MANSFIELD - Ginger Perreault promised her father that before he died, she would find where their ancestor was buried.
Her father had been searching for a good portion of his life for John Mann, who fought in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and she picked up where her father left off.
Perreault, who works for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in Florida, called cemeteries in and around the Mansfield area during her lunch breaks, hoping that one would have Mann, who died in Richland County in 1824.
She also signed up for Ancestry.com hoping to find distant relatives. Her search for the patriot lasted nearly a decade.
