Someone throwing stones at me. Muslims across europe are worried about a possible backlash. This is Aljazeera America live from new york city. We begin this hour in france, where a three day terror spree ended with two separate incidents in the paris area. The end came when French Security forces stormed separate hostage situations. One was in a warehouse near Charles De Gaulle airport. Two brothers accused of killing 12 people in the attack on Charlie Hebdo newspaper were killed. In a market, a man took several hostages and killed several. That when police stormed in, five were dead. The hostage taker was among those deceased. Police are are now searching for another suspect in that attack. Investigators are still trying to piece everything together. Lawrence lee he has more on the end of the manhunt for the Charlie Hebdo suspects. When it ended, it was quick and much earlier than many expected. Flashes, the sound of automatic gunfire and then silence. In all, the end that the standoff lasted no more than 15 or 20 seconds but left dead the brothers the authorities accused of the Charlie Hebdo massacre. That the standoff lasted the whole day. During rush hour in the morning we had seen lines of police vans tearing up the motor way north of paris and into the small town of dammartinengaulle. The helicopter am ambulance flew through the murk. The gunman hat shot someone dead during a police chase. What was clear was that the suspect in the Charlie Hebdo massacre were holed up inside an Industrial Complex along with a hostage. We drove through dammartin with the police, part shuttered homes and businesses, just the occasional person outside in a community under lockdown. Lines of buses could be seen waiting to take children away from an evacuated school. Had the gunmen taken children hostage, it would have been an absolute nightmare for the authorities, one they had to avoid at any cost. I hope the children are not shocked or anything else, because were really anxious as parents. There were a lot of police and they told me that i need to go home immediately and i needed to stay indoors. Day turned to dusk. It was assumed the building might be stormed in the darkness but the gunman had nowhere left to run. Special forces go ahead be seen on the roof. That this was the end game. The kouachi brothers managed to evade the law for a full two days. It took hundreds of soldiers and officers cornering them in here before they could bring it to a conclusion. In an ideal world police would have wanted to take them alive rather than dead, but given how dangerous they were, the authorities will probably see this as pretty much as good an outcome as they could ever expected. Police could be seen walking at ease inside the perimeter within minutes of it ending with that there were no casualties other than the dead gunmen. As the police left, you could hear cheering. It wasnt from them. It was from the people of the town. Lawrence lee, al jazeera dammartin. Dana lewis joins us from dammartin, the town where all this went down. He was there when the confrontation ended. I understand there are no details now from this incident from the prosecutor in paris. What are the headlines . Were beginning david to get some new details a very windy night here, by the way so forgive the wind noise. The prosecutor in paris has released some details about what happened today. President hollande is holding a news conference. One of the kouachi brothers was wounded when he got here, wounded in the neck, he was killed later in the shot youth but he came here wounded. We nope the kouachi brothers had disappeared for 48 hours or so after the shooting at the newspaper on wednesday. Aside from a robbery at the gas station, they were spotted on the highway headed towards paris. There was a shootout at a police barricade, i believe and that is where perhaps one of the kouachi brothers was then wounded in the neck. In the case of the Kosher Grocery store the prosecutor is saying that when Amedy Coulibaly entered, that is when the four victims were killed. He opened fire and four were killed then. 15 people were later reds. The police are saying none of the hostages died when they stormed that Grocery Store today, so thats all new david and that has just come out from the prosecutor. The Prime Minister, by the way also speaking somewhere tonight and he is saying yes indeed, we had intelligence failures, perhaps stating the obvious but it is really the first time the government has started to talk about this, intelligence failures and they really have to go and review now what happened. Dana, you were there in dammartin today when police ended the confrontation a sleepy town northeast of paris. What did it feel and sound like earlier today . It was in such sharp contrast with this very cleany, quiet town under siege when we got here. Streets were empty people pulled their shutters. Everybody was inside. They werent allowed in the street. We got here, one of the first in here in a police escort. There were very few journal inches allowed in in the first couple of hours of it. The schools were locked down, the high school next to us. You could see some kids peeking out, but they were told stay down and dont even look out the window. There were mattresses placed on School Windows because they were worried there could be stray gunfire. We were told police negotiations were underway and in that conversation, one of them said that he wanted