But listen, this week, i have actually been out and about meeting real people and wearing proper trousers. These people are going to do something incredible. They are trying to make the fastest sailing boat that they can, to compete in one of the toughest ocean races that there is. And for one day only, they let me in to see how theyre doing it. The americas cup is like the formula 1 of boat racing. Fast, ultra competitive, with all of the power coming from the wind. And the boats dont so much sail as fly. Relatively small foils underneath the vessels act like wings that help to lift the entire hull out of the water and massively reduce drag. I learned to sail, god, you know, 35 years ago or something. I take myself back to that eight year old kid thinking about the boats that we are sailing in now, doing speeds over 50 knots, 65 miles an hour. I just think that is absolutely nuts. Here in portsmouth, 0lympic champion sir ben ainslies team is designing one of the five boats that will race next march. Now the americas cup has a weird rule and that is that whoever wins the event gets to decide all of the rules for the next one. Now, i am notjust talking about the location and the date, or even how many heats there are they get to dictate the type of boat that is used and the number of sailors you can have on board. So basically, every americas cup requires teams to design a new boat from scratch. In this case, the previous winners, 0racle new zealand, have chosen, guess where, new zealand as the location. They have switched from two hulled catamaran to a single hulled boat and made a host of other rule changes. One of the big changes in this cup with regards to the rules is were not allowed to do any physical testing. So we cant test in the wind tunnel or the tow tank. All the testing has been done in the simulated world, in computationalfluid dynamics on machines. Max starr is part of the team who have tested many, many virtual boat designs, repeatedly building and rebuilding them in software to try and improve the performance in the water and in the air. So Ineos Team Uk have a big mathematical problem to solve which is simulating all the air conditions and the hydrodynamic conditions on the yacht as it sails through the water underan insane number of different scenarios. To simulate what happens when water strikes the hull of a yacht, or when air hits the sail of a yacht, we pixelate those surfaces. We put little square pixels all over that yacht. At each one of those pixels we do a little bit of math, we understand what the temperature pressure and forces are that are acting then we can work out whats going to happen next and then how that cascades down the line to the next pixel and the next pixel and the next pixel. And suddenly we have got an idea of what a real, living boat will look like when it is in the water in race conditions. And the more detailed your simulation is, the more pixels you can break your boat into, the more accurate your model becomes. But every single pixel is simulated by a different computer processor, which means you need a massive amount of computing. Basically, you need to harness the power not of the wind but of the cloud. Now the crew do get to test how the virtual designs handle. This simulator knows exactly how the current design will behave when under the control of a master sailor. So lets see how it goes with me. Now i am sailing wow, one of the foils has gone into the water. And then, once were round there, if you go hard right and down. A little bit slow out of the tack in the front of the foils. What is fascinating with the sport is that its not like formula 1. Here, every boat can be really, really different, it is a massive unknown and there is no tried and tested formula for success. And one of the things that binaural recordings do better than any real time audio spacialisation is proximity, so we are also developing some other tech elements to include live microphones with the audio of the microphone spacialised, speech recognition and a few other things that will allow us to increase this interactivity. Donald trumps first full day in hospital, confusion and concern over his health, with mixed messages coming from his doctor and white house. The president himself sought to set the record straight with an update on his condition. I came here, wasnt willing so well, better now, we are working to get me all the way back, i have to be back. When he addressed reporters outside Walter Reed Medical Center earlier, the president s personal physician said mr trumps symptoms, a mild cough, nasal congestion and fatigue, are now resolving and improving. But he was vague on whether the president needed oxygen at some point. Has he ever been on supplemental oxygen . Right now he is not on oxygen. You keep saying right now, but did he previously . Yesterday and today he was not on oxygen. So he has not been on it during his Covid Treatment . He is not on oxygen right now. It later emerged mr trump had received oxygen at the white house before he was admitted to hospital. There was further confusion when the white house chief of staff, mark meadows, indicated to reporters at the hospital that the president was still not a clear path to full recovery. There is a concensus that the next two days will be crucial. The president s doctor says he is not out of the woods yet but that is improving. Im starting to feel good. You dont know over the next period of a few days, i guess thats the real test. So well be seeing what happens over the next couple of days. Mr trump also sought to explain his decision not to shelter at home from the virus. I had no choice because i just didnt want to stay in the white house. I was given that alternative, stay in the white house, lock yourself in, dont ever leave, dont even go to the oval office, just stay upstairs and enjoy it, dont see people, dont talk to people, and just be done with it, and i cant do that. With the president in hospital, theres growing concern that more members of his inner circle are also testing positive for the virus. Many of them attended whats been described