Asia. Waiting for him, an election scanl in alabama thatould dominate the Republican Majority Congress for the next month. He also has to deal with getting tax reform passed through congress. Plus new information regarding a connection between donald trump jr. And wikileaks during the 2016 gop president ial campaign that could affect the congressional investigation into russias impact on the election. Nbc White House Correspondent Hallie Jackson joins us now from manila. Halle, good morning to you. How is the white house describing the results of the president s trip . Reporter if you listen to the president , frances, in the maybe last hour, hour and a half here, it was a tremendous success, a huge success. It was an incredible trip. Those were the words he used repeatedly again and again in describing to reporters what he got out of this 12 days abroad. A long trip, a marathon, frankly, the longest trip to this region in a generation for a president of the United States. And lets dive into this a little bit. Because one of the comments that the president made in these sort of impromptu remarks to reporters just overnight east coast time was about the incredible relationships, the incredible sort of development of these interactions that hes had with leaders in the region from japan to south korea to china to vietnam to the philippines. And i think thats significant. Because when you pull back and look at the context of this trip, frances, the president built relationships with traditional allies of the United States japan, south korea. But he also worked on Relationship Building with president xi jinping of china and Rodrigo Duterte here in the philippines, a controversial leader to say the least. Both leaders of countries with human rights abuses. The president making no mention of those publicly in either country. So it is an interesting dynamic. But the president is clearly hoping that Good Chemistry will end up with good policy, right . And the bet he is making that eventually all of this Relationship Building will pay off with good trade deals for the United States. Because he is very focused on that as this trip wraps up. He is hinting at possibly another announcement later on this week when he gets back to washington. He sort of jokes with reporters hey, ill give you little rest, a little bit of a break and then ill make the announcement. Reporters dont get back until wednesday morning. So no rest for weary, frances. But the president clearly hoping to get some movement out of trade after the trip. Traditionally, you might see that announcement coming while he is on foreign soil, given that that was one of the two big elements of the trip heading into this. The president has made the calculation he would prefer to wait until after. But some analysts wonder this trip was heavy on the symbolism, the passagery, the red carpet rollouts. A little light other tonight substance when it comes to something concrete he can point to once he lands. These are obviously not going to slow down for president when le arrives back stateside. Can you break down for whats sort of domestic challenges the president is going to tackle first here . Yeah. Sure. Phil, good to talk to you this morning. The president , first and foremost is tax reform. The president on thursday, according to a source familiar with the planning, is heading to capitol hill to talk with House Republicans about this tax cut plan. He is already, before he lifted off the ground was tweeting about his tax cut plan, trying to whip up support for it, trying the rally republicans around it. So youve got that on the policy side. But lets talk what else is on his plate. You mention this at the top of the show here. Roy moore. This is a huge story back in the United States. It was one the president was asked about on foreign soil. People shouted questions at the president. The white house sort of forced to respond to the roy moore scandal while overseas. Assume once the president gets back, that will be taking up some of his time. And then you the its not policy be, the russia investigation continuing as well and the new revelations about don jr. And wikileaks. Hallie jackson, thank you. As hallie mentioned, a fifth accuser of roy moore is coming forward to claim that the Alabama Republican Senate candidate forced himself on her when she was a teenager and he was 34 years old. Moore denies these allegations. Catie beck has more. Reporter i thought he was going to rape me. Reporter Beverly Young nelson is the fifth woman to accuse alabama Senate Candidate roy moore of improper sexual advances when she was a teenager. I was twisting and i was struggling, and i was begging him to stop. Reporter nelson, then 16 says moore was a regular customer at a restaurant where she worked. She claims moore then District Attorney offered her a ride home. But instead parked the car behind the business and assaulted her. He began squeezing my neck, attempting to force my head on to his crotch. Reporter nelson claims she was left with bruises. But moore and warn herd no one would believe her. Moore has denied all of the accusations, just a he denied the allegations of Sexual Misconduct with a 14yearold girl reported by the Washington Post last week. Theyre completely false and untrue. Reporter he is refusing to drop out, calling the attention a witchhunt, placing blame on the media and establishment republicans, and threatening to sue over the allegations. His democrat opponent doug jones issuing this statement. Roy moore will be held accountable by the people of alabama for his actions. But are these allegations hurting moore, who was leading in the polls with voters . Any chance he loses . No, maam. You think he is going to win no matter what . Yes, i do. Reporter some local analysts say moores popularity and distrust of the media keeps him in the race. Obviously, these charges will hurt roy moore. But they may not hurt him enough to change the election. Reporter as for nelson, she has been inspired by other victims who have come forward and has a message for moore. He no longer has any power over me. And i no longer live in fear of him. Reporter catie beck, nbc news, birmingham, alabama. In the wake of the dozens of high profile sexual allegations that have emerged in recent weeks, this morning members of the house will hold a hearing on how how to prevent harassment in congress. Theyre going to be talking about harassment training in light of whats happened in hollywood, in light of whats now happening in politics with roy moore and these latest allegations from beverly nelson. As you noted, the 50 woman to come forward with allegations in that case. Today lawmakers will be talking about what happens here on capitol hill. Right now harassment training is voluntary. Some like californias Jackie Speier want to change that she has posted a video about her own harassment she says by a staffer who forcibly kissed her while she was working here on capitol hill. She says number one the Training Needs to be mandatory, not only for lawmakers, but also for staff. Shes also pushing for working on a bill that would make it easier to report. Right now people who want to report harassment have to go through months of counseling beforehand. She says that discourages them. Also testifying today, another lawmaker, alabama, republican bradley burn who by the way spent three decades practicing employment law, offering some suggestions at that hearing today. All right, tracie potts for us on capitol hill. Tracie, thank you. Lets get a check of our tuesday weather with nbc meteorologist bill karins. Good morning, bill. Good morning. Still quiet.
