And as far as you have noticed, theres an election going on. Two weeks from tomorrow, we could know the winner. Joe bidens been in the lead for months, but 2020 being 2020, anything can happen. Hunter might be president. We got a pandemic, economic problems, race issues and the freaking dodgers are in the world series. Come on, man. Is so what are the last two weeks of the election going to look like . Oh, probably holy hell. But joining me on tonights Fabulous Party panel, its town hall. Welcome, everyone. Yea welcome back. Kennedy so excited. You guys are so cute. We could yea and be cute for hours, but no one would watch. Matt, i want to start with you because i feel like a lot of people are feeling this is the most consequential election of our lifetime or anyone elses lifetime, and i think thats an overexaggeration. What are we missing here . What is the media hyperfocusing on that the rationalists feel is a bunch of hogwash, and what should we be looking at . Its the history of lifetimes. No, that style of thinking, the whole flight 93 election which you see on the right and on the left, its a, it never stops, right . It can only escalate. And so while its clenching, that is actually giving incentives to people who would be authoritarians or authoritarian lights or who just accumulate power in washington whether theyre democrats or republicans. Youre egging them on when you say that stuff. Youre saying, please, take the club and beat my opponents with it. The other thing theyre missing is, hey, look, last time around almost 8 Million People didnt vote for those teams. Who are they going to vote for this time and why, thats one of the most underrated things about this election. Many of those people are choosing biden. Thats a big problem that President Trump has. Thats why hes out there saying youve got to woo libertarians. Hey, im doing all this libertarian stuff you didnt notice kennedy that they havent really been doing. Which is fine. I think its fantastic, but i also think we get easily mise directed, guy, and, you know, some of it is by President Trumps twitter account and the other is by journalists that are very labely, following that account and things like it. In your estimation, and you are slightly more conservative, how do you see it . First of all, we missed you so much, and were so thrilled that youre back. I think i speak for all of us here and many people at home. I am curious why youre already scraping the bottom of the barrel with me on this program kennedy youre the best mistakes were made. Mistakes were made already are. If President Trump wants to appeal to libertarians, and i think hes got a few arguments that he could perhaps tout, others that he should maybe not mention, he could just tweet out once a day with no accompanying commentary just a head shot of neil gorsuch, Supreme Court justice. Just be like, i did that, i totally did that. And i think a lot of kennedy im glad you brought that up. Were going to talk about that later in the show. Go ahead and finish your thought, dear. We will. I think that this election is still primarily about coronavirus and the various ripples emanating from that crisis including the economic crisis. And we see in poll after poll that joe biden is leading on the issue of handling coronavirus, President Trump is leading on the issue of the economy. If people are feeling better about where the virus is and what the status quo is, i think the economy could creep back up and help President Trump. Sort of running out of time on that, why joe biden in all of this polling remains ahead. Kennedy yeah, i dont know if thats going to happen. What would have to happen, jessica, it seems like a coronavirus would somehow have to mutate in the next two weeks and actually be good for people and magically earn them money. [laughter] do you think that will happen . I mean, wilder things have happened. Donald trump is president of the United States of america. But i feel like unless we get everyone a personal dose of regeneron, which is the cureall for anyone even feeling a little . Irly, that the sniffley, that the dynamics of this race are not going to change. Weve been talking about this all summer, how stable it is. Its as stable as joe biden was, frankly, from South Carolina onwards and into this general election. And i dont foresee that changing. And to matts point about how independents and undecideds or unafail created unaffiliated people didnt go for east candidate, joe biden doesnt p if iss as many people off piss as many people off oh, is that not allowed . Especially on night one . But maybe because this actually is a battle for the soul of the nation. Kennedy yes, and, you know what . Im glad you brought that up, im going to be talking to joe, whos running for president. Thats really happening. President ial candidate joe yes. Kennedy is on the show. Earlier today the president whos president right now, he said hes very confident hes going to win in two weeks, round two. Listen to this. Going to be a repeat of 2016 . I think so. I think well do better of 2016. Were way ahead of where we were x we built the greatest economy in the world, and were building it rapidly again. If you look at arizona, you look at the job theyve done, and im just leaving for other states, every one of these republicanrun states are doing phenomenally. The democratrun states are not, but theyre not going to affect our numbers very much. Kennedy behind the scenes some Trump Supporters arent so much sure. The failing New York Times reports staffers have begun looking for new jobs on capitol hill. Thats optimistic. That doesnt mean its a lock for democrats. On the left theres real worry about some 2016 deja vu where trump snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. So who should be nervous here. Guy, i will start with you, or because you have worked on the hill. You know what its like to have to scramble for jobs. How real is the fear in the administration