Taking a cue from popular e-commerce giants,
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (
PCMC) rolled out its own online marketplace on January 14, which, according to the authorities, will enable
businesses to make their products available on the portal. Officials claimed that the move is aimed at both supporting
small shops and businesses to grow and allowing citizens to get a smooth, quick and hassle-free online shopping experience.

An abrupt decision by the
Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to shut the jumbo COVID-care centre at Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Pimpri-Chinchwad, from January 16, has left the agency running the unit in a quandary. While it is yet to be paid its dues, it does not have the wherewithal to let its 500-odd staff go, who are mostly parked in hotels, where the bills will have to be cleared before check-out. The authorities, however, assured they will take due care for winding up the unit.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits have
fire department’s safety clearance nod. Obtaining the no-objection certificate (
NOC) is a must for either procuring a licence to operate a hospital or renew its authorisation permit. According to the health department of PCMC, there are 46 such hospitals in twin towns’ jurisdiction.

Pune: The district added 502 new cases of Covid yesterday, taking the case tally to 3, 70,228. The death toll has touched around 9,000 in Pune district after eight more deaths.
576 patients were discharged from different hospitals across Pune district after full recovery. The total number of patients cured of Covid in the district has reached 3, 55,988. At present, there are 2,661 active Covid patients in PMC limits, of whom 216 are serious and 300 are on oxygen support.
