The roads. Its strange to see no cars and demolition crews out there instead replacing the old bay bridge toll plaza. Lets go out and check the alternates. San mateo bridge looks great. Problemfree. You know, we know like yesterday its likely going to get crowded a little later on. Westbound 92 Still Holding steady around 14 minutes out of hayward but it was really the evening commute that actually took the real brunt of this. If you want to avoid being stuck that big old backup going home, use mass transit. Thats other great option. Golden gate bridge once again a little bit of fog this morning across southbound 101. But so far, nice drive heading towards doyle drive. That is the latest from here in the traffic center. Back to you. Nice and slow. When we start deconstructing it, were going to start taking members down from this system and the first member we take out and all of a sudden the system isnt there anymore. Reporter sophisticated computer modeling has now been completed on the old bridge, which is far different now than it was when it first opened in 1936. At that time, the lower deck carried only trucks and streetcars so engineers want to make sure they understand exactly how the stresses and the loads are distributed. Its a huge structure, very complicated, 80 years old, gone through various rehabilitations, various retrofits, very important for to us have this information. Reporter im mark sayre, kpix 5.
