A. s recommendation against jail time was to keep the Police Departments at bay, putting full responsibility on the judge. Frankle doesnt see it that way. The District Attorneys position is going to go a long way as to what the judge ultimately decides. Defense certainly is going to recommend that he not go to jail. Now the prosecution is recommending that he not go to jail. This judge is an independent thinker. That doesnt guarantee hes not going to sentence him to some jail time. Reporter what he decides will be learned april 14th, the day he is expected to deliver antwan lewis, fox 5 news. Im not encouraged by the fact that theres no action being taken in the case of ramarley graham. Reacting to the case want a uniformed policy that applies to all officers and not a legal system where asian officers are held accountable while nonasian officers go unindicted. Jennifer in fox 5 health news, is a common cat parasite to blame for explosive anger in humans steve joining us, dr. Doris day. When you think about it, you hear about how toxic bat waste would be and things like that. Why would a cat be any different being in close proximity . It is a problem. When you think of toxoplasmosis, we tell them not to touch cat litter or change it because it can cause an infection that can get through to the fetus and affect the Central Nervous system or the brain of the unborn child. Now theres a connection between toxoplasmosis and certain psychiatric conditions. Theres one in particular called intermittent explosive disorder, ied. This is a disorder where people react inappropriately to unimportant situations. You could think of road rage or a small situation and they can physically or verbally react completely inappropriately. They notice when they looked at three groups, a group with the disorder, the psychiatric disorder, a group with other psychiatric disorders or ones who didnt, the highest percentage of people who had toxoplasmosis in their blood they could measure were in that group. So 22 percent of people with that disorder had toxoplasmosis only 9 of the control group. Steve whats first . The cat or rage . Thats the question. We know it can cause inflammation of the brain and this is a condition that by doing that can cause certain disorders, even bipolar, obsessive compulsive disorder, but these are associations. Now we have to see if we can measure it in the brain. We have to see if by treating it we can make a difference. Sometimes if that condition has caused enough inflammation, treating it, you have to treat it separately than just the infection. Treating the infection may not cure the problem. You may also need to do the other treatments, whether its speaking with your psychiatrist or being on other medications to control for the other conditions. Steve it can be a lot to unravel. It may help with people in the future of treating earlier or, you know, just being more careful steve as a risk factor. Got you. Jennifer an online quiz could help predict your risk of skin cancer, but how reliable is that its a good quiz. This was developed by Health Experts in australia. We think of australia. We think of hugh jackman as a spokesperson for steve he constantly has these things on his nose. They have great sun, lots of exposure, high rates of skin cancer. Theyve been working hard to bring the rates down. Researchers there looked at over 39,000 patients, data from the patients age 40 to 70. They came up with 10 questions, like whats your ethnicity . Whats your skin type . Are you male or female . How many skin cancers or sunspots have you had removed . Whether or not you smoke. All those can affect year risk of developing a nonmelanoma skin cancer in three years. All that means is that if youre at higher risk, be more on guard, see your dermatologist more often. Theyre very careful to say this doesnt replace the need to see at higher risk, go sooner. Dont sit with it. While those are not lifethreatening, they can be very disruptive to your skin and they can be disfiguring. Jennifer at the very least theres something we can do to screen for this in a small way. Nonmelanoma skin cancers is the most common cancer. Its not just the most common skin cancer, its the most common cancer. This is something that can happen where the sun shines. Chronic sun exposure is a problem. Suntanning and the tanning salon is a problem. Its not typically brown spots. They can be red, ulcerated in the middle. Knowing whether youre at higher risk, all these things can make a big difference. Steve got you. We appreciate it. Thank you. Audrey, much cooler out today. A big difference. We were spoiled yesterday with temperatures soaring into the yesterdays high in central park was 71. Today we only made it to 55. That was at 1 15 earlier this afternoon. Out towards the east, its cooler where we have readings in the 40s like islip and montauk point. Inland is more comfortable. Mid 50s in poughkeepsie towards monticello. The cooler temperatures are due to a wind coming off the ocean. Thats why the numbers are kept at bay there. Inland numbers are feeling more comfortable. Its breezy out there right now. That will continue through the rest of tonight and into tomorrow. A big spread in temperatures all across the northeast. We have an area of low pressure thats sitting off towards the great lakes here. Theres a cold front off to the west. What were focus the on is a warm front draped across the area. Its taken a dip across the tristate area. Thats why the cooler we call it a back door cold front. Right now its shifting into a warm front status. It will be rising through the area, so we will see milder weather return to the region tomorrow. Now, along the front, we see some shower activity. Theres rain and thunderstorms riding down from the ohio valley towards the gulf coast. Thats headed in our direction. It will be here by tomorrow. We have mild air that will be peeking into the northeast again. Were going for highs in the 60s again before cooler air works in behind that front. That will increase our chances of showers and by the middle of the day, there will be a defining line coming through. We could hear some rumbles of thunder. Theres a couple of isolated thunderstorms that could be embedded in the line when the front moves through and well be seeing clearing conditions in the latter afternoon hours. Saturday, plenty of sunshine. Looks good for saturday and sunday. Temperatures will be slightly cooler with highs like today in the 50s, which is closer to average.
