Ontario heading into another lockdown
The Province of Ontario is heading into another lockdown. The Premier made the announcement yesterday. This is as health officials say new COVID-19 cases are on the rise, and tougher restrictions are needed to protect Ontario’s Hospitals and save lives. Doug Ford told Ontarians it will all begin on December 26th at 12:01am. It will last 14-days for Northern Ontario, and 28-days for Southern Ontario.

4-new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed in the Kirkland Lake area
Four new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed by the Timiskaming Health Unit. The people are in the northern part of the district, which is the Kirkland Lake area.

Lakeridge Health is on the list to receive some doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
Ontario is expecting to receive up to 90,000 Pfizer-BioNTech doses from the federal government before the end of the year to continue vaccinating health care workers and essential caregivers working in hospitals, long-term care homes, retirement homes and other congregate settings caring for seniors.
The province will be distributing additional doses of the vaccine to 17 more hospital sites, including regions with the highest rates of COVID-19 infection.

THUNDER BAY - Sean Bolton, a personal support worker with St. Joseph’s Care Group, was more than willing to roll up his sleeve and become the first person in the city of Thunder Bay to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Being a PSW for as long as I have I feel like I should lead by example and I always have,” he said. “To be the first one to get it was actually a great honour and pride and to show everyone else that it will be good and fine and hopefully we’ll be able to get over this hump.”
