The united states, qatar and egypt were hoping to havec negotiated a cease fire by this date. More than 31,000 people in gaza have been killed since that war began. Five months ago, the President Biden issued a warning to israeli Prime Minister netanyahu cautioning against an attack on the Southern Gaza city of rafah. But to kind of add a component to the work that im doing, which helps folks in gaza, makes the work a little bit easier. And that coffee shop owner says hes just been his customers, his community. He says hes just about sold out of those ramadan coffee boxes in San Francisco, zac sos ktvu, fox two news. Okay, zach, thank you. Time is 434 with last night at the meeting of the city council in redwood city. The Council Voted against adopting a resolution calling for aucease fire in gaza. The motion fails with two votes. Okay. Jessica howard, other people who support the ceasefire resolution reacted angrily. As you hear to that vote. Hundreds of people signed up to speak at that council meeting. I want a cease fire. I think its important that we have a cease fire. Its a humanitarian issue. We need to stop the killing of all these innocent people in gaza. Many also spoke against a cease fire resolution, saying its outside the scope of more bad feelings in the community. We have spent hours preparing for this meeting away families,o persuade you that this resolution is divisive and aggravating to our warm and inclusive community. Our time taking ae of the congressional earmarks contained in the 467 billion spending bill that Congress Passed last week to avert a government shutdown. Now the earmarks are a tradition in congress. Thats when representatives are able to insert special funding for their districts into large spending bills. There were more than 6000 earmarks in the most recent spending bill, accounting for 12. 7 billion, and includes 1 greenhouse in minnesota and 3. 5 million for a new headquarters, where they build floats for detroits thanksgiving day parade. These earmarks are, you know, just spending crack. Mean, its senators had to go to the floor and defend some of these that they knew they might, then i think that they wouldnt even offer them. Republicans take part in sending earmarks, with many lawmakers proud of the money theyre able to bring back to their districts. Our time is 446. He declined to pursue charges against biden for his alleged mishandling of classified documents, citing in part what he described as bidens poor memory. His, you know, position on bidens mental state is going to obviously be front and center. Theres other things, too, but well well sort that out tomorrow in the hearing. Yeah of an irregular heartbeat by 20. Now that irregular heartbeat, known as Atrial Fibrillation, which can lead to other serious heart incidents like stroke. Fox medical teams. Doctor mike joining us now live with more on this new study. Good morning doctor mike. So i think people are probably drinking diet soda thinking its okay. Its probably better for my health than regular soda. But what are we learning . Well, so this study is one of the first studies looking at the use of not only artificially flavored drinks, but even sugar laden drinks. That increased the risk by about 10. And so they looked at that and they looked at at fruit juice. They also looked at artificially flavored, drinks. Now, the thing is, maam, this was not a cause and effect study, but it does bring up the issue of, look, if youre going to drink over two liters of any of these kinds of beverages per week, its probably negative effects on your health. And what i tell my patients is, look, i dont want to. What i want to do is try to be smart about it and everything in moderation. Now, Atrial Fibrillation is where the top part of your heart does not contract properly. Its like a bag of worms. And if that goes on and you dont notice it, or you dont feel it, you can end up with a stroke. A clot can form and you can end up with a stroke. Thats why its a very serious situation, the bottom line here is that with my kids, ever since they were born, i have tried to get them to drink things that are naturally flavored. No artificial stuff, no sugary, no sugar added carbonated water. And you develop a taste for that. And so if you do that, youre going to limit the amount of, of these things getting into your body. And whether it definitely leads to afib or not, i think its overall a healthy option for you. So what is the specific link between the diet soda, the sugary drinks, and the afib and the heart incidents . Well, thats the Million Dollar question. Some people think maybe its a change in blood pressure, this is why we need more study on this. But i can tell you that if you drink a lot of sugar laden products or even, theres, theres studies looking at artificially flavored drinks, it canc lead to an increase in weight. Now, if you have obesity, if you have sleep apnea, you have an increased risk of developing Atrial Fibrillation. The same thing with an abnormal heart, certainly based on this, even though its not a cause and effect study, if you have a history of afib, you might want to go to the more