that is one issue that keeps coming up a fund corun by son of the democratic president ial nominee is helping facilitate the sale of michigan based auto parts maker, to one of chinas main militarying aircraft makers Aviation Industry corporation of china that is avic what can you tell us about bidens connection to china and why his sons fund has enabled this acquisition of a company that is tied to the chinese military. I can cut right to the chase the overall problem with joe bidens hiding in his basement. And not having real questions posed to him by the press. So, his son not only had a lot to do in china where he raised money for a fund that is the way i understand that fund failed, at the same time, son was involved in ukraine, as you know, now, what did they try to do to trump tried to find it was trump had something to do with ukraine very similar and follows along the same line, that whatsoever their doing accuse you of doing. Biden needs to sit down, and ask these questions donald trump should ask these questions also, because you know, you have seen the pictures of biden there threatening prosecutor in ukraine biden going to china his son setting up a fund it do you have the mean any is illegal, but the american taxpayers and American Voters have a right to know whether or not they think this is proper or not.
