Republican congressman doug collins said those words violated the house rules of decorum. They tried to strike her commentsen fr commentsen from the record and the statements will remain. Yesterdays statements will remain in the history book as its the first rebuke in the hous the president in years. They condemned president trumps tweets about the four women of color collectively known as the quad. The president s tweeted urges the women to go back whether they came from even though all but one was born in the u. S. These comments from the white house are disgraceful and disgusting. The fourpage resolution, quote, strongly condemns president trumps racist comments that have ledge mazed and increased fear of new americans and people of color. At the highest level of government, theres no room for racism. The 242187 vote closely followed party lines with only four republicans and one independent in favor. Afterward the president took to twitter to praise gop members who voted against the measure writing, great to see how unified the Republican Party was on todays vote. It now moves to the senate where no action is expected to be taken. We all know politics is a contact sport, but its about time we lowered the temperature. Earlier tuesday mr. Trump was asked where the squad members should go if they left the u. S. Its up to them. They can go wherever they want or they can stay, but they should love our country. Now the Democratic Leaders can table the articles presented last night, but doing so would put them at risk for criticism from the left ring. Suspects iran seized a missing oil tanker owned by the United Arab Emirates. Iran claims it helped a stranded oil tanker who needed assistance. This happened as a Top Commander for the middle east flew to the region. David martin is the only Network Correspondent traveling with him. Reporter general Frank Mckenzie boarded a plane for the persian gulf just as news was breaking that iran had ceased an oil tanker. The ship is reportedly owned by the United Arab Emirates and was seen being escorted by Iranian Naval vessels. Kelly remains behind bars this morning after pleading not guilty to federal sex crimes in illinois. Yesterday kelly appeared in a Chicago Court wearing shackles and an orange jumpsuit. The judge ordered him without bond. Hes accused of having sex with underaged girls, detaining witnesses and paying for their silence. R. Kelly has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, millions of dollars over the years that he knows nothing about, nothing about. Hes been robbed of everything by his handlers. Kelly still needs to be arraigned for alleged crimes in new york. Those charges include racketeering and kidnapping. Mexican drus lorde guzman will be in new york where the judge is expected to sentence him to life behind bars. Earlier this year jurors convicted him of continuing to operate a criminal enterprise. Prosecutors have asked the judge to sentence the drug lord to life behind bars plus 30 years. Former Supreme Court justice jeanpaul stephens is being mb kindness, and humility. Authorities in louisiana announced an arrest in the death of civil rights activist and africanamerican Museum Founder Sadie Roberts joseph. Joe benedict has the somber details. Reporter the family of Sadie Roberts joined the Baton Rouge Police as they announced the 75yearolds death. We arrested ron jer mail bell. The 38yearold was a tenant in one of ruopp ertzjosephs homes as and was behind on his rent. We believe 1,200 was owed for rent. We still dont have a complete solid motive at this time. Reporter investigators say robertsjoseph died from asphyxia including suffocation not long after she visited her family last week. Her body was found in the trunk of a car about three miles from her home. Concerned citizens called 911. The citizens played a very vital role in this in that there were so many leads, so many people who wanted to help. Robertsjoseph was a civil rights activist. She was described as a matriarch of baton rouge. In 2001 she founded a local baton rouge black history museum. We will see to it that her legacy continues.