Natural Products and avoid things that are heavily sugar laden or artificially sweetened on, on this preliminary data. But again, everything in moderation. All right. Treat it like a treat, not a daily habit. I guess, of what it sounds like. Doctor mike, thank you so much for that information. As usual. Thank you. Thank you pam, great to be here. Time now 525. A family pleading for justice after their loved one was killed in a hit and run in the east bay. Well ll you why they worry. However, the wind is going to pick up as that system right there begins to dig and backtracks part of it, the upper level low into southern california. This is something we see usually in midmarch, but it looks like a north northeast breeze. Thankfully, the hills are green. Weve had rain, so fire danger is not a concern. But gusts 40 to 50mph, mainly in the north and east bay hills. Temps will bump up some morning rain drizzle, then a break. Cloudy to mostly cloudy in the morning. Some sun breaks later. 5060 on the temps after today though, more sunshine and warmer temps but it will be breezy to windy. All right. Thank you for the warning steve. The program is similarc to a normal library. A seed Library Collects and stores seeds and shares them with members of the community for free. Gardeners borrow seeds from the seed and at the end of the growing seasons, they save the new seeds from the plants and return a portion of the seeds to the library. Patrons can take whatever seeds that they would want to grow, and once they harvest it, they just bring their seeds from their harvest back. The Seed Lending Library is very much in tune with the librarys mission, which is to help people to grow and to learn, find new hobbies, just discover new things about themselves. Well Library Staff hopes the seed collection will generate more interest in learning about nature, biology, urban gardening, and even healty members are already donating seeds from their Community Plots or personal gardens. Just seems to be that typical, slowdown a lot of cars on the highways this morning. So keep e direction you need to head today. How about, antioch headed to pittsburgh, headed into places like concord and martinez along highway four that has a little bit of a backup headed westbound. So keep that in mind, too. If you need to get on to 680. And then if youre headed, kind of toward that san rafael from San Francisco, trying toen get into, thats got some slowdowns as well. And even going emeryville, remember, the roads are kind of slick. Theyre kind of wet. We did have that rainfall early this morning, and that has caused us, not really too many problems, but now were starting to get caught up with some of those problems this morning because those a lot longer thane rainfall, actually does. 639 this morning. Talk to us more about that rainfall. Steve paulson, youre the expert on it. You dont really want to hear it from me, do they . T hear from you on those wet roads out there. Theyre. Thank you. Also, some reports up towards the Russian River of some pretty impressiveurain totals. Most locations, though, are like. Mount veeder 42 100 kentfield a third. Napa has had a quarterl santa rosa airport a quarter. Half moon bay. 21. San rafael 15 100 San Francisco, now at 13, in oakland with. 09. I think san jose is at 0. 08. So the system is moving through. Thisuis the last in the current series, okay, because the pattern is going to change. What will return to rain sure looks like it around the 21st 22nd, but well get some warmer temps after this system slides through. And it does look like theres a back edge up towards Sonoma County and Mendocino County and lake county still some snowuup in the mountains. Thatll continue. Another one to maybe four inches of snow. 30s up there. Truckee South Lake Tahoe, 50s on a lot of the temps. 40s, 51 is popular. My goodness. Fremont, san jose, Mountain View, menlo park and there sfo, brentwood and there petaluma, santa rosa. After today, though, its a break sevens probably more like it. S. But fly in the ointment, isnt there always in weather for us here, this system goes through, but then a low is going to form in arizona and backtrack towards southern california. This is a pattern ws are greenn weve had rain, so not a high fire concern, but the northeast wind will kick in. Maybe gusts 40 to 50mph. The good news, though, is if youre looking for sunshine and warmer temps, that will be a given. Today though, morning rainc givs way to some sun breaks later. 5060s on the temps and tomorrow well start to clear it out. If not by tonight and then warmer temps, but windy especially thursday. But yes, it will be sunny. Yes, it will be warmer, but it could be downright windy by the time we get to thursday and friday. This is a pattern we usually see in september october. Thankfully the hills are green. Weve had rain, so fire concerns are minimal. But anytime you get a north northeast breeze, its always something to be cognizant of. But this will be mainly north and east bay hills, but there will be some pretty good here. Ive seen some low to mid 70s by thursday and friday morning. Rain drizzle. Cloudy to mostly cloudy.
