It was the obama Justice Department that is alleged to have been investigating his campaign. So its not as if hes blaming his own Justice Department. Hes basically saying if you have the Justice Department of one party investigating the other party. Are you really saying that . He slams the Justice Department of his own part along with barack obamas. Barack obama is not the doesnt that trouble you at all, don, that that might have happened . Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to a crime. Carter page was under a fisa investigation as a suspected foreign agent. But also incredibly damaging is donald trump is trying to get the Postal Service to double the rates of amazon because hes mad at be sdplrzos of the washingt pos post. In one week, donald trump has undermined five basic rules of normalcy. Attorney general eric holder put out this tweet. He says more norms being eroded. Trump a subject of the investigation wants access to material related to the inquiry. His congressional supporters want evidence connected to an ongoing investigation. Time is doj fbi to simply say no, protect the institutions and time tested norms. The question is whether it has been contaminated and has been politicized. That is a serious thing for the number one Law Enforcement agency of the United States to potentially have gotten involved in a Political Campaign is a very serious charge. And you keep saying there is no evidence of that, but look, well see. Trump is alleging it and theres all these allegations against him that are still unproven. Why is one allegation we should investigate and the other allegation we shouldnt . Because trump is the president of the United States. Barack obama is not. The russians, according to every intelligence source, interfered in our election. Thats part of the investigation. But theres also max, you know, theres allegations that Hillary Clinton had connections with the russians as well. Look, im not an expert on this steve, please, please, what youre doing is incredibly day k dangerous because there are actual facts showing the russians interfered in our election, there are facts showing the russians had an impact on the Trump Campaign. And donald trump is making false facts claiming Hillary Clinton sold oil to the ukranians. Please, you have to be able to sort out lies from facts, real facts from alternative facts, and please dont say this is part of the white house strategy just to throw out false information and say, who knows, you kapt macant make up your m. No, we have to sort it out, and the evidence that robert mule ser presenti mueller is presenting is very real, and what donald trump is presenting is not. Robert mueller hasnt even shown us anything. Mueller has gotten 22 indictment and see five guilty pleas. And hes got a lot more. We dont know what mueller has, but in the same breath when people say there is collusion, and in the same breath you say, there is no evidence of it yeah. There is no evidence of the same thing youre alleging as well. So one should be investigated and the other shouldnt . There is a lot more evidence of collusion than there is evidence of Justice Department bias against President Trump. There is no evidence whatsoever of that bias. There is a ton of evidence of collusion, including 72 contacts between the Trump Campaign and the russians. We do know, as a matter of fact, max, that there was an investigation by the Obama Administration against the Trump Campaign. Thats a pretty to intervene in a political election . It was to defend the United States from russian sabotage and infiltration. It was against the kremlin, it wasnt against the Trump Campaign. You keep saying collusion, and the reason i made the point that i did, because the scope of the Russian Investigation, okay, they authorized you to conduct the investigation confirmed by then fbi director james comey and testimony before the permanent select committee. It says, any links or coordination between the russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Trump and any matters any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation. Its more than just collusion. There is evidence of other crimes or matters that arose from the investigation that are being pointed out in these indictments and these guilty pleas. At this point i dont think we know enough to absolutely conclude that, but we do know that this meeting, along with the june 9th meeting, combined with Cambridge Analytica and the kushner Data Analytics thing all create one big package of foreign nationals endeavoring to work with the Trump Organization to impact the outcome of the election and thats got to be investigated. Julia, it is unclear if any social media plan was ever executed, and the attorneys for trump and zamel said they met and nothing came of it. We know that Many Americans were manipulated by social media in 2016. How does this add up to you . That the world and many governments knew that the trumps and trump family were for sale, and they were not selling the trumps, they were selling the United States interests. I want to talk about george nader and his role in this, because we know, michael, that he is cooperating with Robert Mueller, and cnn is reporting that nader attended a number of meetings involving emirati officials and trumps inner circle. It seems as if this august 3rd meeting that we were just talking about at trump tower, along with another meeting in the seychelles, and the allegations that there were policy changes in the aftermath of those meetings that nader is in the epicenter of those things. So what we thought was a sort of incidental witness seems now to be coming more important to the investigation. Harry, also at the same time in january of 2017 of that meeting, cnn news reporting that nader was at the same hotel bar as eric prince when prince met with a russian banker and a friend of vladimir putin. Prince later denied to the house intel that he was trying to set up a backchannel with putin. How do you see all this cloak and dagger . Is this cloak and dagger stuff . It feels like it for prince. Prince not only denies that, he denies that he had any communications and it looks like a flat lie. But the significance here is that nader is cooperating. Mueller already knows, as has been the case in so many instances where snippets emerge, whether trump jr. Was telling the truth that it was an innocent meeting and he rebuffed it right away. Nader has told mueller everything nader knows, and i think that likely bodes very ill for trump jr. Juliet, you were talking a lot about don jr. There saying hes a grown man and he should know better. He apparently had no hesitation in meeting with foreign nationals during the campaign. First it was that famous meeting with the russians in june of 2016. Now three months later, with an emissary for the saudis and the emirates, do you think there was one red flag after another and that no one seemed to understand what was going on here . There were 72 contacts amongst the Trump Campaign and russians that were denied over the course of the last two years. I mean, remember, this family and this president started off that there were no contacts whatsoever. Were now at 72 known contacts, at least what we know right now. The red flags, i mean at this stage, its just a fire in terms of the number of contacts that are going on. And i think one of the hard things for us to contemplate but that clearly the trump family contemplates is that they see no difference between what benefits the trump family monetarily and that being beneficial to the United States. That may be true in some instances. Maybe theyll benefit from Good American Foreign Policy as Many Companies do, but it does raise questions about why we didnt do the sanctions, why the Trump Administration has been tough on the sanctions, why they change their position to saudi arabia and the uae, why the chinese tariff thing is going on and why the chinese suddenly bail out the trump family in another property. It starts to make sense if you just see for the trumps, their interest is americas interest. For us thats not true. And that is but to the heart of the question, though, do you believe that with all of these coincidences, do you think there was no one in the campaign to raise a red flag, no one knew what was happening here . Ets he said i need your i. D. I said, i am going to pay and then ill give you my i. D. He said, no, youll give me your i. D. So i said, okay, ill give you my i. D. Im going to my truck, im going to pick up my cell phone and im going to record you. He said, okay. So i gave him my i. D. He went outside. They said they are reviewing the incident knowing they have the authority to question individuals, make arrests, and take and consider evidence. What do you say to that . If it was, i would be in jail. But heres the larger point, don. As you know, im a naturalized citizen. Spanish is my first language. I speak spanish at home. We speak spanish everywhere we go. I think theyve even spoken spanish on your show. To me that is a privilege. For me to be able to teach them a second language and a language that more and more people are using here in this country, that is what makes this country great. But what is so scary and incredibly appalling about this is that the occupant of the white house, what he has done, what he has said, the policies that they have supported are what is making this kind of thing more allowable. I just want to get everyones opinion going around. I know youre conflicted about Border Patrol. What do you think about this . I see both sides. I worked with Border Patrol in my capacity when i worked in capitol hill. They have a very tough job. And a lot of people dont realize Border Patrol has jurisdiction within 100 air miles of any border, air or extends inland. This was 35 miles from the Canadian Border of the what people dont realize is that there is some gray area in what institutes reasonable suspicion for Border Patrol officers tow inquire about someones status. Defining reasonable suspicion is where everyone gets very upset. Why he would be suspicious if someone is speaking spanish . We dont know whether he would have if someone was speaking french.
