The approach through contra costa and through the maze and caldecott tunnel moving great. We have one minor incident out of antioch. Were told three men now, palo alto pd confirming this, at least three men entered the store wearing hooded sweatshirts at 12 40 and did leave with an unconfirmed amount of prescription drugs. An overnight supervisor who we talked to told today in the bay one of the man was a hispanic man in his 20s who pointed a gun at him and ordered him to the floor. Then he heard a loud bang but he did not know if it was actually gunfire as we reported earlier. The men did get away with drugs but the shift supervisor didnt see exactly what they took. He was keeping his head down at gunpoint. I just heard the noise and i just heard the noise and looked to see what happened and that is when i see i saw the guy and he ran away and pointed to me and said get down on the floor. Reporter you could see there was glass going into the pharmacy, the entry door that was smash out and broken vase on the ground next to it. And this is the very first playoff game at levi stadium but vta expected up to 13,000 people will take light rail to the stadium. If that is your plan leave before the 1 35 kickoff. It is a brazen robbery normally quiet palo alto early this morning several men held up a safeway pharmacy and got away with a lot of prescriptions. Thom jensen joins us live outside of the store where the thieves hit. It was early this morning, thom. Reporter it was. At about 12 40. And we are getting this confirmed by palo alto pd. Theyre confirming there was at least three robbers involved. And that they did get away with an unspecified amount of prescription drugs from this robbery that happened just before 1 00 this morning. Were a short time ago able to talk to a shift supervisor who said one of the man who came in was a hispanic man in his 20s, also wearing a hood, pointed a gun at him and other employees and ordered them to the floor. He said he did not was not able to see exactly what they took. But he did know that there was nobody injured in this in he said he was just keeping his head down at gunpoint. Was it pretty obvious they wanted the drugs right from the start . No. Because i didnt know what they wanted. So i just said to him, hey, calm down. Take whatever you want. Reporter now you could see from the incident when were able to get a camera in there that the pharmacy door was broken. It was not what you would typically think of as a gunshot break. Normally you see a small hole through the door and then it is spiderwebed and pushed through but there was a vase on the floor next to the door, not sure if that was used to throw through the window but palo alto pd confirming that a gun was not fired. That Something Else was used to break this door. Earlier we reported that witnesses said there was gunfire and that nobody was injured but they are confirming our earlier report that theyre looking for a red what is described as a red 2000 chevy pickup truck and you could imagine police up and down the peninsula are looking for that truck this morning. It is 38 in san jose. And 39 in oakland and palo alto. Were see upper 50s today. This is where we should be for early january. Looking at some near normal temperatures but we do have another cold front heading it way. You could see the center of low pressure and the cold front extending ahead of that. And another storm system arriving on monday. Now as this storm comes in overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning, it will continue to weaken and it will bump up against dry air. So by the time it gets here, at 2 30 in the morning, were just seeing scattered light rain and then it will quickly push off to the south. Where well see the sky clearing and it is only going to bring us about a tenth of an inch of rain if that. And then well see some improving weather going throughout the day on saturday. But it will be cool and breezy behind that front. And then well be watching out for the next system coming in early next week. Some upper 50s in the forecast. But it looked like we could have a stronger storm by thursday until the end of next week but overall temperatures remaining seasonable and for San Francisco looking at mid to upper 50s, watching out for the king tide over the next three days that may cause coastal flooding in the usual spots.
