Been found by police. The whole incident started yesterday evening. Police say that the girls mother was staying at the residence inn when he came to visit. The mother and wallen had an argument and wallen took his daughter and drove off with her in his lap. The mother was dragged a short distance by the car but was able to free herself. Her adult son then went after them but her ex had brake checked him causing a small collision and took off with his daughter, driving with the young girl in his lap. We saw them 30 minutes ago after the amber alert was issued that the little girl was found in levermore. Thirty minutes ago, we received word that madeleine was found in livermore. Shes safely in Police Custody along with her grandmother who had the child at her home. Her father Michael Wallen has not been found and that is the absolute next phrase of the case, to do our phase of the case is to do our best to find him. We know that the grandmother has been detained and theyre not sure if shes the fraternal or maternal grandmother. Police dont have details as to how the young girl ended up in livermore and what time of day or night she ended up there, but they have detained the grandmother at this time and the suspect has still not been located by police yet. We know that hes driving a 2007 blue Nissan Altima and this just came out a few minutes after the amber alert. The official amber alert went out. We know hes driving a car that doesnt have a license plate. You wont see it on the billboards over the highways, but there has been and anyone. He could be facing abduction charges, what were told from police. Back to you guys. Great news. Yes. Police in san jose investigating the deadly crash that killed a driver of a pickup truck this morning. It happened at 3 45 in the area of moore park avenue and South Cypress avenue off of interstate 280 near santana row. When officers arrived, they found the white truck smashed up. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. And i ran down the street in my slippers on the phone and with the [ indiscernible ] and he said, he told me that [ indiscernible ] i wanted to double verify. Did you check . I checked. And this is the 13th deadly collision this year. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to talk to the San Francisco or San Jose Police departments traffic investigations unit. And this comes as san jose leaders are trying to make the road safer. The most recent crash happened on monday night. That is when a car hit and killed a 71yearold man on monterey road in south san jose. He was the 10th pedestrian killed this year in the city and the 12th traffic death. That is compared to the 18 deaths in a of 2016. The goal of the programs to reduce the number of deadly accidents to zero. Safety ideas include improvements on the roads, which includes adding barriers in bike lanes. In napa, an investigation is underway into a today live police shooting. That happened yesterday afternoon. Malcolm reports it may have started when a dispute between neighbors. Reporter in this neighborhood, police put evidence markers on the garage door. Its riddled with bullets, as you can see. The entire neighborhood was on lockdown whole the investigation continued. The police are still looking for answers as to how this began. At the same time, the suspect was backing out of his garage and fired at police as he tried to flee. He didnt get far, however, as he was shot and killed on linda vista avenue about a block away. The honda civic crashed into a tree two blocks away. It was west park elementary school, which was placed on lockdown. That lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter. The neighbors watched this unfold in the middle of a busy afternoon. There are Police Officers on the ground behind cars trying to hit at the car and probably shot as well while we were there. That was pretty scary. And he left the area. As he drove out of the area, he began to shoot at the Police Officers. It really comes down to firing at the officers. There were many shots fired by him. Last month, two napa Police Officers shot and killed a young homeless man who had a knife and started going after people in a local mall parking lot. New Court Records just filed yesterday show the widow of the Orlando Night Club shooter is not fighting her extradition to florida. Four victims have come forward so far and officers say they arrested the 45yearold man yesterday near carl and stannion streets but so far, police are not releasing his name. Two sons, ages 9 and five, were of sitting in the back of the moms jeep witnessing her being shot and killed. And anyone is to lift this family up and her three base up to god. M. , franklin was driving her boys to school when a silver mercedes pulled up alongside her and in front of her block her path. She was backing her jeep. Franklins estranged boyfriend gets out and walks up to her, argues with her for a few seconds and then shoots her. She can be seen walking back to the car and drives off in the mercedes. Another neighbor, a woman, walks the victims two sons away from the jeep. Police credit the neighbors with helping them identify mcbride as the suspect. And broke my heart because the guy, whoever he did, do why it in front of the children this morning. Were having a hard time dealing with this. Most