The earthquake has killed at least 245 people so far in central mexico with hundreds still missing and unaccounted for in the capital city and in other cities impacted in central mexico. The search for the people continues this morning with the main to 7. 1 happening tuesday at 1 pm. In the past 36 hours some survivors have been found, and that is giving people renewed hope that the intense search and rescue efforts are paying off. People in mexico have been riveted by the collective efforts of the rescue efforts at the Elementary School in the southern part of the city that collapsed during the earthquake tuesday. Workers say that the body heat equipment has found signs that at least three people are still alive and trapped in the rubble, and that includes a teenage girl that was seen wiggling her fingers to let them know she was still alive. They were still trying to get to her and at least 25 other people, mostly children, did not survive when the building collapsed. More than 40 buildings in mexico city collapsed during the earthquake with hundreds of others severely damaged. Thousands of people are in shelters this morning. The california judge says that the state attorney general description on the repeal of the new gas tax is misleading. The Sacramento Superior Court judge said that the attorney general ballot title focuses on eliminating the road repair funding instead of clearly saying that the bill would repeal the new gas taxes and other fees. In april lawmakers voted to increase the gas taxes and the vehicle fees beginning november 1 in order to raise 5 billion a year further road repairs. The judge will consider the case on friday. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly asked the white house to provide a wide array of documents in the 2016 president ial election and meddling by the russians. Reporter the city says the owners of the properties are noncompliant and this property owned by 529 commercial Street Associates headquartered in the financial district building, and this building in marin county, and this vallejo Street Property owned by the schools of the sacred heart in San Francisco. The next step is the scarlet letters in the form of morning posters to be placed on the front of the buildings, and the notice of violation to be posted on the door warning the tenants that the building is not earthquake safe. The tenants could sue for failure to meet the safety codes. Some could withhold the rent. The owners will be summoned to the directors hearing to explain the noncompliance, and after that the City Attorney can have the building red tagged against occupation and place a lien on the property. With a lien on the property the owner cannot sell or borrow against the building. The ultimate penalty is demolishing the building. That is the consequence for noncompliance.