to die as a matter and in the end, of course we then late in the afternoon heard just a lot of gunfire, a very short, i would say, but a lot of gunfire and then several explosions. I heard two of them that i could count, and it sounded to me like entry explosions, like the police were perhaps blowing something on the exterior of the building to get in and soon we heard from eyewitnesses that the Police Rushed that building in big numbers. There were commandos on the roof and the kouachi brothers had been killed and one hostage had been freed. Dana, thank you so much. We appreciate it. Lets bring in a Counter Terrorism and intelligence consultant malcolm youve trained swat teams for these very situations. In want to get your reaction to the news that there were police negotiations, one of the hostage takers wanted to die as a martyr. There was gunfire a series of explosions. What do you make of how this one went down today . Well in the situation in dammartin, it went down exactly as the kouachi brothers wanted it. Pretty obvious that one of them was wounded and in their negotiations with the g. I. G. N. That they would come out in a blaze of glory. I was watching the initial raid on t. V. France and it was clear that the initial gunfire came from the shooters with the kalashnikovs. There was no way the French National police could ever taken them alive. They wanted to die in this. Yeah, and when youre talking about this type of extremists that would carry out a high profile attack like this, it was very surprising that this didnt occur on the first day in paris with a suicide attack. It was confusing that initially they wanted to carry out this great act of sacrifice and then actually went off rearmed regrouped and then got caught in this warehouse which is not ideal for them. They are not going to end up as the matters they wanted to be, but it did precipitate the second hostage situation, which was a little more serious. In that second hostage situation, where we now now that a gunman goes inside, kills four people has 15 other people hostages held as hostages, lets them go and then we see the video of police storming in, what are the separate challenges that were facing the swat teams in this particular incident . Well, the second hostage situation is what we call a suicide hostage barricade and we had feared this on the first day, that the shooters would leave the Charlie Hebdo offices and then go down into some major thoroughfare in paris stop and then carry out a massacre with all the ammunition they had. This shooter decided in coordination with the two brothers to go to a high profile kosher place which is interesting, because that market is also used extensively by the Muslim Community because it is kosher and would carry out this hostage barricade get as much media as possible, hold out as long as possible. French authorities realized if the kouachi brothers were going to come out fighting, that this shooter would probably start killing hostages, so they did a dynamic breach. It was an excellent breach, an explosive breach of the doors and they went right in and neutralized the problem. The only criticism that ive heard over the last couple of days of french authorities is the initial response to the attack on Charlie Hebdo that it seemed like that went on for 10 or 15 minutes before the kouachi brothers left, and that that should have been enough time for some french authorities to get to that scene. Is that a fair criticism . Well, i dont think that thats a fair criticism because where the Charlie Hebdo offices are was on the Southeast Side of the city along the periphery in a section thats not where you have thousands of police. You had an armed officer out there who was executed, an armed officer in the offices but no one was planning on a three man commando raid with fully automatic weapons quite possibly explosives, who coordinated this attack. Where the failure occurred was in the intelligence leading up to inc. That how did automatic weapons get into france at this capacity. How would these known men not have intelligence and how would they have been able to pass intelligence on. The Muslim Community in france is incensed right now but thats where the true failure went down. After that, it was Counter Terrorism, them chasing the terrorists down in my the inevitable end. Malcolm thanks so much for being on with us tonight. We appreciate it. Its my pleasure, david. New details are emerging about the gunman at the center of the manhunt in paris in france. Roxanne in a has that part of the story now. Law enforcement knew the two brothers accused of attacking Charlie Hebdo the u. S. Knew about them, too, one of the featured in a french documentary. These are the faces weve seen so much of over the past days brothers said and Cherif Kouachi. Cherif the youngest was 32 years old. This was him in a french 2005 documentary. He was a rapper with a criminal record for selling drugs and theft. He fell under the influence of a radical imam and dreamed of becoming a martyr. When the documentary aired, he was in prison. Cherif had been stopped follow leavinging france for syria. His attorney said his client wasnt totally sold on the cause. I met him leaving custody. The first words he said to me was that he was relieved to have been arrested, because he was petrified with the fear at the idea of going to syria. In 2008, he was sentenced to three years in prison, but quickly released since