He blocked the doorway so people could not get in and used sheets to hang himself. He was found in his cell at midnight our time and pronounced dead an hour later at the hospital. He was just acquitted last week of a double murder from 2012 but was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder. He was eupb the gunman that killed innocent strangers was driven by hatred of white people. Family members identified one man as a father of two leaving Catholic Charities with groceries when he was shot. Kori muhammad started a shooting spree. Muhammad kept walking after shooting the third victim but was captured by an officer that tackled him. He made spontaneous statements, and those statements were, i did it, i shot them. He identified himself to the officer as Kori Muhammad and said you guys are looking for me. Authorities say although muhammad shouted allahu akbar twice, the Police Believe it was a hate crime and not terrorism because all the victims were white men. He has a criminal background dating back to the late 90s. He served several years in prison for a federal drug conviction and was supervised by drug counsellors until september. He attended high school and call ninge sacramento. This is what it looked like hours after the shooting spree. A vigil held in downtown fresno. People walked down the street and said prayers for the victims. And abc7 spoke to a witness who heard the gunshots from his home. I saw the second and third gunshot. The third shot, this guy was being shot and falling to the ground and the guy ran off. He said he heard eight shots in all. Shot spotter picked up 16 shots fired in less than a minute. On to local news now. Senior citizens in the east bay are facing a scary view from their apartments this morning. Imagine looking out and seeing a huge sinkhole that keeps getting close to your window. Amy hollyfield is live in pinole. Amy. Reporter theres a fence around the hole. Experts told the residents here they cant do anything until the ground dries out, and they cant get a break, more rain expected tonight. This is behind the Bay Park Retirement Community in pinole. Residents watched as it has taken out a transformer and trees and a light pole. Engineers have assured the residents, though, that they are safe. They are keeping us pretty clearly informed about things. They said they have seismic stuff measuring any movement, and they are also have got very precise measurements of the building to see if its changing shape, and it hasnt. Reporter heres a picture as crews did fill in the hole, but because the ground is so wet the soil keeps sliding. Its incredible how she escaped. She actually jumped out of this guys truck while they were still on the highway near bodega bay. Detectives saying during a 50mile ride, he raped her multiple times and injected her in meth and used a razor blade to carve his name into her skin. An autopsy is planned today on the body of the socalled facebook killer in cleveland. Steve stevens killed a man at random on sunday and posted it to facebook. He shot and killed himself during a short police chase. It started after he ordered mcnuggets and fries in a drive through at mcdonalds. Employees recognized him and tried to delay him while they called police. He didnt want to wait for the fries, which was fine. He took his sixpiece and didnt want money back and headed out on to buffalo road and the minute he turned right on buffalo road the state police were behind him at that point. Facebook has been criticized for allowing questionable content on its site. And zuckerberg said his company has a lot more to do to help keep its users safe. And then adidas is apologizing after a poorlyworded email about the boston marathon. They sent an email with the subject line, congrats, you survived the boston marathon.