as a super spreader event at the white house last weekend, where donald trump named his nominee for the vacant seat on the Supreme Court. They include the former governor of newjersey, Chris Christie, who has checked himself into hospital with a slight fever. Almost 13,000 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed across the uk yesterday, nearly double the previous days total. There is this talk of technical error yet even if you spread out his rising cases, it points to the case is increasing, perhaps more greatly than we realise. The explanation with hard from the department for health is, as you say, there was a technical issue which meant some community tests were being recorded improperly and that doesnt mean people who are going to get tests went being told that they were positive, it just means went being told that they were positive, itjust means the numbers of those people wont being included in the data that we get every day. So there was that number yesterday. The government saying they should be spread over a few days. What is not totally clear is what that will do totally clear is what that will do to the figures for the last week and there has been a steady increase over the last few weeks and the number of positive cases. It will be a few days before this irons out and we know what the trajectory of positive cases in england is. The government is saying that 13,000 figure, dont take it at face value. This matters, doesnt it, scrutiny around government. Just as laypeople, how the country is dealing with a pandemic, this number that we are getting every day. We regularly hear about the numbers of the weekend over the, there is a delay in reporting, then this lip with the technical data. Villages around the french city of nice have suffered serious damage, with the mayor calling it the worst flooding in living memory. In italys piedmont region the situation has been described as extremely critical roads and bridges have been washed away by floodwater. Is also receiving medications that could ring that lever down so it is unknown if you would have been feverish at that point but the president released a video, that he is feeling better but times, it seems he hasnt been feeling all that great. We also did learn that friday before he left the white house, he did receive supplemental oxygen which of course, when patients are being treated for covid 19, that is a concern and something to take note of. His doctors say he hasnt been receiving any more oxygen and by all accounts, they say the next 7 10 days shows what will be happening with the president s condition. What will be happening with the president s condition. That is the critical timescale. We dont really know when we will will have got this virus but to you develop small symptoms, its likely to happen in that timeframe which is i guess why they are being ultra cautious but its hard to know, with all information swirling around, slightly mixed messages from his people, the hospital itself, what the true story isnt also how i suppose we as an audience audience have been played here because there are so many different agendas on the go, arent there . There have been differences of opinion as to what is going on. Clearly the president wants to project a situation and position of strength and doesnt want anyone to think he is weaker than he actually is but obviously it is concerning for a nation its already been on edge along with the rest of the globe during this pandemic, not to mention the president ial election that will be happening here injust a month. Just remind us, this will be hugely disruptive to his campaigning but there is no possibility as far as i understand it that this will delay the election state thats not being discussed by anyone who would have the to do that. President trump has said in those around him have said, he wont be on the campaign trail like used to stop events with thousands of attendees, thousands of la rge scale events where he gets his message to the people, if he does any campaigning while he is receiving treatment, it will be virtual. Mike pence is tested negative the covid 19 so the plan still is for him to go out on behalf of the president as well and stump for their re election but certainly, were not going to see over the next couple of weeks at least, the same sort of campaigning that has been the stock in trade for President Trump since he announced his first run in 2015. Which puts a question over the next president ial debate on the 15th of over. We will have to wait and see. What Aboutjoe Biden . How does he play this because the American Networks are going to be rolling constantly the news about resident, no matter what some would say that can be beneficial to his campaign. In some ways it does seem joe biden has a bit of an edge, at least in terms of being able to be out campaigning. There are a handful of ground estates here in this campaign which are very crucial to the election either man is the next president , those states where the divide between democrats and republicans is not a very large. And sojoe biden, republicans is not a very large. And so joe biden, who republicans is not a very large. And sojoe biden, who has been doing Virtual Events a lot over the past six months or so of the pandemic, he will be out campaigning in person much more than before, whereas the opposite will be true for President Trump, should he campaign at all. So yes, the president will be on tv a lot, and the focus will be on hoping that he gets better soon, but on the other hand, joe biden will be able to ta ke other hand, joe biden will be able to take his message directly to the american people. And in the next hour of the programme we will be speaking to a Critical Care doctor who will be able to describe the treatment he has been receiving. I think we were always really thinking that it was going to be a Virtual Conference for us, that is why we have got the long nine day affair, is that we thought we needed to take an assessment of the situation and the safest thing to do was to have it virtually, to get online voting for