that some of these people will be unemployed come january . Just as a fact check, i have not lived on the hill, but i live here. Kennedy you seem hilllike. I thought i saw you at a mixer. [laughter] yeah. I may have been at a mixer, just not as a staffer. Look, i think republicans probably have more to be worried about right now based on a lot of the polling, which could be wrong. But i would say that there are elements that cut in each direction. If i were a republican, what id be nervous about is that joe biden is not nearly as this is to jessicas point not nearly as disliked as Hillary Clinton was. Kennedy amen. Thats the biggest thing that hes got going for him. That is sad for him, but youre absolutely right. Go ahead. Its a huge one. His fair about rating favorability rating is so much better than his, that creates an issue of trumps trying to climb the hill and come back. Be nervous for some of this id be nervous for some of this Voter Registration data. Republicans have been working very hard for the last four years closing the gap on registrations, and if this comes down to a close election, that actually could tip things back towards trump in another epic upset. Kennedy thats the thing, there are so many issues that are so weird. And if you looked at the voting pattern, a lot of democrats have already voted, and they say their going to theyre going to vote by mail as opposed to voting in person. And youve seen a lot of early voting so far. The worry for democrats could be that if you hear these poll numbers, that joe biden is 9 points ahead nationally, that, you know, they feel its a lock and they stay home. Im not that worried about it this time around. And then we lose, and then you have to listen to me cry for four years on your program. But i dont think that democrats are going to do that especially considering what happened last time, especially with the progressive left. There were a lot of bernie supporters who were so turned off from the primary and thought they didnt get their way on the issues that really mattered, bernie didnt pull the platform quite left enough, a couple hundred thousands of them voted for jill scott. Now theyve seen what a Donald Trump Administration looks like, and it is at least as bad if not worse than what they thought. So im not concerned about that kennedy i disagree with you there okay. Kennedy if you stay in the trump administration, youre going to make so much money when you sell your tellall. Betsy devos . Shes going to be rich. Shes already rich. In fact, the first the final president ial debate is scheduled for this thursday. The Trump Campaign spokesperson says theyre already raising a ruckus. Today bill stepian sent a letter to the commission on president ial debates, or as hes calling them, the biden Debate Commission, urging them to make Foreign Policy a focus. And the president further laid into the commission this afternoon. Watch. Ive done very well in debates. You know, you do what you do. The last debate i had two on one. I usually have two on one at least, and i did well in the last debate, and we did well with savannah guthrie, based on reports. Kennedy despite the trash talk, sources within the president s campaign say trump will do less interrupting, and quote, 2kweu6 joe biden a little bit more room to explain himself on some of these issues. And your president was undisciplined, and he could have peppered the debate with a few well of placed interruptions, but it was way too much. Does he have the wherewithal to change course because he really needs a win here. Well, of course we think the president won the debate the first time kennedy come on, man. In fact, joe biden, we believe, came in third behind and behind chris wallace. But, you know, i think maybe there is some thoughts of giving joe biden a little bit of room to give himself enough rope in this next debate, which we had thought was going to be focused on Foreign Policy because thats what the Debate Commission told us it was going to be, and thats what the tradition has been for this third debatement but joe biden is going to want some room, i think, because he needs to answer the question about what we have learned from Hunter Bidens laptop. These emails that proved that he lied about never having discussed his shady foreign business dealings. And now that there was an agreement with hunter and his Business Partners to actually cut joe biden himself in on the action and give him a 10 stake in this Chinese Energy company that has very close ties to communist china. So the question that joe biden should be forced to answer thursday night is are you, as a candidate for president of the United States, compromised by the communist chinese. Very important question. And ill tell you what, Foreign Policy issues are not, ill bet you President Trump finds time to put that question to joe biden. Kennedy well, he doesnt have to. He shouldnt have to because a good debate moderator whos worth her salt would pose that question because there are some Critical Issues at stake regardless of, you know, sort of the weird elements surrounding the a laptop dropoff and retrieval process. I want to know was he in any way benefiting from his sons relationships. You know, forget brees burisma, this really is about millions and millions of dollars coming from china. And if not, if its stolen, fabricated, go ahead and issue a believable denial with some proof. And they havent done that at this point. So who sits down and talks with the president after the debate performance . Because, you know, pretty much everybody said he interrupted too much. Well, we think the president did very well, as i just told you kennedy no, you dont. No. Won the first debate kennedy no, you dont. We also think he won the most recent debate with savannah guthrie. She asked to 43 questions from only 10 from the audience members. Joe biden would have to face what his own defense secretary when he said joe biden has been