At about 1 00 in the morning the coast guard got a call that the crane barge had sunk outside of the eastern span of the bay bridge in serious weather. The crane barge helping bart work on the trans bay to was carrying about 4000 gallons of diesel fuel and 300 gallons of thick lube oil. The weather caused the capsize. Our Management Department has a team set up for emergency responses. We contacted all partnering agencies and local assets to start the mobilization. Once on scene we discovered the barge was actively shinning and so we as a coast guard hired in rcs to bring out boom and observant material to create a prevention mitigation for the environment.
