weather could be blamed for this city cruiser crash. they should be okay. >> emotional testimony in the murder trial of a lacrosse player. adam may reports from virginia. >> reporter: sharon wiped away tears as prosecutors went into great details about the day her daughter died. she was coming home to this apartment in may 20/10. she found her face down in a pillow and in a blanket. when a roommate tried to wake up her she saw blood and an injury to the eye. they say she died of blunt force drama and loves boy friend seen here walking into court for the first time planned the beating in advance. she wrote a few days ago you said you would get back with you if i started bringing. i should have killed you. they say it was not premeditated. he's not that complicated. he's not that complex. both agreed after love's desk he went to the dumpster and threw away love's computer. they agree they drank the night of the death. it's no excuse for first degree murder. george is paying very close attention to the precedings inside the courtroom. at one point love's older sister was called to the witness stand. on her way up there she looked directly at george and two of them locked young brothers are killed by their father. a social worker was the first person to alert police something was wrong as josh powell's home. >> i'm on a supervised visitation and something weird has happened. >> reporter: she says the kids were one step ahead of her when powell slammed the door in her face. >> how long will it be? >> we have to respond to life threatening situations first. >> this could be life threatening. he went to court and didn't get his kids back and i'm afraid for their lives. >> reporter: inside police say josh powell brutally attacked his boys and used gasoline to blow up the house. >> he blew up the house and the kids. >> the kids and the father were in the house? >> yes, he slammed the door in my face. i kept knocking and thought it was a mistake and then i called 911. >> reporter: powell sent an e- mail before he killed the kids. >> he said something about he couldn't live without his sons. >> reporter: authorities from washington state determined it took 22 minutes for deputies to arrive at the scene of the fire after it was first reported. an investigation is now underway. >> he had been a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife susan powell. >> same sex marriage in maryland. his support is important because many religious leaders are still opposed to the plan. a house committee is expected to debate the bill later this week. >> a fetus dumped in the trash, tonight we're learning more about how it got there. mike has the unfolding investigation. >> reporter: police say the fetus was wrapped in plastic and found in this on kristie freeman's property in ocean city but dropped charges when they couldn't prove any were born alive. medical examiners perform an autopsy to determine the death. >> call the police