the first time, all our policies set by our membership so we had to work out ways of getting everybody to vote at the same time from all different places in the country. It has been a task to put it all together. That does sound like a complex logistical endeavour. So, jonathan, talk us through what kind of headline idea is for you guys in your conference . I guess over the last six months, because of the virus, in ourown last six months, because of the virus, in our own way, we have all been living a little more of a green life and perhaps were used to, doing less travelling, working from home for lots of people. To what extent cannot be grounded as a reality, as we move out of the pandemic . I guess that is the big challenge . It is the big challenge. We sat in our speech on friday that we are at an absolutely pivotal moment, and we have got to see this moment, and we have got to see this moment through, with all the horror of the pandemic, i think in peoples response to it, when peoples response to it, when people came together in their local communities, when businesses adapted in the most amazing ways, when we saw our sense of solidarity in the community, but gave us a glimpse that we can change and we can make things better, even in these terrible circumstances. So we are putting forward ideas for a green new deal, we have heard the government talking about reskilling and changing peoples lives and jobs to give the new opportunities. So a big, Bold Programme to make new jobs, thosejobs. Given how increasingly prominent Environmental Issues are, with the deep concern that there is around climate change, for instance, why is the green party not cutting through more . I was looking back at the statistics, i think it was 2. 7 of the vote back in the general election. Shouldnt you be doing much better, given the prominence of Environmental Issues in the news almost every day of the week . Well, there are two issues there. Are we cutting through . Absolutely. Climate has never been higher in the agenda, right through the general election campaign, we we re the general election campaign, we were framing a setting that agenda. But people are voting for other parties, that is the point. We saw in the local elections, in the european elections, council elections, we finished ahead of the conservatives. The first past the post system in the general election does make it tough to break through, but we thought we would try to do something different, with the liberal democrats, if you remember, because the whole framing of the election was very much around brexit. But we had the first climate debate that we were present in, every single debate people were running to catch up with us, and i have lost count of the number of times people have stopped me on the streets and said, thank you for what you did in the general election. I think there is no doubt that we cut through, in no uncertain terms. Extinction rebellion, are you co mforta ble Extinction Rebellion, are you comfortable with the way they go about campaigning . Extinction rebellion, we have criticised them where we think they have gone wrong and we have praised them where we think they went right. We are fellow travellers with a lot of different movements, saying that time is running out. Precisely where have they gone wrong, in your view . think, there was a particular incident on the tube, if you think back about a year ago now, where some campaigners overstepped the mark. That would be an example of where they went wrong. I need to put my hand up and say i have spoken with Extinction Rebellion at their rallies. I was myself arrested, and then of course the charges were dropped because it was shown the police had acted wrongly, and actually themselves illegally, in that particular case. I guess the counterargument of the criticism some have made of extension rebellion and their tactics is that they get noticed, and in that sense, are they somewhat stealing your thunder, or do you need to fold yourself together as a single organisation, perhaps . We have a lwa ys organisation, perhaps . We have always said this is a wider movement. Some people take on court cases, some People Campaign and protest in the streets. We are the political arm of a much wider movement, and when you have got people raising the alarm, you need people raising the alarm, you need people to be implementing it in parliament, in local councils, passing legislation at the local level. We need politicians to bring about the change. It is knowing our place within that movement, and what sorts of different, if you like, aspects that are to the push that we need to make. To be clear, would you merge with them, given the chance . Well, no, they are a different thing. They are a campaigning group. You are a campaigning group. You are a campaigning group, you are a Political Party. I wonder where the distinction is . Why not throw your lot in together . The distinction is that we stand for election, we put ourselves forward between elections and during elections to bring about change that we need to see in local authorities, for example in london, with my colleague standing for the mayor of london, showers a London Assembly member and showers comes attlee, from her elect position, putting the political pressure through voting on sadiq khan, the mouth. I dont despair because what will you go and do, just go hide in the corner crying in the corner and giving up . We have a responsibility. Just treat the Natural World as if its precious, which it is, and dont squander. There are bits of it we have control. In the face of huge countries like china and the United States and russia doing things, it seems irrelevant sometimes. We cant take that as an excuse for doing nothing. We must do everything all of us can do and must do, and china is taking very big steps in many directions. Its a huge country with an immense population. And they are starting doing things about sorting out the climate and weather which of course has such problems so china is moving in the right direction. I agree the present administration in america is controversial