hed spent the previous years behind bars. He was arrested again in 2010. Police learned hed been browsing jihadist website but the cases were dropped because of a lack of evidence. That now to his older brother said kouachi who was 34. He reportedly set police on their trail by leaving his Identity Card in the vehicle. French authorities knew who the brothers were and had them under surveillance at one point. During the stand your today cherif spoke to phone to a french t. V. Network saying he and his brother were sent by yemens alqaeda. He said we defend the prophet kill people who insult him we do not kill women. We are not like you, you are the ones killing women and children in iraq and afghanistan. He said you killed 12 people. Cherif said yes we south revenge. The gunman at the supermarket has been i had dentified at Amedy Coulibaly he is to have links to the two brothers. One of the Charlie Hebdo suspects may have been trained by alqaeda. According to an official in yemen, the official said the kouachis spent time at one of the groups camps in that country. We have the story. A senior yemeni Intelligence Officer has said that kouachi joined the ranks of alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and even fought with them, at some stage deported outside of the country. That official did say that his officers are trying to gather more information to reveal to the republic, however the alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula did claim on a number of occasions other attacks in 2009 and 2010. As for this attack that took place in paris theres no claim have responsibility yet. Earlier we spoke to a former c. I. A. Counter terrorism analyst and asked him about this reaction upon hearing that kouachi had a connection to alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. The fact that you had one individual who had been trained by alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula suggest that is they had long standing ties and this happened in 2011, by the way longstanding ties to one of the best most lethal terrorist organizations on the planet. They tried to blow up a plane on christmas day. In fact, i was actually on a plane that day, as well, and then they tried to with the underwear bomber and they tried to down unsuccessfully a couple of airliners in the subsequent years. The fact that you have one person actually trained perhaps others who knows is a frightening development. Is it also, though, a development that as you cans that the tactics of alqaeda in the Arabian Peninsula are changing that theyre now in fact going after what we would call soft targets instead of going after infrastructure and airliners, they are going after markets and magazines. How frightening is that sort of change in their tactics . Well, its actually an interesting thing. Thats the real question. Now there have been unconfirmed reports that aqap declared that they had carried out this attack. Remember that inspire which is their english language magazine talked about still downing planes because thats a spectacular that he can alqaeda is known for. The fact that they want to wage this war of the flee, where they shoot at soft targets and markets and areas Media Outlets suggest that this is not a directed plot by the top folks at a. Q. A. P. In this and i goal age the hostage seen in paris was captured by several nearby residents and many of those are on social media with that we have more. Lets start with this video posted by a resident in eastern paris. Watch. [ gunfire ] the person filming the video is in the Apartment Building on top of the kosher market where the hostages were being head. She filmed the sound of what appears to have been gunfire down below. You also here someone crying in the background and reaction to the sirens and all the activity outside. A little further away from the scene, but also in that same neighborhood lines of Police Vehicles driving down the street as reporters and residents looked on, and overin dammartin, this video was posted by a resident who says he works about 50 meters from where the hostage incident took place an officer is seen here descending close to the operation. The person who shot the video said the area felt like a war zone completely surrounded by police and helicopters french people are thanking the officers and government officials who helped end the stondoffs. They are being called heroes. David. We appreciate keeping track of the amazing stuff coming on social media. Well have more ahead on todays events in france and go back to paris for a live jump date. Muslims across europe are worried about becoming the victims of revenge attacks. Well turn to the u. S. Economy. There was a good jobs report today from the government, unemployment is at its lowest level in years. Will the socalled trickle down effect benefit working americans. Americas job market ended 2014 on a high noted the december jobs report out today shows job growth in the United States remained solid the Unemployment Rate at its low effort point since 2008. Ali velshi has the details. Whats the story behind the numbers . Theres a few stories, one is that 252,000 net new jobs, is a good number. Hitting 200 or 250 on a monthly basis is great, 2. 95 million for the year makes it the best year of job creation since 1999. Again, fantastic. Heres the problem david. As you and i both know it, youve got a hot stock market, housing prices up, Interest Rates low the Unemployment Rate dropping to 5. 