Day 3 of Assam Assembly Proceedings Held at Under-Construction Building
The Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami said that initially there might be temporary hiatus in conducting the session in the under-construction building.

GUWAHATI: On the last day the of the ongoing Assam assembly session, Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami invited all the members of the present Assembly to take part in the proceedings in the new building.
The new building complex is located adjacent to the existing Assembly complex.
Earlier, MLAs from both ruling and Opposition parties, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami toured the building.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has received financial assistance of over Rs 262 crore from the Centre for management of COVID-19 pandemic and rolling out the vaccination drive, state Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday. Presenting the Vote on Account Budget for 2021-22 , Sarma said the government allocated an additional Rs 760 crore for prevention and management of the pandemic to the general budget grant of Rs 6,126 crore to the Health Department in the ongoing fiscal.
Petrol, diesel to become cheaper by Rs 5 per litre in Assam as govt withdraws additional cess
Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma withdrew an additional cess on petrol and diesel, making the fuels cheaper by Rs 5 per litre.

GUWAHATI: Ahead of the assembly polls in Assam, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday presented a vote-on-account for Rs 60,784.03 crore in the House and withdrew an additional cess on petrol and diesel, making the fuels cheaper by Rs 5 per litre.
He also proposed to remove an additional cess of around 25 per cent imposed on alcoholic beverages in the last year.