at the moment, disastrous, but there we are, thats who was elected and we have to go through it. You talk about cost because there is also personal cost and you talk about making changes to our lives. What was the thing that you changed to sort of cost you personally the most . I would like to think, for the last six months, ive hardly moved out of this house. I cant pretend that ive changed my transport. Transport behaviour very much. But we are doing so, arent we . Im not flying away to all sorts of places. How would you describe lockdown life . I cant plead a bad time. I think when i was newly married, with a couple of kids in a flat with just two rooms and no garden and thinking what it would be like at the thought of the oncoming autumn and winter that was going to be ahead of us, having already been locked away for six months. That seems to me a pretty tough number. I know it is inevitable. I know it has to happen. And many people are having a much worse time than i am. I am lucky. I have a garden. I have a house. And we are surviving, my daughter and i are surviving very well. But it is going to be very, very rough for a lot of people. But one does missing people, friends, walking around. You got a lot of books to read over the next few months. Have you read them all . Chapter 13. Can we talk a little bit about Extinction Rebellion because you talk about lobbying mps and all of that. What about direct action . In getting a change, you have to be careful you dont break the law, i think. I also think that we have to create the people we share our community with, with respect. Thanks treat. And disturbing their lives to such an extent innocent people cant get about their own business is a serious thing to do and could disenchant an awful lot of people. Instagram and other ways of social media, you do have a chance to reach out to a different audience, but there is a real sense, we have so many people getting in touch with questions, that the younger generation, seem to be, many of them are on board. How does that make you feel . Thats the great hope. That is the most important hope, the most important place where there should be hope. Its their world and its there tomorrow. I will not be there. They will be. Its theirs. If they are not persuaded its important, we are wasting our time. Young people should be concerned about this. There was further confusion when the white house chief of staff mark meadows indicated to reporters at the hospital that the president was still not in a clear path to a full recovery. There is a consensus that the next few days will be crucial. Donald trump has been given to experimental drugs which its hoped will speed up his recovery from covid 19. Im starting to feel good. You dont know over the next period of a few days, i guess thats a real test. So well be seeing what happens over those next couple of days. Mr trump also sought to explain his decision not to shelter at home from the virus. I had no choice because ijust didnt want to stay in the white house. I was given that alternative. Stay in the white house, lock yourself in, dont ever leave, dont even go to the oval office, just stay upstairs and enjoy it. Dont see people, dont talk to people and just be done with it. And i cant do that. With the president in hospital there is growing concern that more members of his inner circle are also testing positive for the virus. Many of them attended what has been described as a super spreader event at the white house last weekend when mr trump named his nominee for the vacant seat at the Supreme Court. They include the former governor of newjersey Chris Christie who has checked himself into hospital with a slight fever. This is a crisis that has engulfed the Trump Administration less than a month before the election. Almost 13,000 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed across the uk yesterday, nearly double the previous days total. Walk through well you think youre at medically with the president at the moment because there is always concerned, if a handful of days in, to someone testing positive that that is the point where things yes, he has been admitted to the hospital. That means the virus has affected his one and breathing. Most likely, you received some oxygen. This is the early stage of the disease since the start of the symptoms, so the first week of the symptoms, so the first week of the virus, the infection, and this is when you get the complications in the lungs and other issues, and that is when you receive the complications or the monoclonal cocktail, which reduces the impact of the virus on the body cells. Its still very early to decide whether you will go either way. The next week or so will be crucial to decide whether you will have more symptoms, having more complications to pneumonia or related to other complications due to the viruslike thrombosis, blood clot or the hyper inflammation you see sometimes in patients with severe infections. Inflammation you see sometimes in patients with severe infectionsm the president so you would expect him to get the best medical attention possible but i wonder with the various drugs is been given, the extent he is getting different care from perhaps a typical american of the same age that he is with the same underlying concerns around his weight and the other factors that would him at greater risk. He he has multiple risk factors, including his age. They would tend to have more severe disease. It is more likely they would be in hospital than the popular generation, five times more likely. And sometimes up to 30 of patients being hospitalised. He is overweight and the fact that he has male increases risk. Patients with mild symptoms normally do not get these kind of things, so this is different from the usual protocol from this type of medication here in the United States. He also received an experimental antibodies which is unusual. You dont give patients that have mild disease medication which has not been approved for the public yet. Anyone catching this virus and suffering with will understandably regard themselves as u nfortu nate