A beloved and historic Potomac River ferry shuttered by legal disputes last year may have a new chance to shuttle again. White's Ferry, which has carried passengers between Maryland and Virginia since the late 1700s, has been purchased by businessman Chuck Kuhn, chief executive of JK Moving Services.
Kuhn hopes to settle the drama over property rights, restore the boat to working condition, and return to shuttling an estimated 800 vehicles per day. Commuters willing to pay the $8 round trip used the ferry to cut down on driving time between Montgomery County, Md., and Loudoun County, Va.