6 , but wages have barely budged. Wages on a year to year basis are up 1. 7 . Inflations 1. 3 . If youve got kids in school, elderly parent, Health Care Issues all those have an inflation rate higher than the average. Getting a 1. 7 increase in your wage youre not making money. How is it you have the economy firing on so may be as i will i understanders across the board but working folks are not making much more money than a year ago theyre actually still making less than in 2008. Theyre in lice the conundrum of american prosperity, and this recovery. Rewarding that con none drum, ali, what are the factors that businesses need to see in order to boost wages for their workers . They say they he need growth and demand. Weve got growth and demand. They stay they need to see stability in the economy. Weve got stability in the economy. Weve got a problem where we just dont see shared prosperity the same way. Were pfeiffer indicating as a society. Corporate earnings are remarkable. People are invertigo and going to other countries to not pay as much tax so they can make more and more billions of dollars and the workers not feeling it. This almost movers itself into a political discussion about we just are in a world where the 1 get substantially richer, the top 5 get richer, the to that 20 do phenomenally well, the words among us do ok from the government programs, everybody in the middle from the bottom 20 to the top 20 are stagnating. That has to play out in politics. Thats a policy question more than an economic question. Music to my ears. What else is on the show tonight . We heard from the petitionaries Public Prosecutor who talked about how that situation came to an end. The two brothers did not respond to negotiators so just before 5 00, the ground floor door opened 15 center meters for a few minutes. After that, the brothers started firing automatic hand rifles at police. They returned fire, aiming at the two terrorists. Some officers were shiitely hurt. The two terrorists were therefore killed. Dana lewis joins us live from dammartin where the suspects were killed. Just Walking Around here, i think that today, it was hard to talk to people, they were locked down in their homes told not to come put. I talked to one man directly across from the printing shop where the hostage taking began and of course where it ended as the prosecutor just described with a lot of gunfire and explosion peps he said his house was just rattled. That i asked him are you disappointed that these guys escaped the French Intelligence Services that they are werent watching them at the time. He said we understand that theres simply too many of these people to watch. Out on the streets, we were able to talk to more people in the town. That they appeared to be shell shocked about what happened. The french town of dammartin was under siege today. Mid morning Police Helicopters hovered loafer head. Residents were told dont come outside, dont dare. In the center of town, more than 1,000 children locked down in two schools were told to stay away from the windows and emerged nine hours later when the shooting stopped. The police shielded off these schools the moment the hostage taking began placed policeman around them and put carpets in the windows so the children wouldnt come to harm. They left schools late afternoon, taken to a local gymnasium to be reunited with their families. Tonight families timidly returned to the town center. Little tan thought it was fun. They were locked in a school room singing songs and eating cookies. His father said we were scared, we werent expecting in a small town paris yes but not here. Police did what they had to. They gathered to hear the news. A woman taken hostage here by said and Cherif Kouachi were saved. Across from where the gunman were killed, a man said who knew it would end in bloodshed. I asked him were you angry that police put surveillance on them at different times but let them go . Yes, but police have a lot of people we know that can do this. The fear in france, there are many more extremists, some say 6,000 suspects. Local mayor bernard core kneel. I think what happened to the assault on Charlie Hebdo for our country is our september 11. Whats going to happen next . How are we going to react collectively he asked adding after these events, nothing will be the same. One of the other interesting details that has come out tonight Prime Minister the prosecutor is the fact that he is saying one of the kouachi brothers was actually wounded in the neck, in the throat, to be precise before he was shot and killed later on by police. In that shootout on the road on the way here this morning with police and the kouachi brothers said one of them was wounded and later killed when police stormed that building. That. Dana lewis with terrific reporting from dammartin, thank you very much. The leader of hezbollah a group the United States describes as a terrorist group condemned violence in the name of islam saying some muslims do more harm to their faith than any cartoon ever could. Their actions words were shameful heinous violent, ine human practices that offend the religion of god the prophets and book of god more than depicting the prophet or making films depicting the prophet or making cartoons depicting the prophet. He did not specifically refer to the killings in france but condemned killings and executions carried out in isil in syria