Out Lexington Way: Thankful for the coming New Year

Happy New Year!
Well, we certainly won’t forget 2020 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with heavy rain on top of two feet of snow. Very difficult time with flooding, evacuations, concerns for everyone’s safety, all the firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, highway crews working around the clock to help. As bad as this was, it wasn’t the same level as Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. We can be thankful for that.
There are numerous road closures here on the Mountain Top. Just three of them listed here — Route 42 in West Kill is closed from Haines Lane to Howard Road. We will have to use Beech Ridge Road as a detour. Section of County Route 17 is also closed and Route 214. Please be careful.
