We begin tonight with tornadoes and warnings sitting across the country from kansas, missouri, new jersey, and new york. Wild weather, injuries reported, flights delayed. Plenty of breaking news that does not sound good. Good evening, we live lee linda. Shannon, really doesnt. New york laguardia airport, jfk airport, york airport is the weather was just that bad. They are not allowing any plans to take off, heading for those airports. Think about new york, new jersey, pennsylvania, that states he normally associate with this kind of Severe Weather. Shows you how big this outbreak has been. 500 tornadoes over the past month or so, even this one youre going to see from kansas earlier today. There are reports of possible injuries from a tornado that was a mile wide at one point. The storm changer is going along with it say that these are some of the most dangerous types of tornadoes because they are wrapped in rain, which makes it very difficult on the ground who have not gotten into shelter to be able to know whether or not the tornado is coming for them. And you can see also in kansas there is already initial reports of damage. It takes a couple of hours when the tornadoes go through before we are able to get people on the ground and figure out whats gone there. There are First Responders already fanned out not only in kansas but also here in pennsylvania and possibly in new jersey as well as a country gets ready for yet another day of Severe Weather tomorrow. Its already been a very rough week. By night in ohio, they knew it was bad. Lifts up the blankets. Daylight showed a harsh reality through the storms in ohio killed one person and injured more than 130. The twister, 140mileperhour winds with roots clear off, allowing a few directly down and into the destruction. Abortion back in the legal and political spotlight with a major ruling from the Supreme Court. 2020 candidates promising to crack down on civil rights measures required by the Kristin Fisher has more on a very busy day. This is a case that could have tested the constitutional right of abortion in roe v. Wade, but the Supreme Court decided to leave the questions for another day. As just Justice Clarence thomas wrote, the court cannot afford it forever. The Supreme Court struck a compromise on an indiana abortion law, it upheld the state laws requiring futile remains to be buried or cremated, but it refused to consider reinstating a law banning abortion based on a fetuses race, sex, disability. The vp commands the Supreme Court for upholding the indiana law and Justice Thomas opinion that the course demo courts protecting those who face of the discriminations in context gives us hope that Legal Protections will sometimes be extended to unborn americans. The courts opinion was unsigned, but tensions between the liberal and conservative processes were on full display in the footnotes. This argument is difficult to understand to say the least. Justice ginsburg returned the favor arguing that Justice Thomas footnote displays more heat than light. Also corrected the terminology by saying that a woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a mother. The debate raises on in the high court, the issue is a shot to the center of the president ial campaign, as several states continue to pass strict antiabortion laws. Less than an hour ago, senator Kamala Harris announced a plan that would require state times abortion laws to obtain federal approval first. Those laws will have to come before my deferment of justice for review and approval. Until we determine they are constitutional, they will not take effect. In missouri, the last state Abortion Clinic may be forced to close. If it happens, missouri will become the first state without a functioning Abortion Clinic since roe v. Wade in 1973. Thats a long time. There are so many of these legal battles, federal, state, the court will have to weigh in at some point. Thank you. Ive read this thing, pages and pages on the history of eugenics and how Birth Control and abortion were aimed at preventing people who were viewed as unfit or should have never been born, its how he feels about this issue. Its going to end putting the decision of 2020 right in the middle of the provincial election. Well have to wait and see and i think what we saw today is that there is some hesitation on this court to take up this roe vs. Wade case. I want to see what happens. What i think we have to affirm and what we saw with ruth bader ginsburg, schmidt a womans Constitutional Rights to our firm control over body to equal her life to citizenship which is very important. Beyond just giving somebody a right to abortion, what roe vs. Wade does is it codifies a womans status as a man, i have full control of my body. As a woman, if you overturn roe v. Wade, they have no control over it which makes them less of a citizen. Shannon reading what a little bit what she has to say in her footnote as well directly addressing Justice Thomas, she says a woman who exercises her constitutionally protected right to terminate a pregnancy is not a mother. She was not happy about the use of that word. Yes, and i think it goes to show the other blindness coming from abortion advocates here. The reality is that she is a mother and there is a human life there. Yes, we have bodily rights just like men, but men cannot use their body to harm or inflict harm on somebody elses body and women do not have that right either. I do not have the right to harm a body inside my body that is unique in an individual of human life. I think this is Clarence Thomas comments are really powerful and important to play attention to, because he saying that abortion, the history of abortion, the history of planned parenthood has to do with eugenics. The fact that the number one killer of blacks today is abortion, it is higher than the combined top 15 reasons that blacks died today in america according to the cdc and abortion beats out all of them. The black abortion rate is three to five times higher than it is among whites. This is the history of a long legacy of targeting blacks in the womb when they are the most vulnerable and thats what Justice Thomas is concerned about and to see the blindness from Justice Ginsburg, not even acknowledging this horrific reality and continuing to come up with this fake constitutional right which was an unjust decision by the justices in roe v. Wade is really sad to see coming from a woman. Here in lies the problem, i think there there is a vulnerability that they test for africanamerican children. This one ability, when you work with democrats to ensure these mothers have access to prenatal care, will you work with educators to make sure theres access to early childhod Education Plan to make this is the fight we talk about each and every day for the people who voted for the heartbeat villa in missouri voted against expanding medicaid for poor mothers. It sounds like, richard, you agree that abortion is discriminating against them at this proportionately targeting i think society discriminates against africanamericans, not abortion. He said his record proves it, but hes also got this discussion about the 1994 crime bill which many in the Minority Community felt was devastating to them and resulted in mass incarceration and not a fair piece of legislation. The president has been tweeting about that, but the Washington Post said the president trying to highlight these things. If trump believes biden would lose the support of black americans in a general election against himself, the president is displaying a deep misunderstanding about the black electorate and his relationship with them since he came to occupy the white house. The margin in 2016 was 89 for Hillary Clinton for 8 of my africanamericans voting for the president. How does he plan to change their mind . I am predicting that this president gets more africanamerican votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. Listen, joe biden doesnt need any help for people not to vote for him. If you want to talk about the 1994 crime bill, yes, it disproportionately incarcerated so many black americans. He does have that issue. But maybe the issue is that, again, under the obama administration, when he was the Vice President , things didnt change for the black community in this country. Now under president donald trump, we see the lowest unemployment for africanamericans in the history of this country. We see wages going up, we see him supporting hbcus by increasing funding to them. We see them passing things like the first step asked, criminal Justice Reform that instead of incarcerating more black americans is going to get more people to stay out of jail and change lives within that community. As a whole, hes championing opportunities that are really helping these communities that have been ignored for so long. This president is actually delivering results when it comes to many things within the Africanamerican Community. Firstly joe biden, he didnt do a whole lot under the obama administration. Maybe thats not why hes going to vote for them. This here was the first thing i saw because i came out of the basement garage and i popped my head around the corner, looked out to the street, and thats when i saw our camper squatted upside down. I would take the same attitude about the Trump Administration that keeps stonewalling congress on their investigations. Lets all move towards transparency in the situations. Shannon there are a lot of people saying if you are going to declassify all the stuff, why not be more transparent . Mueller in this piece of flat out called the president a liar and says this is a smoke screen for things hes done wrong. Not the case. We have more than a few hundred page Mueller Report, more than a year of fbi investigations. Few years of mueller investigation, more than 1. 4 million documents turned over. There have been unbridled, unprecedented transparency on part of the president who didnt declare executive privilege. But what we do have here are a whole lot of fact suggesting that jim comey and the upper echelons of the fbi were engaged in a lot of wrongdoing.