and iraq. Muslims across europe are showing support for those killed in france. The victims were remembered during friday prayers in mosques in germany and elsewhere. A service in per lynn also included an urgent call for unity. This mosque in berlin is one of many across germany where people coming for friday prayers have heard sermons directly addressing what happened in france. The imam has said that kind of violence that no basis in the holy koran or the teachings of the prophet mohammed. That message was something germanys Justice Minister was keen to emphasize when he visited this mosque just before friday prayers. People are trying to instrumentallize what happened in paris. We cannot let that happen. A key part is the Community Work done by this mosque. Talking to the worshipers here its clear that they feel no connection to the people that carried out the paris attacks but they do actually ever their own personal fears about what could happen next in germany. I think there will be revenge attacks and society will be divided. Religions will be split and people will be split. Since yesterday when ive been getting into the car with my child ive been looking around to check if someones throwing a stone at me because im a foreigner. A survey thats just come out here but carried out in november suggests 61 of nonmuslim germans are fearful of islam. Clearly there are still tensions in this country and elsewhere in europe but those tensions are something that the government here and muslim organizations are trying hard to diffuse. Here in the United States,al masri was sentenced to life in prison. Having one eye and missing a hand, he was convicted of helping kidnappers in yemen. A great deal of the sentencing procedure dealt with where he should be imprisoned, not lounge his sentence should be. He spoke to the judge and described the conditions of his detention so far as torture. Because of his double amputation, his forearms are both missing he says hes not getting the rance he needs to perform basic life tasks like cutting his toe nails. His lawyers argued he should serve his sentence in a medical facility to honor is extradition agreement with the United Kingdom that took eight years to work out. Hes going to spend the rest of his life in jail, and its important to have at least humane treatment in jail, and because of the circumstances its important for him to have the accommodations necessary to live otherwise hes going to get sick, infected and hes going to die very soon, and i think our country is better than that to treat people who are incarcerated that way. The judge declined to weigh in on where he should serve out his sentence. She left that to the federal bureau of prisons to decide. She did say that he had shown know remorse for his crimes, which resulted in the deaths of some four people in yemen back in 1998. She also said she feared that if he were to be freed at some point in the future, he would once again return to advocating violence so she sentenced him to life behind bars. In washington d. C. On capitol hill, the u. S. House and 114th congress, the end of their first week voted today to approve construction of the key stone xl oil pipeline. The vote comes despite a threatened veto from president obama. Hours after member number removed one of the key hurdles of the project. The senate still has to vote next week. It doesnt appear either chamber will get enough votes to override a promised president ial veto. Whats been the reaction today . The white house is not changing its stance, despite house passage. A spokesman for the president saying that this flies in the face of the decisionmaking process thats already in place as well as the president s own authority. Now, the one hurdle, though, that a lot of people were pointing to was this Nebraska Court decision. With that out of the way some members of congress say the white house should not delay. H. R. 3 a bill to improve the key stone x. L. Pipeline. The house wrapped up its first week of the new congress by approving the pipeline. Both the fight and outcome were a familiar one. Mr. Speaker its time to Start Building this key stone pipeline. Approving and constructing this pipeline wont lower are gas prize for americans. In some areas, i did may raise prices. That this pipeline is a terrible deal for the United States. We get all the risks while the Oil Companies reap all the rewards. Its the 10th time the republican led house agreed to green light key stone construction, but have wind at their backs because the republican led senate advanced a bill thursday paving the wear for a vote next week. With six democrats onboard republicans expect to win. No more excuses. It is time that we pass it. All this, despite a guaranteed veto by president obama. The white house has said the approval process should play out, and not be fasttracked by congress and that process took a leap forward friday just hours before the house vote. Nebraskas Supreme Court cleared the way for the pipelines route, rejecting the arguments of land owners against the project. News came out this morning that yet another obstacle, after more than six years of obstacles has today been taken care of. That problem solved. Obama Administration Officials say the review could still take months, and the president plan to say wait for that to make a final decision. More than two dozen democrats joined with republicans in the house for passage today. Right