wrong on every single Foreign Policy call in the last four decades. And its no wonder that joe biden would not want to have a Foreign Policy debate, and the commission is doing his bidding and now moving away again ceding the rules to joe bidens wish because we know that biden doesnt want to fight on that ground because the president has a Foreign Policy recocord trd r r cant be be be matchetcd. Kennedy the Senate Judiciary Committee Said to vote this thursday on President Trumps Supreme Court nominee, judge Amy Coney Barrett, with a floor vote expected soon after a. Acb is pretty much a shooin. Democrats could go to the mats like they did with two years ago, but theres really nothing theyre going to do to stop this confirmation process. Where are you, devils triangle . Does she deserve a sew scotus seat . The party panel makes their triumphant return, guy benson, Jessica Tarlov and mat welch. So, math mat, what should some of these senators have asked her . I would have liked to hear more on her writings on Congress Delegation authority. So in a time of crisis, congress can say, hey, look, the bad guys are coming, we have to have the presidencies president s us pend habeas corpus. All politics is about the white house, the president. Congress doesnt do anything. Even like passing budget kind of things. All of these questions are decided at the Supreme Court level fundamentally, and all this powers being exercised at the president ial level. So so im glad that shes a skeptic just like guy was saying earlier about neil gorsuch. Hes a big skeptic of regulatory power. I would like to hear more of that from Amy Coney Barrett but, unfortunately, our proceedings now are so nakedly partisan that theres just not a lot to glean from the cha a raid nhl. Kennedy no, and it was a charade. I was hoping is some of the democrat senators would have asked about mass surveillance, guy, but they were so hyperfocused on the aca, and it was such is shtick that they actually undermined their own arguments. Well, i think one senator was very focused on surveillance of some sort, and that was shell done whitehouse who seemed to be paranoid about all sorts of things. [laughter] theyre watching us, everyone be careful. I actually am going to disagree, i think the hearings were pretty substantive. You mentioned the kavanaugh brawl. One of the reasons, this is a political point, that republicans apparently have the votes to confirm barrett later this month is because of of the kavanaugh brawl. It was a referendum in 2018 on kavanaugh. We had an election, Chuck Schumer himself said lets make these a referendum on kavanaugh, and a bunch of voters gave republicans two more senate seats to give them some breathing room to confirm someone like barrett which is, i suspect, whats going to happen, and thats an outcome that i fully support. Kennedy yes. They didnt accuse her of being a rapist, ill give you that, but if i heard one more story about someone who was hypothetically going to lose their insurance, i was going to throw something at the old tv. But instead you also had people like ted cruz, jessica, asking things like do you play a Musical Instrument . Really . Is that necessary . You went to law school, you clerked for the Supreme Court, ask her a real question. Sorry, jessica, go ahead. And, obviously, shes going to play an instrument the because she is a perfect human. And that was my takeaway from the Supreme Court hearings, besides the fact that i do not agree with her ideologically on any level, she seems pretty flawless in terms of attainment, in terms of family values and kindness that she showed to her students. I thought that the blind student who was in her class who is now the first legally blind clerk of the Supreme Court gave the most powerful testimony on her behalf alongside the dean of notre dame who had also done the same for elena kagan. And i thought that brought up a nice point about the symbiosises that can exist when you supporting people of good character who you think will interpret the law fairly, a la Justice Ginsburg and scalia. I would have liked to have heard more not necessarily about the aca, because i didnt believe her in terms of protecting it, but i wanted to hear more about gay marriage, especially in light of comments that alito and thomas have made about reevaluating that decision. Does she see the 2015 decision as a super precedent like brown v. Board of ed, and i wish Amy Klobuchar would have had kennedy oh, Amy Klobuchar wasted her time talking about we used to walk into the woods and we would see tracks, and wed see what kind of animal made those tracks. He is a criminal. Hes a criminal. He got bought. Read his laptop. And you know whos the criminal here . Criminal for not reporting it. You are a criminal for not reporting it. Will you be surprised if anyone else follows the leads in some of these emails which have not been vociferously denied . If they were fake, they certainly would be. Well, first of all, the emails have been corroborated in a number of ways. There are crossreferences between Business Partners, the people who have handled the computer, namely the shop owner. All of the documentation, whether it be the signature of hunter biden, whether it be the signature of the agent9 with the spining that, the fbi agent, there is this thing has been pretty well indexed in as valid. And thats a problem for the bidens. It is also a pop for the leftwing media, as you note, that is refusing to cover this story and deny the public their right to know along with, of course, theyre certainly not alone. Along with twitter, facebook, social media, the big tech titans who are authoritarian to an a absolute degree. And were witnessing what this world would look like with the fellow there in the mask in the white house. Kennedy unless Elizabeth Warren is his attorney general, because she wants to take those companies apart with a crowbar. Lets talk about this calendar issue, because the