Utah smokes California in latest ranking of top performing U.S. cities

Researchers at economic think tank Milken Institute ranked three Utah metro areas in the top-10 best performing economies in the country. Provo earned the No. 1 spot with Salt Lake jumping 21 places over last year to No. 4 and Ogden-Clearfield snagging the No. 9 slot. Utah, researchers said, was finding just the right combination of robust tech sector growth and an affordable cost of living.
