Corner of fairgrounds drive and soreno drive and the shooting happened behind me outside of this valaro gas station. Now it is a fluid situation, the police are still on the scene investigating. They are not releasing much information just yet. Let me tell you what we know so far. Now, the shooting was reported just before 5 30 this evening. It involved an off Duty Richmond Police officer and a resident here in vallejo. Again, the police are not really giving us much details about what happened but apparently there was some sort of confrontation. Again, no specifics from the police. There were several shots fired and when the Police Arrived here on the scene they did find a plan who was pronounced dead on the scene. A witness heard the shots. The kids just came back from the store buying ice cream and we heard five or six shots, you know, rapidly. So, the kids just walked into the house. We looked outside and we saw some Police Officers coming. We went outside and then we saw this gentleman laying on the street over there. Reporter this evening there was a vigil that was held by friends and family. A local pastor who told me that the victim did attend his church. Again, the police have not released the name of the victim. Relatives have. We are told his name is eric reason. He was 37 or 38 years old. He had 6 kids from vallejo and he worked in scaffolding. He worked in scaffolding and he enjoyed that. He enjoyed that work. He found purpose in it. When it was done he could look at it and found that he accomplished something. I think that brought him pride. He was able to he felt good enough about it to bring his son into it. Reporter again, the police are not talking right now. We have not gotten details from them. But i am told that confrontation could potentially, again, no confirmation from the police, could have been over a parking space. Again, we will certainly be asking the police about that when they make someone available for us to talk to. Just to wrap things up, a Fatal Shooting here in vallejo, a mile or so from six flags marine world and unfortunately a man shot and killed by an off duty officer from richmond. The chairman of the house intelligence commit seresponding to the list of witnesses that House Republicans we quested for questioning in open impeachment inquiries. It includes hunter biden and the whistleblower who started the inquiry. We have the latest from washington. Republicans identified at least 14 individuals they want to testify during the impeachment inquiries public hearing bus only a handful are expected to be approved by the democrat chairman. Last night he informed the Top Republican nunez that it will not serve as vehicles for any member to carry out the same sham investigations into the bidens or conspiracies about 2016us election that trump pressed ukraine to conduct for his personal benefit. Those who likely will not be called to testify include hunter biden and his business partner, archer, and alexander chalupa, a staff who are allegedly met with ukranian officials for dirt on the trump campaign. Democrats argue that since the impeachment inquiry is about what the president did or did not do with relation of withholding military aid in ukraine. Any witnesses without knowledge of that are a distraction. Republicans requested the i think the chairman is going to make available to testify. Morison is one, kirk is another. We want to stay focused on the ukraine call and having hunter biden come in is unrelated to the ukraine call. So, that becomes irrelevant. The whistle blower has protection. They indicated the whistle blower will not testify. That is a key point of contention for the president and his allies including the senator, lindsay graham, without the system impeachment is dead on arrival in the senate. The only way you can fairly deal with this issue is for us to find out who the whistle blower is. No american can be accused of a crime based on an anonymous allegation, the whistleblower is foundational to what they are doing in the house and the fact they dont want to call him tells you everything they know everything you need to know about how valid this effort is to impeach the president. Not every republican lawmaker feels that way. Several repeated their belief that the identity should be protected and that their testimony was not that important because they did not have firsthand information about the president s phone call. In washington, garret tenney, fox news. Once again, the public hearings in the impeachment inquiry begin oned with. We will have uninterrupted begin on wednesday.
