In analysis by the London School of Economics (LSE), leaving the UK would amount to a loss of annual income of between £2,000 to £2,800 per person. Due to the volume of trade between Scotland and the rest of the UK, Brexit followed by independence may result in a 8.7 percent loss in income per capita for Scotland, the report stated. In a further blow to Nicola Sturgeon’s plans to break up the UK, the report also found Scotland’s economy would shrink by at least £11billion a year if it became independent.
