Dana jacobson is with us. We begin with breaking news in an apartment complex in maryland. The fire lit up the night sky in silver springs. Nearly three dozen people, including three firefighters taken to the hospital. Several people remain unaccounted for. Chip, good morning. Reporter good morning, smoke is still rising from that apartment complex behind me. Theyre still searching for survivors, between five and seven people are still unaccounted for. It began just before midnight, with a massive explosion. One building, was completely leveled. The blast was so strong, firefighters nearly a mile away, say they heard the explosion. It looks like two buildings on fire. One is fully involved. Reporter when rescuers arrived at the apartments in silver spring, maryland, it looked like an intern know. Trapped on second and third floor. Emergency crews put up ladders, taking over the work neighbors had started. Multiple rescues had been made by the sieve ycivilians. Reporter about 160 firefighters worked at it, cell phone video and pictures, the joi giant flames turning their homes into rubble. We heard a big boom, like a big, loud noise, and my aunt went outside and checked. And then she saw like a lot of fire outside. Reporter Officials Say 34 people were transported to local hospitals. The injuries range from abrasions to orthopedic injuries, broken bones from the exiting the structures, three and four stories, as well as burns and smoke inhalation type injuries. Reporter three firefighters were among those admitted. All had nonlife threatening injuries. Investigators are trying to determine what caused the damage. Still to early to identify the sequence of explosion and then fire, or something prior to the explosion. That will be determined later on in the day or beyond. Reporter fire Officials Say there are gas furnaces in those buildings, and they are certainly looking into whether the fire was started by natural gas. If it was, then the National Transportation safety board plans to send an entire investigative team, because gas and pipeline fires are within their jurisdiction. Thank you, chip. Donald trump has launched a new line of attacks, trying to link the Obama Administration to the founding of isis. The republican nominee also slammed Hillary Clinton for the newest batch of her state department emails. Andy highlighted a controversial face in the crowd at a recent clinton rally, but then a disgraced former congressman and trump supporter stole some of the spotlight. The dude. Im the dude so that is what you call me. You know . That, or his dudeness or duder or, you know, el dudeerino if youre not into the brevity thing. I was so happy when i first met you. Obviously, from my generation and many others, we were hoping you were as cool and as neat as the dude. And you were actually the dude this is what i wanted to ask you too. Because i always watch it and i think, all of the ums and uhs. Every script. This could be a lot more, um, ah, a complex i mean, it might not be such a simple ah you know . What in gods totally game are you blabbering about . Dude, man. Im a clicker guy when i watch tv and ill come on and say, ah, ill watch it until he licks the ball and ill go. Look. I cannot stop it i love that you appreciate that as much as we do. Do it so good. It gets better every time i see it its wild magnify it. Do i worry about getting typecast . What is this . How do you avoid that . This business has a way, if youve done one thing well, they try to make as many films and as much money off of that version of you that they can. But if youre a curious human being, then i think that curiosity cant really be stamped out and you will find avenues to not be just one thing. When i was starting out my career, i was really concerned about not developing too strong of persona. And so i really tried to kind of mix it up and now now ive kind of gotten to where you are where im kind of less concerned about that. And i think some of the greatest casting is where they cast against type. Something that we both share is mu music. Have you ever had a band . No. Ive been in a band. Toub how f do you know how fun it is . Yeah, i know. You got me running you got me hiding you got me hide run run hide the way you want you only started performing publicly after crazy heart . Crazy heart set me on fire. You want to be somebody now im somebody else something so negative about being on stage as a musician or i think about that even with standup comedy or something. Like this is it, this is what i got. I tend to relate to so many other things that i do in life in that way. You know, so when im performing music, its like im doing a big improv with the audience and all in the scene with me and we are just doing a jam. Now that i need you by my side i can only say jeff bridges is one of my favorite people. I mean, he is clearly the dude. Yes. He is clearly the coolest guy. Well done. Its nice to see the interaction between the two of them. I now want to see the movie.