understandably regard themselves as unfortunate but given what we know now about the virus versus what new six months ago, the range of possible treatments for the president or anyone else are greater than they were back in march or april. We know more about how to treat it compared with six months ago, so patients will have severe infections or pneumonia, and its not known if he is getting the medication to reduce the information. We provide other medications, like using the plasma from patients who have recovered from patients who have recovered from the disease and other medication to reduce inflammation. He has not received any of that. Most of the time, we also give what thinner because this virus would reduce the risk of blood clots in the veins, the lungs and he has not received that, so there is still other medication that can be given to him if he has more complications to him if he has more complications to the virus. We do not know how we will be over the coming weeks with lets look at the best Case Scenario that gets better quickly and within a couple of weeks, might be able to be out and about again. Is it likely, even in that scenario, he would feel underpowered in what would feel underpowered in what would be the final stages of a president ial campaign having come through battling the virus . Yes, this is a virus that can affect the body and phases. It can feel better today and tomorrow hit really hard and feel very fatigued. He can have more oxygen feeling dizzy, fatigue, week and have more suppression with people in intensive care unit like the Prime Minister borisjohnson. You may need to be on a ventilator. Definitely the virus complications and the symptoms make it worse and that will affect your stamina and affect his performance, and the way you will conduct himself. You may have to transfer power to Vice President so all these questions are there and unpredictable because we do not know this virus behaviour, when it affects individuals, and clearly everyone is worried that he is not out of the woods yet. Everything is a bit confusing for us and we really dont know what the next step is and this is why we are really just next step is and this is why we are reallyjust hoping for some sort of influence and change from the British Government over here in italy so they can help us with our situation. They are not the only ones in that kind of situation. Lilyrose wallace is in a similar situation. She went on holiday to sicily with some of her friends at the start of september. Theyve now spent nearly three weeks in an isolation facility after repeatedly testing positive for the virus. We can speak to lilyrose now, and her mum beverly who joins us from london. At the start of september you went on holiday and it wasnt on the quarantine list, italy, the time and you are feeling well and healthy. What happened when he got to sicily . The first few days were time and no symptoms but the day we were supposed to fly back myself and a couple of my mates lost our sense of smell and our taste was affected a little bit and we had heard that one of our friends back home tested positive so then we decided to isolate and get tested. We all tested positive and were moved to this Coronavirus Hotel here. And thatis this Coronavirus Hotel here. And that is pretty much where we have been since. Described the sorts of conditions you are living in will stop is it similar to what we saw from the three lads also in isolation in italy . Very similar. Trapped in our own rooms cant see each other. Very grimy stop it is not clean. The cumin and missed the rooms once a week but there is a lot of hairand rooms once a week but there is a lot of hair and food and toenails on the floor. T t hey come in and mist. T hey come in and mist. You are not allowed out for a walk on your own . We briefly see each other when we get our rooms but that is it. Might get our food. That is the issue of positive tests coming back repeatedly and we will ask a doctor by that is happening. You have had up by that is happening. You have had up positive and inconclusive test . Three out of the tent as we have had been inconclusive and some of my mates tested negative first and positive the second time which is really soul crushing. The issue is italy requires it to negative test before they let you leave which even if it happens beyond the 14 day isolation period which is really problematic. It is entirely overwhelming because we are com pletely entirely overwhelming because we are completely out of any sense of being able to protect our children as a pa rent able to protect our children as a parent and that is what we would automatically usually do. I think it is also frustrating because of the testing. It feels as if there is a sense of almost a lack of rigour. So much emphasis is placed on these negative test coming back but as lily said we have gone from negative to positive and have had inconclusive which i feel means that is maybe an error in the lab. It is not really translated and the girls get the results in italian and then maybe somebody speaks to them in english. They have a wonderful consulate they are speaking to and he does help but it is all about the frustration of not knowing how definite or indefinite of this period is going to be. I have to say that having had the boys in florence might head the boys in florence and their story in the news has been hell for us to try to escalate a little faster and we want to help other people affected. Has been a help for us. In terms of going on holiday property didnt feel like this at the time but even she caught the virus at home she would have been at home with you and you would have been able to look after absolutely. There were no laws or rules are broken. At the time the Foreign Office had no restrictions on travel to italy and it still does not. Youre still free to travel there as a tourist and i think the italian ambassador said during the summer there would be no change at all more recently. It was advertising the country. And no facilities if anything went wrong. And actually it is notjust 14 days in isolation. The