Two of the injured are school teachers, one of whom pulled the fire alarm to evacuate the building. Police later detonated suspicious packages found in the suspects car. Lets get the very latest from the abcs dave packer. Reporter gunfire sent police swarming to the grand 16 Movie Theater in lafayette, louisiana. Officers entered the theater to engage the shooter. They did hear shots being fired at that time. Reporter eyewitnesss described the rush to escape. The whole group of people, teenage areas mainly running out telling everybody to run for their life. We saw a lady with blood all over her leg. I just grabbed my child. We just all ran. Guards or something came to us and told everybody to get out. So we ran outside. And then a lady right there, she was in a dress and there was blood everywhere. Thats when we realized what was going on. Reporter at least nine people were taken to the hospital by ambulance. All of a sudden, we hear gunshots. The sirens inside the theater starts going off and telling everyone we need to evacuate the building quickly. We go outside, woo he see a lady laying down.