now gop leaders are looking around to see if there is any way they can get the two thirds vote needed to override a president ial veto. Its not looking good for them now, but that is not stopping the game of politics over this issue from continuing. David. Libby casey live from capitol hill, thank you very much. In a preview of crucial arguments headed to the Supreme Court, lawyers for three states made their case against gay marriage. Rivers of louisiana texas and mississippi appeared before a federal court in new orleans opinion the Louisiana Attorney said samesex marriage is too new, and that states should be allowed to protect their citizens. The Supreme Court is expected to review these same issues later this year. One witness said there were too many bodies to count. Coming up, boko haram launched another attack on civilians and the Nigerian Government is trying to hit back. Nigerian military forces are exchanging fire with members of the boko haram in the countries northeast. Boko haram fighters reportedly seized 16 towns earlier this week burning them to the ground. They killed at least 100 people, although there are multiple reports that that number might be much higher. Thousands of respondents tried to flee their homes many of them died in the process. Since boko haram now controls the area, its not possible to as the full damage. The government is using airstrikes to try and hit back at boko haram. Joins us for more is ambassador robin sanders. These reports say it could be that thousands were killed. Whats the likelihood that thats the depth of this massacre. I think that its probably going to be quite high. I dont know if it will be in the thousands but it certainly will be several hundred people. There were several towns hit baga1 town that was supposed to be an area for nigerian and chadian forces to Work Together. People have been fleeing since tuesday and wednesday from the region. That. That town, apparently the population was 10,000 and now reports there say theres nothing left. That there are a lot of an he can coatal reports of boko haram fighters going house to house lining up people for executions, chasing other people into a lake where many of them drowned. How difficult is it for Nigerian Forces to try to head back and save some of these people in this part of nigeria . The challenges, weve talked about a number of times they still remain the same. I think that its logistical as well as tactical and strategical. Boko haram has stepped up more this last week. One of the things about the people reportedly have gone into lake chad. That is also worrisome because what you ever here is an area that nigeria along with its neighbors are going to have to Work Together to control. Right now you only have Nigerian Forces in the area, but you are going to need cameroon and niger to help or else this is going to continue. What is the Nigerian Government saying when they say they are using airstrikes to hit back, is that credible and what would that do . Well, i mean, it depends. If they have enough information to be able to target where the boko haram forces are are retreating to, then maybe airstrikes will be useful. Right now its a ground game primarily an boko haram is really citing up its strategic outreach on the ground and being effective. Unfortunately, unless there are additional troops and logistical support, its going to be hard to dial that back. Ground cover alone is not going to be able to roll this onslaught back. If there are hundreds or maybe thousands of people trying to escape who are in or trying to cross lake chad or stuck in nearby areas is there anything that the United States or European Forces could do to try and help rescue them in terms of something similar to what u. S. Forces did with the yazidi in the middle east against isil just months ago. We need to find out the numbers. The numbers of people that are trapped by the lake are still in the hundreds, but they have possibly a way to get out providing theres a retreat from boko haram. Its possible that the airstrikes could force boko haram to retreat and then you would ever an opportunity for some of those people to get out. That what the u. S. Can do and is trying to do is work with the nigerians on their strategical and tactical operations. That is the most important thing to gain background that boko haram has taken over. Youve got 1. 6 or so internally displaced people already. That number is increasing day after day and its a really difficult situation not only militarily, but certainly from a human rights and humanitarian perspective as those i. D. P. s try to find safe haven particularly the women and dish. How much of boko harams actions last week are tied in with nigerians president Goodluck Jonathan beginning his Reelection Campaign . Theyre definitely taking advantage that the Political Leadership, both the oh that significance as well as the Political Leadership are both focused on the election, so are able to take advantage of that divided attention. Certainly the situation in the north is going to be an issue for the election, its going to be an issue from security and an issue whether or not those people that have been displaced will be able to be will be able to vote. Will they be did he say enfranchised. Will the Election Commission find an alternative way for them to vote. I adjusted returned from two weeks on the ground in nigeria and that was one of the biggest issues there how