Sunday Links: Robbery Suspect Captured After Avoiding Arrest... by Diving into the Bay
An Oakland man suspected a series of armed robberies dove into San Francisco Bay while trying to escape authorities during a chase. The high-speed chase ended in flailing fashion after Webster Johnson, the assumed suspect in a string of local robberies abandoned his vehicle near I-80 and Ashby Avenue in Berkeley last week and jumped into the Bay before surrendering. Johnson is facing multiple charges including "attempted murder, accessory, robbery, felony evading, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and assault with a deadly weapon." [KPIX]
