The New European has been bought by a consortium including a former
Financial Times editor and ex-BBC chief as part of a bid to ensure the title's long-term survival.
The paper - which was launched in 2016 to oppose the Brexit vote - was taken over in a management buyout with support from ex-
FT chief Lionel Barber and Mark Thompson, who stepped down as chief executive of The New York Times Company last July and was previously BBC director-general.
