COVID-19 VACCINES ADMINISTERED IN PETTIS COUNTY

A few thousand COVID-19 vaccinations were administered in Pettis County recently. During the Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force meeting on Monday, February 1, officials at the Pettis County Health Center said: “Our community provided approximately 3,000 doses of vaccine last week. The partners in providing this large number included Bothwell Regional Health Center, Woods Pharmacy, Katy Trail Community Health, AFC Urgent Care, the Missouri National Guard and the Pettis County Health Center. Additional vaccine will be distributed this week by appointment only.” Officials also say, “We understand that many people want to be vaccinated, and we are vaccinating as quickly as possible with the available supplies. If you preregistered through the Pettis County Health Center, you may be called by any of the vaccinators in the county or the VA, if eligible. Please note where and when your appointment will be. Bothwell To Offer Free Heart Score Screenings February is American Heart Month, and Bothwell Regional Health Center and Bothwell Foundation have again partnered to provide free cardiac calcium or heart score screenings Feb. 6, 13 and 20. A cardiac calcium screening is a special type of noninvasive computed tomography (CT) scan that shows if calcium deposits are present and how many. Calcium deposits in the form of plaque build up in the arteries and restrict blood flow to the heart, putting people at risk for heart attacks and coronary artery disease. Marc Dougherty, Bothwell Medical Imaging director, said the scan detects calciumcardiac  deposits in, on or near heart vessels. The screening result is a “score” that reflects the total area of calcium deposits, and a higher score means a higher risk of heart disease.

Pettis County COVID-19 Cases Decrease More Vac Clinics Set The number of coronavirus cases in Pettis County are decreasing according to Pettis County Health Center while our community vaccinated around 3,000 people last week. There was an increase of 71 COVID-19 cases in this past week and 164 cases in the past two weeks. Pettis County Health Center says while the number of positive cases are decreasing it s still important for people to be tested for the virus to make sure unknown cases do not spread throughout the community. The 3,000 vaccinations figure is a combination of vaccinations given by Pettis County Health Center, Bothwell Regional Health Center, Woods Pharmacy, Katy Trail Community Health, AFC Urgent Care, and the Missouri National Guard. Additional vaccine clinics will be held this week by appointment only.

Sedalia Police Reports For February 2nd, 2021 This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Friday night, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Rainbow Drive for a disturbance. As Officers arrived, they observed one individual punching another. Bobbie Joe Gregory, 56, of Sedalia, was arrested and resisted arrest after being placed in handcuffs. Charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest are being submitted to the prosecutor.   Early Monday morning, Officers on patrol found two unattended bikes in the area of East 16th Street and South New York Avenue. The bikes were transported to the Police Department for safe keeping.

(KMIZ) A Sedalia vaccination site ended Saturday with a total of just over 2,300 people getting their COVID-19 vaccine over the past three days. The Bothwell Regional Health Center and the Pettis County Health Center hosted the event at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The Missouri National Guard also helped out with the event.
