A bicyclist sustained minor injuries Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car turning into the parking lot at Fort Dodge Middle School, 800 N. 32nd Street.
According to the police report, Abigail Adams, 19, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix and was turning right off of North 32nd Street into the FDMS driveway when she collided with Brandi Conrad, 50, who was riding her bicycle on the nature trail near the middle school around 12:30 p.m.
Conrad was taken to UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Adams was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Loretta Mae (Wise) Nelson “Rusty,” 92, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center after a short illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Services will be live streamed via the Historic Bruce Funeral Home Facebook page. A Fort Dodge man who pleaded guilty to shooting another man with a flare gun has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his crimes.
William Goddard Jr., 32, was arrested on July 22, 2020, after he shot a 52-year-old man with a flare gun in the 500 block of South 15th Street the day before. In a video recording, Goddard Jr. was seen shooting twice at the man before pushing him to the ground and striking him with a blunt object numerous times. Before he left the crime scene, Goddar Jr. struck the victim lying on the ground with his vehicle.
Donathan Williams
A Fort Dodge man will spend a decade in prison after pleading guilty to willful injury for stabbing a man in a downtown apartment in July 2020.
Donathan L. Williams, 42, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Friday by District Court Judge Kurt Stoebe. Earlier in the week, Williams had pleaded guilty to willful injury causing serious injury, a Class C forcible felony, in exchange for two other charges being dismissed.
Williams was arrested on July 2, 2020, after the victim, 39-year-old Lavaris Bosworth, walked into the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, 126 N. 10th St., with wounds on his neck and back. Bosworth was transported to UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.