of us are parents and you cant imagine having children watch their mother be murdered. Reporter the daughter of one of the children spoke with the boys. He said i miss my mama. Franklin had been with the suspect a year and moved from oakland back to richland when that relationship ended. And [ indiscernible ] he pulled up on me the other day and asked where she was at yesterday. And i [ indiscernible ] any information leading to finding this person who did this vicious murder of my child, please turn him in. If there is a wife or Family Member out there, you know him. This is the scene of a big rig crash. Looks like a dump truck there. On the side, this is interstate 880 in the northbound direction on fullerton avenue. You can see the cement truck turned over. Officials say there is some fuel leaking out of that truck. Apparently along with a truck, three other cars were involved in this crash and, as you can tell from the shot, this accident scene is blocking the number one, two, and three lanes. The three left lanes blocked northbound 880 at fortune in fremont. There has been a sig alert issued and that means its going to be longterm closure in that area. Were working to find out details on the injuries that may have been involved there. Its starting to back out and doesnt take much. The chp is continuing the investigation of a deadly accident at the dun barton bridge toll plaza. Officers say it happened on westbound highway 84 before the thornton overpass in fremont. This is at 10 30 last night. There were reports that it may have started when a wrongway driver, but chp is not commenting on that now. All westbound lanes of highway 84 were shut down for several hours, but the highway is , again, open. And in heyward, police say a man putting gas in his car was feat valley struck by another car. That happened west of interstate 880. The driver turned on the hazard lights for refueling the car. The driver of the other car is cooperating with police. Police have not released the victims name yet but that he was a 31yearold man from fremont. The city of berkeley is getting a new police chief. The city council appointed the acting chief to the job. Greenwood is a former Police Captain who has been in Law Enforcement for 40 years and replaces the former police chief Michael Meehan who resigned in october. Greenwood will be officially sworn in on april 20th. City leaders in San Francisco are setting a controversial idea aimed at helping heroin users. As rob roth reports, the city is forming a task force to study whether it should open a drug injection site where addicts can go to shoot up and have access to counseling. If youre sick enough, youre going to be here in the middle of the sidewalk where everyone is walking by. Reporter he puts the used needles in a plastic container, not all addicts do. Reporter the board of superadvisors president is calling for a task force to research an idea never tried before in the United States. Opening what she calls a safe injection site. It would allow addicts to inject drugs in a place where counselors and Health Officers would be close by. No potential sites have been determined. We want to look at whether or not we should try this. It could possibly help. Reporter San Francisco mayor ed lee had worried such an idea would enable a did action in a city Fund Addiction in a city funded place but hes warming up to the idea. If i have Health Experts on site at the reduction sites, theyre not about free injections but about reducing harm in the longterm on a basis. That is what i am supportive of. Reporter perhaps the biggest supporters are the addicts themselves. I can do my drugs and file comfortable and i can talk to a counselor. I am not comfortable. It saves me the embarrassment of, you know, public, i call them pdas, public drug addiction, you know, and it saves me from having to hide. It was about 5 in the morning. I was asleep in my bunk. Tony came in. And we heard [ indiscernible ] reporter many from station one were familiar with the building that housed nearly 100 people. As crews approachd . I can smell it from blocks away. They were approaching to see the embers in the air. As soon as we stepped out of the truck, there were people yelling that people were trapped and in the windows. The first thing we want to do when we get to the fire is see if there are any rescues. Reporter the scene was chaotic as people inside the building transitional housing was going up in flames. And they tied sheets together like in those car signs and they were trying to make like a rope to climb down. Reporter they said this is what they trained for. We pulled the fire escape down. Tied it off and went to the second, third floor. Reporter pulled a lady out on to the railing. The next was a gentleman who reached out and i pulled him. Reporter station 1 rescued seven people from the burning building. All eyes were not spare all lives were not spared as four people died in the fire. You want to be able to save everybody, you know. Its upsetting when you know you cant do that. Its a tragedy. We do everything we can. Our power is to save as many people as we can. Is any we did. Reporter altogether, they saved the lives of more than 20 people that day. Noning that some people didnt make it out alive will stay with them forever. Nothing special about it.