former Vice President s saying i didnt meet with this person on that day. It wasnt on my calendar. Youve been inside the white house. You know how these things work. Is every infollowal meeting informal meeting documented in the Vice President s calendar . As you well know, absolutely not. And fact that they would hold that up as their, if you will, defense against these charges of meeting with the head of the ukrainian, with the kazakhstan leaders amongst others is ridiculous. And the number three person in burisma, the Ukrainian Energy company. These kinds of meetings that apparently the bidens liked to take with foreign officials, especially those with lots of cash, are not the kind of meetings that you put on an official public record. And its done, by the way, not just by the corrupt, but by officials in the normal course of business. Kennedy lou, we only have about a minute left, and i want to talk about the president ial debate, because Senate Republicans apparently with the debate the commission on president ial debates is instituting a mute button. And so each candidate will have two uninterrupted minutes. Is so, clear lu, the mute button is there to sort of baby and protect joe biden, yes . Well, without question. [laughter] who else needs protection . Here is biden in the biggest scandal of the, you know, since, well, the previous scandal which was the effort or to overthrow the president of the United States. And, again, every Major Institution in this country seems to be protecting the left wing, the deep state, the radical dems. The two minute mute, who cares . Its an absurdity. The commission is, ill just say it kindly, theyre flawed. [laughter] and scrambling trying to come up with some sort of sensible approach. Theyre as much fun, frankly, as the debate itself. Kennedy i know. Theyre so outdated. This whole process, its so archaic, its so dumb. But youre really smart, and i miss seeing you in the bidding, lou. Its nice building. Its nice to see your face. And remember, biden has the opportunity to be compromised not just by one country, given the dealings of hunter biden and the arrangements they made; china, russia, romania kennedy hey, back off. And so do, apparently, joe and hunter biden, because neither of them have said that the emails were inawe innocenter inauthentic. So do the targets of the story. Kennedy and what about in this talking point from democrats that theres nothing to see here, this is just a russian disinformation campaign. What does that mean . Part of this surging paranoia thats been with us for the past four years, unfortunately, where russians have become a kind of permanent bogey. But whats sad to me is, obviously, you would expect democratic partisans to come up with something when you have this sort of damning october surprise story. Whats more disappointing is so many reporters punishing each other for even mentioning our story or for asking joe biden questions about it as happened with the cbs reporter, bo erickson, where he was reprimanded by all his colleagues for just asking a simple question. This really is not the kind of behavior that gave us all the great reportage of the last century from pentagon papers to, i dont know, any number of Great Stories that broke in the past few years by essentially reporters circling the wagon around the powerful. Kennedy yes, and asking, asking some basic questions. Where did this come from . Why were they having these exchanges . What came of any of these deals . Those are some really big issues, and a lot of politicians make sure their kids have sweetheart jobs. Very few of those kids end up making 10 million from the communist chinese. How long have you had this story . Have you been sitting on it and just hatched it as an october surprise . So i have to say im as you know, theres a wall between news and opinion, im on the opinion side. I learned about it when my colleagues, the news editors and writers had publishes stuff. I was surprised like everyone else was as the revelations came. I have nothing to add about the internal process in terms of the reporting. Kennedy all right. And is your twitter account still locked . The New York Post can account . It is because they demand that we delete our reporting by claiming that its based on hacked material when, first of all, it isnt. And, second of all, theres plenty of other reporting out there based on unauthorized release. Thats journalism. Kennedy yes. And it hasnt been censored. Kennedy one of the Biggest Issues end i encounter when i talk the people about voting, people say how dare you vote for someone other than joe biden because donald trump is a racist, and if you dont vote for joe biden, youre a racist, and youre throwing your vote away. What do you say to people that theyre throwing their vote away if they dont vote for someone whos got 40 in the polls . Fellow, i give. Well, to biden voters id say, well, you know, the Democratic Party in the 60s, they were antiwar, they believed in free speech, and the democrats are nothing like that anymore. The only antiwar votes out there, we all know that the Democratic Party machine chose joe biden. What i would tell the voters, you know, if joe biden is your best pick, and you like the fact that hes a war hawk, vote for him. But if you want to send a message to the Democratic Party, hey by the way, the Democratic Party isnt acting like democrats anymore. Kennedy no, theyre not. Theyre acting like socialists, but so are republicans with all this big spending. The only difference is theyre talking about cutting taxes. Democrats are going to raise them, theyre going to raise spending phenomenally. And that, to me, is the Biggest Issue in this election that no ones talking about. Except trump raised taxes im sorry, spending kennedy yeah, he did, no doubt about it. Hes a businessman, i know how to balance the budget, im going to cut spending, by the way, im going to bring the troops home, and he did none of that.