girls have done three weeks on monday and if they get two negative tests it will still be up toa get two negative tests it will still be up to a week i would say before they can even get home because there seems to be a lot of chaos in the hotel in terms of how results are related and timelines keep meandering and so much of the information coming through an italian which is confusing at a time when we are trying to focus on the girls and their well being. Isolation is a hard thing to go through, obviously. They get no physical exercise are no fresh air and they are high up. I do not know what floor thereon. They can see some kind of police outside. I think its quite an intimidating place to be. It sounds it. Is there anything while your mum is there that you can say to her because you can hear the anxiety and her voice . We are all missing our parents and missing home and hoping we can get back as soon as possible. Best of luck and lets hope it does resolve itself very soon. Thank you so much. The Foreign Office says consulate staff in italy are supporting british travellers quarantining in the country, and will continue to do all they can to help them. So why are some people repeatedly testing positive for covid weeks after their symptoms have gone . Were joined now by gp dr nighat arif. Why do these positive tests keep on rolling through . It is important to understand how the test is done. The test that lily rose and her mum beverley are talking about is the pcr test. It is a swab that goes at the back of the nose and throat and we ta ke the back of the nose and throat and we take some saliva. Then that is taken to the lab. They take it and try to detect the rna, the genetic material of the virus. And the test that makes billions of copies of the rna and the pathologist to whoever looks at the test knows it is a positive test. The world health 0rganization positive test. The World Health Organization and the centre of Disease Control actually a long time ago said that there are times when the test can actually come back positive even when the virus is not alive any more. For example, that is the difference. We have had this in the difference. We have had this in the uk with multiple health care professionals. For example nurses i have known who have had covid 19 and the test came back positive and they wa nted the test came back positive and they wanted to come back to work and we wa nted wanted to come back to work and we wanted to come back to work and we wanted to test them again and the test ca m e wanted to test them again and the test came back positive and one nurse had six consecutive test that came back positive. This is the crux of it because if youre testing positive but no longer contagious whether it be the nurse you refer to are lily rose are the lads we were hearing from you are still held up but of no risk to anyone. The theory is that fragments of the test still left behind but the test is not 100 of the test will still come back positive and those fragments are still little fragments and they are not fragments you can pass on. The differences if it is a lie finance you can transmit a live virus you can transmit just lingers around. You can transmit a live virus you can transmitjust lingers around. We are still looking at that. The best test to see if it is contagious is to do what is known as culturing and ta ke to do what is known as culturing and take a specimen of the virus and growth in the lab. But that requires time and has to be a specialised lab with high levels of virus security and thats something that is not available in hospitals. That is only solution . Is it . If people are continuing to return positive test after positive test despite having outwardly recovered from the virus is the only way they can prove if they are not contagious is if they go on for this complex and rather expensive process beyond the conventional test . The world health 0rganization conventional test . The World Health Organization and the centre for Disease Control have said people who test positive in consecutive tests it is not appropriate so there is a bit of common sense that has to play a role. We have known that for ages. 0ur nurse who tested positive several times not contagious any and are set to come back and see patients, exactly like lily rose. The World Health Organization have said if you have self isolated for days plus three and you are fine and not symptomatic then actually you can go back in business. This is the difference we are having with the Aviation Authority who see things slightly differently. You have to have all those test which are negative and then can be positive again and this is where the confusion is coming about. You have to go through all the available documentation from the foreign 0ffice documentation from the Foreign Office and individual countries to find out what will happen if you are symptomatic while abroad. Meanwhile, in cambodia, not that it will let british holiday makers in any time soon, you have to put down a 3000 deposit and if you do test positive, you are. Under house arrest as kind rather than people in italy, lithuania because of the rapidly rising infection rates in the uk, theyve just put in a stipulation where you have to spend two weeks in self isolation but you can have a test after eight days and they might let you out a few days early but if youre positive, things are much worse. Im afraid with italy being one of the very few your in countries we can now go to without having to quarantine on the way back, this will cause yet more lack of confidence among travellers who are thinking, wejust of confidence among travellers who are thinking, we just want to go somewhere, get some sunshine and come back but clearly, if you test positive, that sets a chain of events in motion over which you have little control. There are certain numbers of brits going abroad during the february half term, bringing back virus. Despite the worries with the travel industry at the moment, you would think the authorities here would want people to be cautious about thinking about a foreign trip.
