Its been investigated as an act of domestic terrorism. The Mountain Lion that went after a 6yearold girl in a park has been euthanized right near los altos on wednesday. The state department of fish and wild life says a dna sample matched a sample taken from the girls clothing after the attack. The girls injuries were minor and did not require stitches. What its doing is spitting a few clouds to the north. It doesnt look like were going to get any real rain out of it. Heres whats happening right now. We are beautiful sunshine in the north bay. Beautiful sunshine in the east bay. The peninsula looking good. Also to the south bay. But to the south of that thats where were seeing some of these clouds show up right now. And just to show you that we are staying dry not just today not just tomorrow, take a look at future cast. Were going to go right through friday to saturday and were going to go to sunday. You can see everything stays to the north of us as High Pressure is going to build off the coast. Take you to monday, tuesday, wednesday, even thursday morning folks. No rain. Anything coming our way as you can see is going to go up to places like seattle and point north. That is the down side. We need some rain. Its not in the forecast right now. Its just beautiful. Gorgeous out there. This is the oakland estuary. Look at these numbers already. 70 degrees in novato. 70 degrees at half moon bay. And how about this. 70 in fairfield and look at fremont already at 72 degrees. 69 in berkley. 65 here in oakland. Were going to see some very high temperatures out there. We can see about 76 in santa rosa. 69 in San Francisco. 73 down in san jose. Just peppered with 70s across the map. And it had me thinking could we see any daily records today. Forecasting about 76 today. So i think we could beat that one. Napa, the record is 78. That was in 1985. So that ones going to be a little tougher. Doesnt look like well make it in San Francisco where 1985 was the big warm day for them. And livermore i think we could also make it on that one. Some record heat possible for the daily records. Overnight tonight will be mild. Well have clouds moving in from that system. 49 for the overnight low in San Francisco. 41 in santa rosa and 46 in san jose. No 30s on the map. And as we get into the weekend, well see some clouds saturday morning but then i think well all get some sunshine in. Theyre cooler temperatures. Well watch those temperatures drop from the 70s today, back to the 60s tomorrow dropping about 5 to 7 degrees. Mild temperatures and the extended week unfortunately no rain in sight but we are going to start the week awfully sunny next week. We do have that warm up today, tomorrow were cooling down in the 60s. We stay dry across the weekend and we start the week absolutely gorgeous. A warm up on the way as we head into tuesday. In todays bay area people, we are spending some time with an author, an activist, a mother, a historian, and a fixture at the rosy the riveter museum. Betty reed suskins has been recovering from a stroke, but now shes back at work. I cant believe that ive reached this age. Inside is 19yearold betty. Her steps are measured. Her speech has slowed some. But at 98, this remarkable woman still has much more to give. I havent any idea what it is. I have no idea except that its there. Its something that im to accomplish and i havent done it yet. Nearly 5 months since suffering a stroke last fall, Betty Reid Soskin is back at work. She is the oldest Living National park ranger in the u. S. A career betty started well into her 80s telling her own story of a young black woman growing up in the bay area during world war ii. She now continues to inspire and educate our world one day a week in richmond. In looking back, i realize i was doing it. Bettys life is a story of determination. She was one of six black graduates at Oaklands Castle monte high in 1938. She mierd in the 50s and moved to suburban walnut creek to build her dream home. Death threats followed for years. Betty persevered. She raised four children and along with her husband managed an allblack record store for over seven decades. I dont know when i grew past it except that i realized at one point that i was. That no one could tell me that i wasnt everything that everyone else was. Thats my great grandmother. Betty credits her courage and activism to her 102year old great grandmother born into slavery in 1846. She would have been so pleased with what shes brought and i am so proud of being her granddaughter. This ones nice. Bettys awards and proclamations are many. There have been countless cover shots and feature articles including glamours woman of the year in 2018. But her favorite. [ cheering and applause ]. Despite the current political turmoil in washington, bettys heart is still filled with hope. She believes change comes in cycles. And even at the age of 98, she still has her patience.
