Seniors 65 and older and people with health conditions that make them extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 can now âsave their place in lineâ by pre-registering for the vaccine in Florida through a new website and phone system.
Healthcare workers with direct patient contact and long-term care residents and staff can also pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Jan. 29 Seniors 65 and older and people with health conditions that make them extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 can now save their place in line by pre-registering for the vaccine in Florida through a new website and phone system.
Healthcare workers with direct patient contact and long-term care residents and staff can also pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The new website is myvaccine.fl.gov. You can also pre-register by phone. To find the designated number for your county, visit floridahealthcovid19.gov.
Anyone who pre-registers for a vaccine appointment will be notified when slots become available at state-supported vaccination sites in their county, according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management, which is tasked with the state s vaccine distribution. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz doubled down on the need for more COVID-19 vaccine doses while speaking Thursday with state senators.
Moskowitz said that if Florida had the supply, it has the capacity to administer as many as 250,000 doses a day.
“We would be done with seniors in three weeks,” Moskowitz said.
SOUTH SARASOTA COUNTY – COVID-19 pandemic-related social distancing concerns have prompted the cities of North Port and Venice both to juggle their planned public meetings.
In North Port, Interim City Manager Jason Yarborough canceled the North Port City Commission’s Tuesday meeting, as well as Thursday’s Code Enforcement Board hearing.
Meanwhile, the Venice City Council hosted its regularly scheduled hybrid meeting but did so without a quorum in chambers at Venice City Hall – which meant board members treated the day as a cross between a workshop and a meeting.
North Port spokesman Josh Taylor confirmed that the cancelations were COVID-19 related.
