We cannot identify the first victim in a string of attacks carried out by the same student athlete at the high School However we can tell you we talked to her and she is grateful that students are taking it seriously and that the district is promising changes to promote better student safety. The now 16 year old says she still is haunted by what happened to her in a bath room in october 2015. Unsealed Court Documents show that the High School Student athlete in question was convicted of assault by force violence or fear. She read a victims impact statement to the defendant. When you assaulted me you might as well as taken my life and sense of security and myself and thrown it across the room. You changed me in countless ways. In late january the judge notified the district that the student was convicted of a felony. The student was ordered to return to school. A year after that attack the same High School Student athlete was accused of sexually assaulting a 14 Year Old Girl in the school bath room. That case went to court but the defendant attorney said he wasnt arrested or convicted of saefrnl assault. Student aepz Sexual Assault. Studented handed out wrist bands to raise awareness. I am supporting my friends and i also support the victims. People are scared to talk about it, but most people are very aware of it and are just really scared to talk about it. The student athlete in question is no longer on campus and his Attorney Says that he has been in compliance and has elected not to complete the year. The student is seeing a therapyist and the therapist writes he is achieving his goal to understanding. He is not at risk to the community at this time. I think it is great that he is in therapy but i want to see the affects of that myself. I am doubtful but hoping that it works i dont know that it will. I hearing in this case is on hold while the attorney for the student athlete in question fights to restrict media access to information in the case. The same attorney is appealing the con vings of the at the conviction of the athlete. The News Conference wrapped up detailing the arrest of an arson suspect. Who set fire to a dozen cars in recent months. We have live and at the News Conference plus speaking to the suspects family. We heard from investigators aft the News Conference that wrapped up and we learned that the suspect has prior convictions for sex with a mine yoer and receiving tollen powerpoint minor and receiving stolen property. The 36 year old has worked at a p computer technician and is now a criminal defendant accused of 11 car fires in april and march but is suspected of up to 30 fires. Investigators caught up with him as he set fire it a car. Prosecutors have charged him with 26 felony counts including arson, possession of flammable material and connection with fires in many cities.