will the Electoral Commission help the i. D. P. S moved from their communities to get their voter cards to be able to vote. Its a real challenge. Former ambassador to nigeria thanks for being with us tonight. Thank you. We want to take you back to two hostage situations in France Associated with suspects and people supporting the suspects of the Charlie Hebdo shooting. There was the incident at an Industrial Printing shop in a small town north and east of paris, and the two hostage takers there were killed. Then there was at the same time a separate incident in the eastern part of paris and a kosher market, in which hostage taker went in within killed four people. When the police finally went in, they stormed the building and there you can see it there. They found that the hostage taker had killed the four people the host acknowledge taker was killed. There are suspicions and allegations that there may have been a second suspect involved in the second incident at the kosher market and that a search is underway. We want to go to tim trend live from paris. Tim, what do we know at this point before the search for a woman who was supposedly involved in this incident . Well, police desperately want to track down hayet boumdd. Ene partner of coulibaly who was in the supermarket. She is married to him in a religious ceremony, although not legally recognized to be married to him in france. She would ever had to have a civil ceremony. The police want to speak to her for obvious reasons. She has intelligence that they desperately need, because whats emerging from all this is that all these attacks across paris are interconnected and the men go back to stretch from the middle east to jails in france, where some of them have done time and they spread over many years. So high yet buomddiene is wanted. The risk of further attack is still very present. On that point quickly here, are there fears that hayet buomddiene herself could be armed and dangerous . That remains a possibility because she clearly had close associations with these gunmen. They all knew of each other and were speaking frequently in the days up to these attacks so she is either simply trying to lie low and evade detention arrest, or she may decide that shes going to perhaps act in a way that her colleagues did and go out in a blaze of deadly, deadly fire. Tim friend, reporting from paris on the latest search for somebody Police Believe was connected to the three hostage takers who were killed earlier today. Tim, thank you for that, we appreciate it. Today marks the one year affords of a Chemical Spill that left people in West Virginia without water for several days. We have part two of a look back at charleston, West Virginia. When the Chemical Spill happened one year ago lawmakers were in session so experienced the inconvenience and frustration like so many others did here. That led them to pass quick legislation aimed at preventing another spill in the future, but already theres concern that it goes too far. The massive storage tanks along the river have come down and the sweet chemical odor in the air and water is gone. Its been one year since 10,000gallons of a chemical used to clean coal leaked here, tainting the Drinking Water for 300,000 West Virginiaens. It was a very personally ground shaking incident to happen. It had not been inspected in more than 10 years. Above ground storage tanks were not regulated. There wasnt a particular focus on those kinds of facilities because they werent considered highly hazardous. The state quickly approved the above ground storage tank act, requiring nearly every tank in West Virginia to be registered and inspected yearly with greater focus on tanks near water supplies. Weve had 50,000 tanks registered with us as a result of this legislation. The new law is under attack. Some businesses say it overregulates, because some tanks storing water or milk are subject to the same scrutiny as hazardous chemicals. The West Virginia Manufacturers Association wants some companies exempt. It is essential to protect Drinking Water supplies, but makes sense to narrow the focus to prevent an incident that could impact Drinking Water supplies. My whole familys from this valley. Its turned into a classic case of businesses fighting government regulation, arguing the rules cost too much. Nobody wants to place undo burden is on industry, however there are a lot of Small Businesses in the district that i represent that were adversely affected by the Chemical Spill january 9. All of these exceptions and lieu holes thats what got us into this in the first place so i think that the law being agencies for these industries, coal fracking chemicals all of them together are going to push as hard as they can and cite the significant financial burden it would be. For some lawmakers it comes down to finding a balance between satisfying industries vital to West Virginias economy and residents whose trust in the water and state leaders remains broken one year later. One positive thing that some people will tell you that come out of this Chemical Spill is more people here in the charleston area in West Virginia are more active, more engaged and really wanting to know more about the politics specifically of some of the environmental issues. Thats our show. Real money with ali velshi starts right now. Every time with he hear about attacks like the one in paris spending on security in america goes up, but maybe it doesnt have to.
