Isis sending about 2,800 additional troops into iraq and spreading them out to half a dozen locations around the country. Until now u. S. Troops have been confined to baghdad and the city of irbil in the north. Now 630 will be shipped out north and west of baghdad to act as advisors to iraqi units fighting isis including in Anbar Province where some of the bloodiest fighting of the iraq war took place. 830 of these new soldiers will be trainers stationed at Iraqi Military bases around the country to train a total of 12 iraqi and kurdish brigades, roughly 54,000 soldiers. The aim is to regenerate Ground Forces that with the help of those american airstrikes are supposed to retake the territory seized by isis earlier this year when the iraqi army broke and ran away. But the americans are expecting international help. The pentagon says other countries in the coalition against isis pledged to send in an additional 700 trainers. The white house insists none of the american troops will engage in combat and they say it will take two to three months for all of them to arrive in iraq and another six or seven months to train those iraqi troops. Today the white house denied that it waited until after the election to ask congress for more money and troops to fight isis. The president met over lunch with congressional leaders to discuss the progress in defeating isis. In 2003 president george w. Bush ordered the invasion of iraq when Saddam Hussein outright defied an ultimatum. Were you surprised when you gave the ultimatum to saddam that he didnt leave . Did you think there was a chance . It was indeed. Tonight philadelphia abduction suspect Delvin Barnes is sitting in a virginia jail on suicide watch. Barnes is the man accused of dragging 22yearold Carlesha Freeland Gaither off the street into his car. Hes also accused of abducting a virginia teenager in october with the intention of killing her. He was extradited from Baltimore County to Charles County county, virginia, overnight to face those charges. A gps tracking device placed in barnes car by a dealership is what police say helped law enforcers to catch up with him. Delvin barnes questionable Credit History prompted a car dealership to install the gps device. One after hour agent morolla shared that information with agents in baltimore, he was arrested. Delvin barnes now faces federal kidnapping charges and attempted murder and rape charges in virginia for the alleged attack on the 16year old girl. Last night we told you about a hit and run in wheaton that left one teenager in critical condition, but now Montgomery County police say it may have been a weird case of selfdefense. Turns out the driver of that black chevy avalanche suv told the cops he and his friends were trying to drive away from the parking lot, but a group of other teenagers were throwing rocks and trying to get into their vehicle. 21yearold drove away. He had no idea he hit anyone and police say the traffic evidence would seem to back up at least part of that story showing the damage to the suv from the rocks. No names have been released as the investigation is ongoing. Two Loudoun County Football Players are charged with assault and battery. The teammates are accused of inappropriately touching other players. The 17yearold Briarwoods High School students allegedly assaulted an underclassman after school hours in a locker room. A second student came forward but did not want to press charges. The Sheriffs Office would not give us details, but did say this did not qualify as haying.
