Zimmerman spoke at length about his views of the fatal shooting by police of Kevin Peterson Jr. with District Court Commissioner Abigail Bartlett. Their conversation was recorded on a hot mic earlier this week.

Prosecuting Attorney Tony Golik declined to comment on the substance of Zimmerman’s statements, saying: “I think the action that we are taking speaks for our opinion.”
This is the first time his office has filed a blanket motion to block a judge from presiding over cases, Golik said.
